*** Guess you have to be uncomfortable if you want to be safe sometimes. Thought Jadyn. Sensei handed out the flashlights Lisa had gathered along with a bottled water and an aeroblade to each of them and said " Keep these with you at all times. The water isn't for drinking... "

*** As they walked toward the caves Jadyn had the sudden memory of Cole telling him that Sensei Yang might be in his closet. He had thought it a scary possibility at the time, even though he knew Yang had turned good. Of course this was before he knew Yang couldn't leave the temple even when he was bad, and Jadyn had never lived in the temple. It was also before that one night, because after that even the smallest things scared him for the longest time, especially fire... Jadyn tried not to think about it, but it was hard not to picture the fire, how it burned him and- Try not to think about that! It was thirteen years ago, he can't hurt you now... Jadyn thought to himself. He should be gone, I watched him burn...

That's because they came out in Season 5, when the story began to get darker and not so Y-7-rated.

They walked on in silence, when suddenly a large sound came from behind them and echoed through the tunnel, and sortly after that more sounds like it. Jadyn, Zephyr, Moe and Lisa pointed their flashlights in different directions and got into a circle with their backs to the middle. Admittedly, not putting much thought to it. The sounds stopped and it was silent again, other than the sound of the other ninja's breath. " Look. " said Lisa shineing her flashlight down the tunnel. A broad had fallen from the ceiling that was probably ment to help hold it up. On top of that was a pile of large rocks and dirt. It was still open enough that they could get back later. It was chilling to think what could have happened if someone had been standing there though... "Let's keep going. " said Sensei. As they walked on everyone began to relax and even started talking a little. Sensei told them to keep talking brief though, because if there was indeed ghosts it would be very easy for them to hear them. Jadyn was almost ready to suggest they give up the search, but then he heard faint sounds in the distance.

They came to a point where the tunnel spilt two different ways. Sensei must have heard the sounds to because he turned down the tunnel that the noises were coming from. Everyone was quite. The sounds became more and more clear. The sounds of mining, talking and other various noises. Jadyn began to wonder if these were really ghosts they were tracking. He looked down at his aeroblade. Did we bring the right stuff? He wondered. Then they turned a corner and stepped into a fully operational mining room. Jadyn couldn't believe his eyes for a second. There was at least a dozen miners, all dressed in black or gray with another color of less dominance on each. Some had hard hats or hardware glasses and used various mining tools to pick at the wall. Others were working a pullie system that lead up to a hole in the ceiling, and others were cleaning their finds. But what was the most amazing was what they were mining: aurora minerals, they lit up the cavern so it was unnecessary for headlights or flashlights. Their blue watery look and glow was everywhere, the miners pulling them gently but quickly out of the the other rocks and dirt and cleaning them carefully. Then setting them in the pullie system and sending them to the light above. It took a moment before the miners noticed them, but when they finally did the cavern grew very quiet as all eyes turned to Sensei Lloyd, Jadyn, Moe, Lisa and Zephyr. The miners looked at them hostility, Jadyn then realized how the ninja hoods and weapons must look. Lisa must have figured that too because she removed her hood and put her aeroblade away on her back and said apologetically. " Oh, sorry to disturb you. We were sent to deal with ghosts and thought you guys might be it... Again so sorry. " Lloyd cought on and removed his hood as well, Jadyn assumed he should do the same and removed his too, so did Zephyr and Moe reluctantly. Jadyn also put away his aeroblade, this all was to show they ment no harm and didn't want trouble.

" Max, what do we do? " asked a female miner in a hard hat. A man in his mid twenties walked over to them, he had blonde hair and little tiny bit of facial hair that was hardly visible. He wore black, with a light teal, he also had what looked like a paw print with one strip going through it on his suit. The strange thing was, he suit and the others looked a lot like ninja suits... The man, who must have been Max spoke up. " Who are you ninja? " " Who's asking? " asked Sensei Lloyd. Jadyn then realized Max had a little knife in a small bag by his side. These weren't normal miners... " I asked you first green ninja. Is that who you are? " said Max coldly. "You catch on fast. " said Sensei. " Then who are your friends? Even a fool could tell this isn't your normal team. " " These are my students." said Sensei Lloyd calmly. The tension was very thick, Max's miners looked ready to pounce, and their hostile looks made Jadyn uncomfortable. He looked at his teammates, Moe looked as though he could be watching TV, Lisa was still trying to look friendly and non threatening, and Zephyr was clutching her aeroblade with a hostile look almost equal to the miners' " What are their elements? " asked Max eyeing them down. " None of your concern for now. I believe my students would like some privacy. So, you're mining aurora minerals. Why so secretly?" replied Sensei Lloyd. "Who said it was secretly? Anyways, I need to go talk with a- my boss. You can linger if you want, just don't bother my workers. " said Max, he then walked away and shouted " get back to work, hurry!" The miners did as they were told, although they still glanced over at the ninja often. Max whispered something to two of the miners and then went up the pullie system with a grim look on his face.

"Strange, very strange... " said Sensei thoughtfully. The two miners Max had whispered to came over. One was the woman in the hard hat who had called Max over, and the other was a man with a scar on his left cheek. They both seemed to be in their early thirties. " Max said to keep an eye on you so you don't cause trouble." said the woman, the guy with the scar stopped on her foot, probably harder than he intended because she turned on him and shouted " What was that for?!" " You just can't say stuff like that sis. " He replied. " Why not? " she asked aggravated. " I can't explain that here! " He replied. " See this is why we're still Pack rank after ten years! You keep getting us into arguments! " she said " No, it's because you keep saying stuff you shouldn't. " He replied in a loud whisper that wasn't really a whisper at all. " Someone shut up the twins!" Shouted one miner. " No no, it's getting good! "shouted another. "Our cover is blown! " shouted yet another. Jadyn wasn't sure what to make of all this, it was all happening so fast. "That's it! It's been years since I was trusted with any dirty work, let's get 'em. " Shouted a surprisingly old looking woman with white hair and gray clothing with light faded pink. She pulled out a small knife and rushed over to them. It took Jadyn a moment to realize she was actually attacking him and his friends! As soon as she got close though Sensei took her out in a moment by kicking her and then using a pressure point that knocked her out. This lit the fire, because almost all the miners took out knives and attacked.

Jadyn put his hood back on and took out his aeroblade. Not what it's made for, but a weapon is a weapon. Jadyn thought. The male twin came at him with his knife but Jadyn blocked it with his aeroblade. The twin stepped back and came at him again with a jab of his knife aiming for Jadyn's side. He barely dodged it. This guy was actually really good, he probably had years of training. Jadyn swung the aeroblade at him to make him back off, he didn't want to make the mistake of letting him get close enough to stab at him again. His twin soon joined him and Jadyn found himself on full defense of his own life. He couldn't even look to see if Zephyr, Lisa, Moe or Sensei Lloyd needed his help or were in danger, letting down his guard for even a second would be the end of him. Fighting, still fighting, dodging one twin, slashing at the other. It was tiring, and with the deepstone amour weighing him down it was even harder. Suddenly a spinning cyclone of blue mixed with bits of green flashed in front of him taking out one of the twins. The other twin who remained standing, the guy with the scar, quickly reached into the mini tornado and pulled Zephyr out by the foot, breaking her spinjizu. She fell to the ground momentary stunned. He was about to bring his knife down on her, but before he could Jadyn quickly dropped his aeroblade and grabbed his opponent's arm. He then quickly tugged him to the side which threw him off balance and onto the floor. The twin let out cry of pain, he must have fell on his own knife... Jadyn held out his hand and lifted Zephyr to her feet. Her expression wasn't easy to read through her ninja hood, but she was ok.
