I didn't know much about ninja or samurai until Ninjago. I guess I didn't know what to think of them.
Ninja were usually ruthless mercenaries who fought and assassinated for the highest bidder. Samurai were the law-keepers of a sort, but many times they abused their powers and were harsh to the peasants.
Yeah I know that now. That doesn't mean all ninja were bad though. ( I've been trying to do the math for years to figure out if there could have been Christian ninja or not. )
This was before you knew that Ninjago is a Asien based culture with western stuff in it and it's supposed to be that way, right? Yeah. ( Yeah it was, each month had a theme we had to do about our country and we'd each talk about that topic in front of the group. ) Yeah I miss him, ironically though for all I know he could be on here, because he liked ninja and Lego...
Oh cool! Your grandparents were missionaries. ( of course. )
But yeah, life goal: Go to Japan.
Right. Then I began to accept its diverse culture.
(Sounds like fun. ) That'd be awesome. It's also be pretty funny if the two of you realized you were LMB-E friends all this time and didn't even know it.
Yeah! Often my mom will tell me stories about growing up in Taiwan -- she and her siblings can still speak Chinese, and will do it in public to surprise people.
(I'll look into it.) I just thought "Ninja? Really? Lame.", so you've got to admire writers who take an element or idea that the world views as one thing and twist it into another.
World: Ninja are ruthless assassins who smash their victims in the dead of night for their own nefarious purposes or for the cause of the local rebellion. Hageman brothers: O RLLY? TAKE THAT!! *gives world Ninjago*
World: Cats are lazy, sleepy, and kinda funny. I mean, look at all these hilarious cat videos! Hunter sisters: O RLLY? TAKE THAT!! *gives world Warriors*
And so on.
(Good.)
Well, actually, it seems to me most of the world doesn't know that ninja are ruthless assassins.
But that's true about Warriors.
(Hunter sisters?)
Well, yeah, but you only need a quick peek into medieval Japan's history to realize what it was really like.
(I just call them that -- I don't think they're actual sisters. )

*butts in* Sorry. (Perhaps. Portuguese Catholics arrived in Japan in 1549, I've heard, and there were still ninja in the service of Tokugawa Shogunate by 1603. It's not impossible to consider some ninja knowing Christ, especially seeing that many ninja were fighting against tyranny and oppression. )

I know, some ninja were villagers mostly who were trained in Ninjutsu.
Well, the series is in the 1560s when the Portuguese first came to Japan. (I actually wrote "Ninjago" by mistake. )

( The story part before this one is on page 39 if you haven't seen it. )
" We left, for.. reasons..." He said tracing his fingers over a scar on the side of his head that looked like some sort of years old burn. She hadn't noticed it before since most of the scar was hidden by his red locks. Zephyr resisted the urge to ask questions since the the topic seemed to bother him. Am I not the only one keeping secrets? Zephyr thought.
The next day was different from the day before. Yes Lisa had to wake up Zephyr again, and she did need a little help from Jadyn to remember all the warm ups. But instead of hiking out the hills, Sensei started the day by teaching Zephyr more basics in the garden while Jadyn and Lisa did some more advanced stuff inside. They did this for about two hours before Sensei left Zephyr to practice on her own while he taught the other two. Zephyr was starting to wonder if she'd been practicing long enough when Lisa told her her she could come inside. They then did some intense exercise, or it was intense to Zephyr at least. Many had to do with strengthening their cores and stretching muscles Zephyr didn't even know she had. By the end of it Zephyr dropped to the floor exhausted. " You worked hard Zephyr, that's good. " Said Sensei turning off the radio which had been playing exercise music. Zephyr was glad he was pleased, even if she feel like she'd never be able to stand again at the moment. Later they hiked to the same sand court as the day before to practice holds and escapes. Zephyr, Lisa and Jadyn all practiced each hold on each other. They were only doing arm and hand holds and escapes today. They did ones such as the Game Boy hold and other simple ones.

I like the life goal.
That would be funny!
Oh super cool! That's funny.
Thanks Sam8432 ! ( I try to keep to the rules, but I sometimes forget. )
