Yeah! Sometimes I wish I could go back one last time. . .
The Japanese, apparently.
I've been wanting to go there ever since I found out that's where ninja originated from! and when I was more educated about it of course. The more I learn about it the more I want to go there. I've learned a lot about Japan through 4-H, especially when my friend did Japan as the county he was doing in the international project me and my sister were in with a bunch of other people from 4-H. ( I wasn't quite as crazy about Japan as I am now, so me and my sister did Saudi Arabia because that's where Arabian horses are from. However I did realize Japan is way cooler, like on the first day. ) I didn't get to learn about it as much as the other countries though, because my friend moved away during that time... But anyways yeah, I really like Japan. Plus the setting and climate just looks and sounds so beautiful and awesome from what I've seen and heard. And so many things I like seem to be from, connected to or related to Japan in some way. ( for example: Ninjago. )
𝓑𝓮fore watching Ninjago, I read the first three books in a series about Japan (you should read it: Young Samurai) and the ninja were the villains, so I was a little wary of them, but then the later books some of the ninja were good, so that made me feel better.

I know, right?! Funnily enough, when I was watching Ninjago for the first time (and I was still skeptical and a little reluctant to try it out) I thought "Japanese-based culture, huh? Lemme try to find all the cultural inaccuracies. " I found several, (like European spark plug in the monastery) but I quit after I fell in love with it. Really? (Heh, that sounds like a pretty interesting project, too!) Aw. . . That's cool! I think I'll always feel a connection to Japan, not only because it's where I lived for a short period, but because it reminds my mother of where she grew up when her parents we're missionaries. (Yeah -- I think Ninjago made me love it even more. )

(Ooh, that sounds interesting. What's it about? ) Yeah, when I first began watching I did chuckle to myself over the fact that in this story, ninja were the young, funny, courageous heroes. I've done research on the ninja (Fun Fact: they were actually called shinobi) before, and they were not the kind of people you want to mess with.

(This boy from England who was shipwrecked in Japan and a Samurai saved him.) They were mostly ruthless mercenaries. (I knew that, because of this great series. ) Definitely not.

(Intriguing. . . I wonder if they have those books at the American library nearby. . . ) Yup -- as well as sly assassins. (Ooh, historical fact mixed with historical fiction -- I like it! ) Ninjago certainly put an interesting twist on things.

(I think they would. They also have British versions. . . .) Both. (Yep! ) It did. I was like "NO! Why did they have to be ninja? " but I came to love it anyway.

" A form is like an imaginary fight, you do a number of different moves in a routine. Today I'll be teaching you some of the basic moves of a form. " Said Sensei. So he taught her some basic blocks and some stepping while punching techniques. Zephyr tired to learn what she could, and do each move correctly, it wasn't easy though. Later Sensei had Lisa and Jadyn come inside and they went over the basics again. Sensei told them when to make each move as they would try to do it in unison. He would correct any mistakes by telling them how to do it right. Zephyr was one who made the most mistakes of course, but this was just her first day, she couldn't be expected to know all this already, right? Lisa made each move look as if she had simply always known it, and Jadyn preformed each move as if he were fighting off an invisible enemy. After that Sensei had them study maps of Ninjago as he told them how important it was know the land they were protecting. Zephyr gazed at the spot on the map that looked like the lower jaw of a dragon, the location of Hiroshi's Labyrinth. Home... " So Zephyr, where in Ninjago did you come from? " Startled, Zephyr flinched at the broken silence, but relaxed a bit after she realized a second later that it was only Jadyn. Why does everyone ask that question?! Zephyr thought. What to do? How was she going to get out of this one without sounding rude? Could she say it's a secret? But then would he want to know more? Ahhh!!! Oh right, I remember what to do... thought Zephyr. " Uhh, umm, from an area on the mid western part of Ninjago" Zephyr indicated to the general area near Hiroshi's Labyrinth. " where did you two come from? " Zephyr said hopeing that would work, and change the subject. "Oh yeah that's right, Sensei found you near Donahue. Before we came to stay here, we lived here. " replied Jadyn pointing to a spot on the map. " Then that's not to far from here? " asked Zephyr, "Yeah, before we lived there though my family lived away from Lisa's family, and we lived here." He pointed to a different spot on the map extremely close to Ninjago City. He made a face as if he were recalling bad memories.

If I read it I might accidently root for the ninja.
