" Come on, let's go this way. " Said Moe. Zephyr followed them, she realized there was sound of many footsteps behind them. They went the way Zephyr had just came from. They ran past the room Zephyr was just in, the warriors were gone. They continued down the hall. A group of warriors confronted them, attempting to block thier way, the pack members behind them were coming close. They would be srouunded soon. Moe punched a warrior with his speed and then another. Nathan took out a small knife and slashed at one. Zephyr kicked one in the gut. Jadyn took a tapestry off the wall, set it on fire and placed it on the floor where they just came from so the flames would block anyone chasing them from behind. One of thier foes punched Nathan in the nose, he staggered backwards as it began to bleed. Moe did spinjizu and so did Zephyr right after creating a temporary gape for them to get by. The four of them rushed past the warriors who remained standing. They then took a right and went down some stairs and past another hallway. Now they were in the big room and more pack members attacked, including the ones who had followed them. They were srouunded in no time. Many pack members seemed to enjoying this according to the thrilled looks the faces of those with their hoods off. There were more pack members here then Zephyr had ever seen ever, there were maybe fifty she guessed. " We've got 'em now! " Shouted one girl joyfully. " What do we do with these three do you suppose? " Asked another pack member to his companion nearby. A pack member stepped forward and said. " I say we at least have a little fun with them since they're here! " Her hair was a mixture of purple, blue and pink, and she had a nasty scar that went through her right eye, however her eye itself seemed unharmed. " You will do no such thing Omicron, as long as Alpha's granddaughter is there. " Kent stepped forward. " It was just a suggestion. " Omicron shrugged, " Besides, we've been growing hungry for action, to see results of our work. " " Says the mechanic. " said another pack member. " No one asked you Rex "

" It was wise of your father to give it to you, I heard that it saved your life. You know, the three stripes through the paw means you are related to the alpha, did you know that? " " I didn't... " She replied. She thought it odd that he was just talking to her and no one had attacked yet. Maybe he was hoping if he was nice she would lead him to her family? " I'm guessing you want me to lead you to my father? " Zephyr asked. Alpha grinned and replied. " Oh, that won't be necessary. " Zephyr felt a little panicked at his words, she asked. " What do you mean? " " I already have warriors where your family is. I'm just here while my best warriors get them for me. " This angered Zephyr, but it also scared her, anger however was the emotion that she let show on her face. She put away her knife and lunged at Alpha in rage, however he dodged out of her way effortlessly. " It's already done Zephyr, I already have pack members there, there's nothing you can do. " He said in a way like a parent telling a child they couldn't have something. All this time she had tried to prevent her family from being found. All those years of them being so careful. All the times she wondered why they were always so paranoid, why she was paranoid. And now, today they were all being cought by the pack they had been hiding from all thier lives! Or not... What if Jadyn and Moe had gotten there on time, what if hadn't been to late? She would have no choice but to trust that they could do it, she had to trust her whole team actually, she realized that now. Than Alpha said. " You can come quietly on your own Zephyr, these two don't need to be harmed yet. " Zephyr said nothing. They could fight, but then if Nathan or Lisa got hurt the blame would be on her. Suddenly though, a noise shook the trees around them, like the loud cry of an animal. Large footsteps came toward them. They were here...

The pack members had turned around trying to see what was coming. Then through trees and foliage came several large beasts. They stood on two legs and had two tiny arms. Their heads were large and thier mouths were full of dagger-like teeth. They had long swaying tails and thier eyes and scales were like a dragon's. Zephyr's family called them shapetooths because there was no creatures under record in Ninjago like them. A large male with a colorful blue face and green scales elsewhere on his body was the first to come close. He sniffed the air and his orange eyes widened. Zephyr knew what the creature was thinking, he was ready to go on a feeding frenzy. The warriors ran from where they were, trying to escape the oncoming monsters. Without putting much thought to it Zephyr walked forward toward the beasts. Perhaps she could stop them with her gravity? The creatures came closer, the one was close enough that she could smell his reptilian breath. What happened next Zephyr could hardly understand. She used her element and suddenly rose from the ground up to the eye level of the creature. She looked at her hand, it was glowing and turned transparent, she seemed to be made of blue and green energy. However she felt calm, at peace even, like she was in a dream-like state. She lifted her hands up and the shapetooths lifted into the air as well. She sent them far into the jungle where she knew they could be set down safely. Then she turned to Lisa, Nathan, Alpha and the pack warriors. She picked all them up and they all flew through the jungle until they reached a ledge that was to high for the shapetooths and set all of them down there. She then came down next to them and fell about two feet to the ground. Her mind was a blur, unsure of what had just happened. " Zephyr! " Shouted Lisa excitedly as her and Nathan ran over to her. " What just happened?... " Asked Zephyr trying to pick herself off the ground.

Lisa repiled happily. " You just unlocked your true potential! That's when an elemental master overcomes a personal problem holding them back and unlocks their true power! You just did that! How did you, how did you do it? " " I mean, I don't know... I guess moments before I realized I had to trust you all, the team I mean, that I could trust you. Before I told you all everything the other night didn't want to trust anyone, but now I see I can fully trust my friends and my sensei. " It was then Zephyr remember Alpha and his warriors. She turned to where she had left them to see Alpha standing alone. " They left by traveler's tea. " Said Alpha answering the question she hadn't asked yet. " They begged me and I let them, they've seen enough and I know I can't make you come by force here and now. I will be patient for now while there is still a little time left." He pulled out something throw it on the ground, a portal appeared and he said. " I will see you again granddaughter. " and with that he left through the portal. Zephyr starred after him as he disappeared from view along with the portal. Zephyr, Nathan and Lisa were quiet for a moment. Until Nathan said. " How about we go home to the dojo and find out what happened with Moe and Jadyn? If all went well they should be back now. " Zephyr and Lisa agreed and they got out thier traveler's tea. Then they stepped through the portal...

Chapter 18 The Price of Victory
Earlier, elsewhere in Hiroshi's Labyrinth...
Jadyn and Moe stepped out of the portal and into Hiroshi's Labyrinth. Jadyn had never been to this legendary jungle before and was still rather astonished that Zephyr had lived here her whole life. No wonder it seemed like she had been raised in near complete isolation. There was foliage and trees everywhere, except where they were standing which appeared to be a path of some kind. Suddenly Jadyn heard someone gasp from nearby. He looked over his shoulder to see a child who looked to be about ten years old. He had messy brown hair and was wearing a green t shirt. He looked dumbstruck. Jadyn guessed this must be one of Zephyr's family members. Suddenly he took off running. " Hey wait kid! " Said Moe starting to chase him. Jadyn followed. They followed the kid along the path all the way to some large trees. " Strangers! Stangers! " the boy shouted. All of sudden out off nowhere another boy jumped out of hiding and attacked Jadyn. He wasn't any bigger than the kid they had been chasing. He shouted. " Go tell the adults Gregory! I'll hold 'em off!" Jadyn tried to push the kid off him but without success. " I won't let you smash alone George! I'll help you! " Said Gregory attacking Moe. " Just don't move and maybe they'll stop! " Said Moe. Jadyn listened to Moe and eventually after about a long painful minute they did stop. " See we out power you strangers! " Said George. " You're our prisoners now. " " Um George, I don't think these guys are out to get us. They would have beat us." Said Gregory. " I know that, I was just playing. " Said George. " You were? " Said Gregory. " Anyway they shouldn't be here though. " " Yeah true. " Said George. " What are you strangers here for? " " We're friends of Zephyr. " Said Moe.

" Prove it. " Said George sounding doubtful. Jadyn knew just how to do that. He used his element of fire and created a small flame in his hand. The boys looked surprised. " That's not all. " Said Moe showing off his speed by running around. " Why didn't you do that when you chased me? " Asked Gregory. Moe grinned and said. " Because I wanted to give you a chance. " " Can we please speak with your parents? " Asked Jadyn. " I guess... follow us. " Said George. They followed the boys over to a wooden structure on the ground and stepped inside it. George pulled a lever and the structure went up. Jadyn realized it was an elevator. Within moments they were in a room, a treehouse. It must have been so well camouflaged that he hadn't even noticed it until they were inside. They stepped out of the elevator. Jadyn looked around. There was furniture made of wood and cloth. A kitchen area with what looked like a stove, oven and sink. There were wooded doors that lead to different rooms. Everything in the treehouse appeared to be hand made or at least tampered with to work in this jungle treehouse, Jadyn even noticed that they had a TV and pips. They had worked hard to make this place a home and he and Moe were going to tell them to leave it behind. On the couches were several people sorting herbs. They hadn't noticed Jadyn and Moe yet. A girl who looked about as old as George and Gregory opened a door that faced the elevator, she stopped and starred wide eyed as she dropped the boardgame she was holding on the ground. " Look strangers. " Said George as he pointed at Jadyn and Moe. It took a moment for everyone to notice them but once they did he was met with shocked, scared and even hostile looks, much like the look Zephyr had given him on the night they first met. From thier features it was obvious these were Zephyr's relatives. " In all my years... " Said a very old woman. A teenager came over to them and pulled out a pocket knife. " Who are you? " He asked hostility.

" We're friends of of Zephyr." repiled Jadyn. " Where is Zephyr? " Asked the girl who dropped the boardgame stepping forward. " She couldn't come here, she's elsewhere... It's to portect you though. " Answered Jadyn. Another girl who was slightly older came out of the same room she did and pulled her back away from Jadyn and Moe. A man came over to them, he had brown hair and looked to be about forty. " Tell us everything then. " Jadyn wasn't sure how much time they had. " There isn't much time, are you Zechariah? Zephyr's father. " " Yes. That's me. " Said the man. Jadyn explained. " Your father knows you are hiding in Hiroshi's Labyrinth. Zephyr thinks he might find you soon, she's elsewhere in Hiroshi's Labyrinth to throw him off the trail while we are here to warn you to leave now before it's to late. We have traveler's tea, more than enough for everyone, it'll take us to the dojo your daughter has been living at ever since Sensei found her. " " They're elemental masters uncle. " Said Gregory " Masters of speed and fire. " Zechariah grinned for a moment and then frowned, saying. " I guess we better leave then... " " Now hang on. " Said a nearly middle aged women standing up. " We've been safe here all these years and built this place with our bare hands. Now you expect us to leave because a couple of mere boys show up claiming they know Zephyr and that your father is still after us? " A woman who looked the same age as Zechariah came over to her, of everyone here she looked the most like Zephyr, her mother maybe. The women said. " Now Amelia, let's be reasonable, if what they say isn't true why would they be here and would they have found us without Zephyr's help? I say we do as they say to be safe. " " Thank you ma'am. " Said Moe. She smiled and said. " You can call me Grace. "

The other woman sighed. " Ah well, if we're going we're going I guess. Alright then, get a move on everyone! Grab what's important to you because we might never come back. Don't make the same mistake I did! " From there everything seemed like chaos. Everyone grabbing their most precious things and clothes and few things they needed. They gathered everything surprising quickly though and soon they started to come down the elevator. Jadyn learned in this short time that everyone here was: Zephyr's grandfather and grandmother from her mother's side. Grayson and his wife Amelia. Thier children Grant, Zaida and Gregory. Zechariah and Grace. Zephyr's siblings who he knew of were George, Zahra and Gabe. Also there were two cats, Raven and Little Star. ( Who got put in cat carriers and certain people decided to take charge of each. ) Quite a lot of people to keep track of. Once they were all outside though Jadyn had the awful feeling they were being watched. He didn't know why through... Suddenly, through the foliage Jadyn spotted some shadowy figures, Zechariah had spotted them too. " Run! Run now! " Shouted Zechariah. The warriors jumped out of their hiding places. " Follow me and stay together! " Shouted Moe as he used his speed to take the lead. Jadyn and Zechariah stood in the back of the group making sure everyone else was still running ahead of them. The pack members were very close behind them though within seconds though... Jadyn lit his hand on fire and set the foliage on fire as he passed it hoping that would slow them down. He realized after awhile that if they were hoping to escape, not everyone would make it... He had to slow down those who were hunting them. He turned on their pursuers setting ablaze to more foliage. Pulling out a knife he slashed at their legs as they ran by, hoping to disable but not smash. Two got past him and the fire, he chased them with all the energy he could muster. He threw fire at one off the pursuers' legs. He cried out in pain as he fell to the ground. Jadyn winced, he hated seeing people get burned, it brought back horrible memories...
