It's not the law that you must take a day off on Christmas. Again: just because the Bible doesn't mandate it doesn't mean it's evil. The Bible doesn't require you to brush your teeth, either!
there are practical things which we do, but when worship I follow what the Bible says, Christmas is not in the Bible, its founded of Pagan symbols and rituals and whitewashed with Christianty.
I'd say it's founded on Christianity and whitewashed with pagan things by our secular culture.
And I've always known that Soviet propaganda was sadly effective. :tounge:
Its basic facts... no propaganda.
What facts? The Soviet Union was a brutal, evil dictatorship that oppressed freedom and sadistically tortured and murdered anyone who disagreed, and tried to prevent it's people from even knowing about other options?
What nation tried to starve the people of West Berlin in an attempt to take control of it? The Soviet Union. What nations kept the city alive by air for almost a year in the face of all the odds? America and the UK.
What nation established similar evil regimes throughout eastern Europe that tried to prevent any of their people from going to the west for a better life? The Soviet Union. Which countries helped the people of Western Europe establish Free Republics whose freedom and and prosperity attracted people from the oppressed east? America and the UK.
Which countries had rigged elections and one party systems that crushed all opposition? The Soviet Union and the regimes it established. Which countries have free political systems with people with drastically opposed viewpoints in office?
Most of Europe now. And why? Because America stood against Soviet tyranny and oppression until the countries of Eastern Europe could rise up and throw off their chains imposed by the Soviets and claim Freedom.

I don't believe the holiday of Christmas is a nationally-sanctioned day of worship.

While the Bible does not say that specifically, I can understand your reasoning.
To bear: "to bring forth (young); give birth to." Mary gave birth to Jesus, so yes, she bore God. Due to the nature of the Trinity, that doesn't mean she created God -- it just means that she bore his incarnation.
I'm not attacking anything, but I'm bringing to light fallacy in your argument.
We have sin, and we have evil, but we also have the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit is the ultimate good, so we are either good or evil depending on which one we allow to control us.
But in Hebrews it says pretty clearly that Its gone, Christ is are King, Priest, and Prophet. We don't use Temples or have priests. I'm still gonna say its wrong, but whatever, I also reject the Saint Business. Okay. But we are always evil, and so is countries, one Sin by a unbeliever can blacken an entire Country so that it is Evil.

Can you tell me how it's wrong, or just state something that directly contradicts what the Bible says? Also not sure if you even understand the "Saint business" enough to reject it.
[Insert something about God's presence everywhere but honestly I can tell that trying to convince you of anything is a lost cause]

Well, we're all related through Adam, and more directly Noah.
So that means I'm related to you guys. Maybe Keplers is my 42nd cousin, twice removed, once added back.
Yep, and maybe William Shakespeare was my great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-great-grandfather's 6th cousin.
I'd still consider that a point of debate, but "how evil this country is" tends to be a point of subjectivity. I actually have an easier solution: they were all horrible and we shouldn't in any way degrade just how awful they were by saying one was less awful than another.
I still consider ussr much higher than mao's china or the Khmer rouge, sure we killed some folks, But we also lifted millions of people out of poverty. Brought literacy to the masses. Created a massive industrilaized superpower. Was the ussr flawed? yes, but so are all countries (Except Finland ). the government may have committed horrific autrocities but the people were by far some of the best during the ussr. Its hard for westernsers to understand this but the Asian (or eastern) mindset is just far more accustomed to authoritarian leadership and to many people in Russia and China and other eastern countries a strong government is a necessity not a hinderance. Now some might say wha about Japan? Japan changed a lot since 1945. South Korea changed a lot also but we must forget SK had a dictator for its first 2 decades or so.
I agree with your idea about the Eastern mindset, but please don't handwave seventy years of atrocities and terror with "but they also built roads!"

I could just repeat what Bobbywan said, but I'll just iterate that while the Soviet Union did industrialize a rural Russia, their living standards were still far below that of their neighbors to the West, their technology was decades behind, and in addition to the atrocities they committed they created some of the terrible regimes you mentioned, such as North Korea and the PRC.

Well, I assume the millions of people who suffered from the USSR, which was arguably the most evil country of all time, are happy it is gone
most evil country? Congratulations to Hitler's Germany, Mao's china, Musolini's Italy, imperial japan, Taliban, isis, North Korea, Khmer rouge you are no longer the most evil countries in the world. The sad thing is... you probably have no idea how people lived in most places in the ussr post the 1930's. You probably also don't know much about the worst leader in Russian history: Boris Yeltsin.
ISIS isn't really a country, as much as it would like to say it is. Still, it tries to run like one. Not disagreeing with your point, just pointing this out.
