Just over 8 months ago, it was announced that the LMBs were shutting down. With that came confusion and hurt as users struggled to figure out why this was happening. It was then that LMB Eternal was created to be a safe place for users to reunite. LMB Eternal has run for several months now with volunteer moderators to whom I am extremely grateful. Unfortunately, various factors are forcing me to shut down LMBE. However, unlike when the LMBs shut down, I plan to explain exactly why LMBE is shutting down, but more importantly, to ensure all of you lovely users are able to find a place to relocate to once LMBE shuts down. Furthermore, there will be no need for another archival effort, as the entirety of LMBE will stay online; it will just be impossible to post or do anything really.
Now, why is LMBE shutting down? The biggest reason is that I have too strong of a connection to LMBE, and I absolutely must disconnect myself from the site. Since I hold the main administrative account, I have and feel certain obligations to the site. Very soon, I will be unable to both fulfill those obligations and fulfill other obligations in my actual life which are very important to my future success.
Now, you may be wondering why I don't just take a leave of absence like in March earlier this year. When I left in March, LMBE was left in the hands of others. Unfortunately, all of the experienced administrators on LMBE either have left already or are preparing to leave very soon. Therefore, I cannot leave LMBE in anyone else's hands for now. Even if I could, I still have obligations to this site which I cannot remove (yeah when you make a site there are terms and conditions... you should read them sometime. Even beyond those, though, I feel a connection to this site). It's not possible for me to simply leave completely and keep the site running.
I'm sure many of you have more questions, but some of this is rather delicate to me and/or others, so I may be unable to answer some questions. However, if you have questions, please DO NOT POST THEM HERE, because I will be gone until I shut the site down on Saturday. Instead, contact me at one of the places listed below. You'll probably find me most quickly at LMBW.
The archives will still be updated here on LMBE, but we are also working out a place for them to go on the LMB Wiki. Any questions about the archives should be directed to TopSecretSpyGuy at legomessageboards.wikia.com/wiki/Message_Wall:TopSecretSpyGuy . Also feel free to contact Top if you are unable to contact me.
Now, this is the final thing: where should LMBErs meet up now? Several other LEGO fan communities exist, so I recommend you try those. The ones listed below are probably not pre-moderated like LMBE, and so they're all just a little bit less safe than LMBE. Regardless, they generally try to be reasonable.

They invited people from the LMBs to join there, and they try to be kid-friendly. At least that's what the rules say. Honest disclaimer: I only just joined and have not posted, so I don't really know too much about it. Feel free to chime in with input.

I realize this is very sudden, and I very much apologize. Please feel free to make angry comments and yell at me, and then remember that all of us staff put forth countless hours to even run this site in the first place. In all seriousness, you all are an awesome community, and I'm really sad to have to say goodbye. I hope to see you all on some of these other sites!
Oh, and you really are welcome to post comments here about this and whatever. You are also welcome to exchange contact information IN JAMMERS. (This is so people who don't want to see your contact info don't have to, also because it is extra-confusing and I wanted to do that for giggles. ) As I said, though, don't ask me questions here because I won't see them before I shut down posting.
