I've always been fascinated by ghosts. How some spirits go to rest after the death of their body and others do not intrigues me. That was why I wanted to take the tour of Sensei Yang's Temple. But little did I think I'd become one of those restless souls myself.

"OK, everyone," the tour guide said. "That's all for our tour today. I'm sorry we couldn't go deeper into the temple, but our group is too large. Anyway, on the bus, folks!" I climbed onto the bus with everyone else, then the doors shut and we drove away. Facing the sunset, it was too bright to watch out the windows much, so I found myself studying my lap. On it sat my purse, one I had chosen for its large size, so I could carry my gi in it. I rarely had opportunity to save the day, but you know, I want to have it just in case. Which reminded me that I ought to check to see if it's gotten wrinkled. I opened my purse-- and noticed something strange. My left arm was bare, where my favorite bracelet usually was. It had dropped! I frantically searched my lap, seat, and the surrounding bus floor for my bracelet. It wasn't there. My stomach did a flip. "Anyone seen a gold bracelet?" I called out. Several voices replied "No," and a got down on the floor to help me look. By the time we had reached the next stop, we had searched the whole bus. We found two spiders, three cunai, and an old bag of cheese puffs, but no bracelet. "Stop No. 2! All who are getting off, do so now!" The bus driver called. Several people stood up and walked out. The bus doors were starting to close. "Hey! Wait!" I cried, jumping up and grabbing my purse. This wasn't actually my stop, but I had to go back and find my bracelet. The doors reopened and I leaped out. The bus drove away as I ran in the direction of the temple. The sun had nearly set now, so I decided to duck into an alley and change into my gi. I pulled on the black pants and white top with gold trim, then tied on the black belt and white mask. There. I stuffed my street clothes into my purse and continued my journey. I know, it looks weird, a ninja carrying a purse. But I wasn't about to just leave my belongings in some alley for rats and thieves to take. Night had completely fallen by the time I reached the temple. With some trouble I opened the huge wooden doors and stepped inside. It was dark, naturally, but I was prepared. I pulled out a small flashlight from my purse, turned it on, and began to walk through the room, shining the light all around. Fortunately the bracelet was metal and would gleam in the light, and make it easier to find. And I did find it. It was in the dining room, of all places, on one of the chairs. I picked it up and was running out when I realized- I was here alone. I could explore the parts the tour guide didn't show. I eagerly ran up the stairs and opened the first door on the left. It was a closet. Mildly disappointed, I went to the next door left unopened during the tour. I opened it and suddenly I saw a green glow- and it vanished. I looked around the room. It had a rug on the floor, covered with ancient symbols. Cushions surrounded it. A special candle used for smoke visions stood in the middle of the floor, flickering but still lit. Then I realized-- I had just stumbled upon a ghost meeting! Clearly Yang and his students had been here just a moment ago, watching the smoke visions. Then I came in and they vanished. I squealed. I had seen ghosts! But where were they now? I ran out of the room back into the hall, floorboards creaking underneath me. I looked around, trying to think of where they might have gone. Then I saw a flight of stairs going up. That had to be it. Finally remembering to be stealthy, I tread light!y up the steps, hardly making a sound. I reached the top and continued to tiptoe along. Nothing. I headed to the next room. I opened the door and darkness met me. I frowned. Surely, they were up here somewhere! But these were the only rooms on this floor. I stepped into the room just to check, and heard a board or two cracking a bit under my feet. But it seemed to hold me. Suddenly there was a flash of green in my face. I jumped-- and went through the cracked floor. I recall falling about ten feet before I passed out. I think I even heard laughter as I fell, but that may have been my imagination. I woke up sore and groggy but otherwise uninjured. But I had seen enough. I was out of here. Checking to make sure I still had everything, I ran down the steps to the first floor. I rushed towards the door-- and saw a crack of light faintly shining through. "No!" I cried. If I stayed in here any longer the curse would come on me. Naturally, the door decided to stick. I frantically beat at the door , eventually making enough room for me to slip through. It turned out to be unnecessary. I went right through the solid doors and stumbled into the early light. I looked down at myself. It was as I feared. I was now a ghost. "No!" I cried. Much as ghosts interested me, I didn't want to be one myself! I stood there feeling helpless for several moments. Then I realized-- It was morning! I was supposed to be home yesterday evening! My parents would be worried! I ran towards Ninjago City, where my home was. At least, as a ghost, I wouldn't get tired. But then bigger problems arose. I was scaring everyone. People screamed and dashed to get out of my way as I rushed through the streets. I slowed down and stopped. What was I going to do? I had to get home, but I couldn't be causing such a disturbance. I'm a ninja, I'm supposed to keep the peace, not break it! I his between two buildings and sat down. I sighed, tears forming in my eyes. How could I live like this?
