I agree. But I think the Sons of Garmadon seem like they should've been villains from a while ago. I mean, why would people who possibly worship Garmadon not appear until 3 seasons after Garmadon was destroyed? They seem like they should've been the villains of seasons 5 or 6, with the ghosts and/or sky pirates and vermillion/time twins being bumped up to the next seasons over.
My only big complaint so far is the fact that Lloyd has green eyes now, because all the humans in Ninjago have black and white eyes. Also, I wish the Time Twins were the villains for season 8. I liked them, and these new 'Garmadon cultists' seem like a lazy excuse for villains. I guess I'll just have to see. However, it's been confirmed that the fate of the Ultra Dragon will be revealed in Season 8, and I'm all for that!
So, you want Season 8 to reuse the exact same villains from last season instead of giving us something new?
Anyway, let's just hope that we get better villains than what the trailer showed us. It's a sneak peek for something that's coming next year, so we haven't really seen enough to judge.
Well I'm thinking it could be like season 2, where the first half of the season has the villains from the last season, and the second half of the season has new villains. Wow, I just wrote "season" a lot.
Yeah, I think the villains from the trailer are just pawns for a bigger baddie.
I thought that the sneak peak showed a Ninjago 5+ years in the future, and it will likely be much more mature. (Because Lloyd is much more mature)
If it does take place in the far future, it'll explain the changes on the ninja Tommy Andreasan was talking about.
I also feel that the creators will try to make the season better and easier to understand for new viewers to reel in more fans. You can already see that with Lloyd looking more like his movie counterpart, and the other ninja will probably also look more like their movie selves.
I'm really looking forward to season 8- the Sons of Garmadon appear to be a group of evil demons (perhaps connected in some way to the Stone Army-like mask they stole) who are inspired by Garmadon and seek to remake Ninjago in his image. I like how they seem to be mirrors of the Ninja in a way as well. The graphics look absolutely amazing, but I'm honestly not a fan of Lloyd. The hair and voice are perfectly fine to me, but the change in eyes seems too random for my liking. I wouldn't have minded a combination of show and movie Lloyd for his design, but simply copying the movie design doesn't work for me. Luckily, the other ninja are only going to have minor changes such as Nya's hair (the movie hair is better anyway) and Jay's freckles (I don't mind it as long as it doesn't look odd). The only change from the movie I would hate (besides Lloyd's eyes) is Kai's hair being as crazy as it is in the movie.

I think the vehicle sets look cool. So far I'm not a fan of the new spinner arena-type set. The big temple/cave set is cool though; it reminds me of Tiger Widow Island, but bigger.
