There are lots of times when I feel bored so I tend to do some writing. These are usually just simple stuff that I write for fun, but some of them are pretty interesting. So, I've decided to share them with you all. Here is a few oneshots or short stories for you to read and enjoy. Some may be canon to my RP characters and some are just fun ideas. I'll try to specify which are which. So, without further ado, enjoy!
My name is Eliza Niet. I may seem like an ordinary human, but I'm not. You see, I wasn't born, but rather created.
I remember the first time I opened my eyes. I was in a small but comfortable bedroom. The walls and furniture were very simple. I assume it was originally for one of the scientists if they wanted to stay over night.
The first person I saw was the person who had a large part in creating me. She told me her name was Emy. When I asked what my name was, she smiled gently.
"I thought you would like the honour of choosing your name. I wouldn't want to call you something that you didn't like."
This woman seemed kind, so I asked her where I was. Again, she answered without hesitation and looking me straight in the eyes.
"You are in my personal fortress on the moon of a planet called Valousafa; the moon's name is Valuer."
I asked where I came from and why I couldn't seem to remember anything.
"That's a little harder to answer. You see, I found you or at least a part of who you are now. I sent a team of researchers to another of Valousafa's moons, Jial. They discovered an old, partially submerged labratory that dated back thousands of years. They found several databanks that were still salvageable. They also found the DNA of a female Jedi from the Old Republic era. They brought back as much as they could from the labratory and I put my best scientists to work on studying it. Turns out the lab belonged to a man named Gru Alli. He was a mad scientist and the databanks testified to this fact. They told of numerous horrifying and inhumane experiments. In one of the entries, he detailed the kidnapping of a powerful Jedi Knight named Zurri Lama. It isn't exactly clear what became of her but it was nothing good. When the scientists informed me that her DNA was surprisingly intact, I was excited. But there was a catch, if we wanted to revitalize her, we would need to graft her DNA onto a sort of genetic lifeline. My DNA was the only suitable substitute, so I volunteered. So in a sense you are Zurri Lama, but you are also myself."
This was a lot for me to process.
She laid a hand on my arm and spoke again. "Thing is, you are not just the combination of two people. You are a completely separate and unique person. That is why I didn't already give you a name."
I remained silent.
"I do have other personal business to take care of, but you will not be alone. Several of my best scientists are monitoring you. They will look after you. If you need anything, please feel free to ask them."
Emy left me alone then. The next few days were spent with the other scientists. They seemed nice enough, but it just didn't feel right. They did run a few tests on my body, but nothing too major.
One day I just couldn't take it any more. The stress from these tests, the fact that I felt like a fish out of water, and knowing that I wasn't like any of the other people here made me snap. I'm still not entirely sure what I did, but during a simple test of my intellect, I felt an overwelming amount of dizzyness and the room began to spin. I remember starting to panic. The voices of the scientists seemed to warp and come from every direction. So I lashed out. I wasn't directing this at anything in particular, but then everything seemed to stop. I found myself in the dark and I felt like I was floating. I began to panic again, but this time a voice seemed to penetrate my thoughts until all I could think of was the speaker. I recognized her gentle tone but there seemed to be a twinge of fear also. It was Emy.
"Hey! Stop. Its ok. No one is going to hurt you. You are alright. Relax. You need to open your eyes."
The more she talked, the more aware of my surroundings I felt. The darkness seemed to slowly dissipate to be replaced by a soft purple glow. I opened my eyes to find that I was floating above the tile floor. I sucked in a sharp breath as I stared around the room that had once been a small labratory.
The room had been pretty much destroyed. All the metal furniture had been either crushed or twisted into uselessness. Most of the lights had been smashed and the door seemed to have been forced open. The two scientists who had been with you were sprawled out around the room. They appeared to be unconscious and badly hurt.
I covered my mouth with my hands as my eyes fastened themselves on the person keeping me in mid-air. Emy was down on one knee, clutching her chest with one hand and keeping me suspended with her other outstretched hand. Her black robes were badly torn in several places and she had a large cut over one eye. She also seemed to be gasping for breath. Two other scientists were kneeling next to her; they seemed to be trying to help her stand to her feet.
I was slowly lowered to the ground, but my legs felt like jelly so I knelt down on the floor; too scared to go to Emy and I suddenly felt extremely weak.
The two scientists managed to get Emy to stand, but she was leaning heavily on them.
"Get...the medical team...quickly," she gasped.
"They are already on their way, along with security," one of the scientists spoke.
"I don't...want her hurt," Emy responded while beckoning in my direction.
The next few hours were largely a blur for me. I was placed in a room and mostly left alone, while Emy and the injured scientists were taken to the medical bay. Finally another person let me out of the room.
He told me to come with him. When I asked him why, he responded with,"Lady Emerald has requested to speak with you." I suddenly felt very small and vulnerable, but I went with him anyway.
After a bit of a walk and a few elevator rides, we reached the medical bay. The man opened a door and motioned for me to enter. Which I did, then the door closed behind me.
"Greetings."
I almost jumped but once again, I recognized that voice. I cautiously approached the bed that Emy was lying on.
She was hooked up to several machines, including an IV. She also had several bandages across her chest and the cut above her eye. A breathing mask was also nearby in case of emergency.
I started to tell her how sorry I was and that I hadn't meant to do it, but I stopped when I was halfway through. She had a sad look in her eyes, which pained me to see.
"Look, its ok. I know you didn't mean to hurt me or anyone else for that matter. And I forgive you for that. There was no permanent damage, the other scientists will be alright in time, and I'll be back on my feet in a few days. I just want to know what happened to cause this episode. Was one of the scientists being cruel to you?"
I told her everything. About how I felt about myself, about the emptiness inside me, and how I wanted to know more about who I was supposed to be. She listened very carefully; her eyes never straying from my face.
She sighed and stared out into space. After a few awkward moments, Emy spoke again. "I should have known better to leave you with no one you knew. I'm afraid most of this is my fault."
I started to protest, when she turned and looked me straight in the eyes, sternly before quietly speaking.
"No, it was my fault. I know what that is like and how you would have felt. I'm terribly sorry. Please, forgive me. I don't know what I can do if anything, to truly make it up to you."
Frankly, I was shocked. At first I couldn't speak, but when I did, I told her that I forgave her. I also told Emy that she didn't have to make it up to me, but she insisted.
"What you just did, is amazing! I've never seen someone with no training cause that much damage. I've heard of it, but I never thought I'd see something like it. How about if I train you to use these abilities?"
I grinned. Of course I wanted to know how to use them, but I was nervous.
This all happened almost ten years ago, I've learned so much under Emy and even completed a few missions of my own. She didn't just treat me as a student, but also as her own child. Whatever happens next, I will support her all the way through it.
OOC: This is a oneshot I wrote for my npc, Eliza Niet. I hope this explains a bit more of her background and I hope you enjoyed reading this. If you have any questions or comments, please let me know.
