I believe local internet should function, but the days of Dream Town exploration might be over next year 2024. Nintendo figured it out all our plans and now the chapter of New Leaf and Splatoon1 draws to a close. (Except I learned that third party providers are working on a solution.)

Super Mario RPG has released for the Nintendo Switch on November 17th! =D (I apologize for not announcing this on the actual release date, I also have been too busy to play it yet. However, I look forward to giving my thoughts on it when I get the chance!)
{Other news that some may not be as interested in} Additionally, I have become aware that LEGO Ideas does not allow any Touhou Project-related submissions, presumably due to its "violation" of the second submission guideline, which prohibits "religious references including symbols, buildings, or people" even though this is a fictitious example, as with the blatant religious references in the LEGO Indiana Jones theme.
On top of that, several other guidelines are violated repeatedly by other themes, including one guideline specifically stating "first-person shooter video games" are not allowed, when LEGO Overwatch literally exists. The full list of guidelines can be found on the LEGO Ideas website, under the "Acceptable Content" category.
While I am disappointed and more than a little annoyed by this revelation, I recognize that there really isn't anything that can be done about it, as well as the fact that if it's been evaluated already, LEGO is unlikely to change their evaluation.
... Unless they could be convinced that it would be incredibly popular and profitable. Maybe =P

As niche as it might be, you could not convince me Lego Fumo wouldn't be flying off the shelves.
Lego Indiana Jones breaks a lot of rules, honestly. Clearly, it was not thought that far through, considering the hilarious vagueness of who the "villians" are in the sets.

Profile icon elements for several different titles have been released for a limited-time rerun on the Nintendo Switch, including elements for Fire Emblem Engage, Metroid Prime Remastered, and more. After the first set of rewards, most titles will return on a later date with a different set of rewards. The full list of titles whose profile icon elements will be returning is as follows:
Fire Emblem Engage rewards will return until December 29th, and again on January 3rd Metroid Prime Remastered rewards will return until December 28th, and again on January 2nd Detective Pikachu Returns rewards will return on December 28th, and again on January 4th Kirby's Return to Dreamland Deluxe rewards will return on December 29th, and again on January 5th Pikmin 4 rewards will return on December 30th, and again on January 6th Super Mario RPG rewards will return on December 31st, and again on January 7th WarioWare: Move It! rewards will return on January 1st
I expect there will be a small window of overlap between most of these, as the current sets of rewards will remain for a couple of days before expiring. Hopefully this gives everyone the chance to claim profile icon elements they may have missed before, it actually has helped me collect a few I didn't get to the first time! =D

That's cool! thanks for sharing! Too bad I missed it btw, is that you Waffles? Its me, Ash3d! I was part of the old lego and nintendo fan club, even the one on Lego Life! I believe we talked with a user who I forgot the name of, who wrote JAPON, Just a Pair of Nixels?

I remember you! =D Yes, it's me as well! It's so nice to have you back! =D While I'm not certain, I believe you're thinking of Ciblast, a member of the fanclub who also made a fair amount of Mixels content? Unfortunately, they haven't been on lately, but it's always possible they'll show up again. I hadn't seen you for a while either, until now =P

Yeah, that's him! Too bad he isn't around anymore. Well, maybe he'll come back like I did one day.
BTW Have you played the new Super Mario RPG yet? I haven't yet but I'm still deciding whether or not to play it or the SNES version...

I hope he does, we all miss him. I'm glad you've returned though, it's always wonderful to get to talk with an old friend again =D I have, I've actually been putting off writing a review for it for a while =P I would definitely recommend playing it if you can afford it, both versions are very fun and the remake offers a fair bit of new content. Ultimately it's up to you which one you want to play, if either of them, but I think either one would be an enjoyable experience if you like that sort of game!

Super Mario RPG (remake for the Nintendo Switch) review (minor spoilers)
Though it's been a little while since I finished the game, I haven't had time to fully write a review for it yet, but now I can! =D Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars was already an incredible game, and the remake has only expanded on that. Everything that made the original so charming (at least in my opinion) has been faithfully recreated, from the characters, to the music, to the environments... A few minor localization changes have been made, including Frogfucius now being known as the "Frog Sage", and Punchinello no longer being "James Bomb". (thankfully Toadofsky's name remains) Similarly, the minigames at Grate Guy's Casino no longer feature gambling, which has been somewhat of a consistent theme in remakes of games that did, such as the Game Corners in Pokémon games. There are also certain changes to the gameplay, which I think are overall very helpful. Mallow gets one of his abilities as soon as he joins you rather than by levelling up; and a Toad near the start of the game gives you an item to detect hidden treasures that could be difficult to find otherwise, whereas in the original game you don't get this item until near the end. One fairly substantial gameplay change is that in battle, the basic attack, magic, item, and defend commands can now be performed exclusively with the A button, which can be more intuitive if you're going into the game for the first time. However, you also have the option to use the original control scheme, which can be enabled through the System menu in the game. In addition to the change to Punchinello's dialogue, Mallow unfortunately no longer mentions Bruce Lee before the Bowyer fight.
Ultimately I think that it's readily apparent in its quality that the Super Mario RPG remake is a game full of love and reverence for the original. I got a special enjoyment out of it after having played the original, but I don't think doing so is really necessary to the full experience. I would say it's an excellent game, and I hope that the Paper Mario: the Thousand-Year Door remake will be made with just as much care as this one!
{Other, more minor changes that may not be as important} Along with other character names being localized differently, the generic "Magikoopa" character from the original game has now been given a unique name, Wizakoopa, along with Bowser's other underlings, Jagger and Goomhilde. This establishes that the Magikoopa seen in Super Mario RPG is definitely different from Kamek, HOWEVER! Although it's likely just speculation, Wizakoopa's name is very similar to Wizenheimer, a Magikoopa from the Super Mario World TV series, suggesting that perhaps they're the same character?
Yeah, that's him! Too bad he isn't around anymore. Well, maybe he'll come back like I did one day.

Thanks for the advice, I'll start with the new one I think then. What are your thoughts on the Zelda movie coming out?

Always happy to help, I hope you enjoy it! =D I'm looking forward to it, a live-action Zelda movie isn't what I would have predicted, but I think it still has potential to be very good. The 'feel' of Legend of Zelda usually seems like it could be difficult to translate into a movie, but after how well the Super Mario movie did I believe Nintendo will be putting a lot of effort into getting it right.

My thoughts exactly. I think the deciding factor of whether or not it will be good is if Link talks or not.
