"B-but," Lucy tried to protest in vain
Her tears were falling faster than the rain
But then she realized that it was true
That she should get up and move on too
To the future with her loving husband
Who now had grabbed her hand
"Lucy my dear, I found you now!
Please don't fret, let me fix your frown."
An' pulled her gently in warm embrace
Heart throbs wore away; into his chest she sighed
He led her away; she looked and waved 'goodbye'
Annabelle Jane, a small child though
Smiled upon her sister with wisdom old
And suddenly 'round the yard
Fifty more ghosts shimmered from the dark
Like a family around Annabelle Jane they stood
An' looking upon the motley crew, Lucy's hole in her heart filled )
Lucy's face brightened and she lifted her brow
She understood she could be happy now
"Goodbye Annabelle Jane, my sister dear,"
She said softly as she wiped a happy tear
"Not goodbye!" Annabelle called out
"See you later," she said without a doubt
With that the many spirits flickered away
And Lucy stepped forward into a new day
