She overhears some bat scientists in the throne room gossiping about Dr. Benjamin's strange expedition. Bat: "I'm telling you, the guy has lost it! He must've spent too long underground." Another Bat: "While I do find Benjamin's way of going about things to be...unconventional, I look forward to seeing what new information he'll bring back from the northern regions." Another Bat: "That is, if he even returns. He said it was going to be a short expedition, but he left with his 'volunteers' a while ago..."

Lewis Luggington speedor-drives over the mountains and through the jungle, arriving at Black Fang Mountain. Bat guards fly down to him and ask why he is there. Lewis: "I am here on behalf of True Chima News, to get an interview with King Bliston." Bat: "Our King is very busy. He is currently on his way to Gorilla HQ. But after his business there is done, he'll return here." Lewis: "Okay." Lewis sits down beneath a tree, waiting, as bats watch him.
