Why do I feel groggy? The kind when you wake up in a cage. Except I'm not in a cage. I'm sitting on a roof ledge. Why? I was thinking about jumping.
Why can't I do it? Why can't I jump? Why can I forget her?
I'm sorry. My name is Lloyd Garmadon. Yes, I'm the Green Ninja. No, I have not gone crazy. Long story short, I met a girl. If you are a boy: Do not groan. Your day will soon come. If you are a girl: This isn't your typical Love Story, so go ahead and squeal.
She, uh.., she was something. I'll tell you that. Still is, I guess. She gave me a letter, and I feel like I need to share it with you.
It says: "Dear Lover of my Future, "I am sure you would like to know the truth of my actions. My parents were not the best parents. I believe they would have gotten rid of me if given the choice. "They struck a deal with someone. I am writing this before he takes me away, so at this point, I don't know who it is. Anyway, this deal was they had to have a child and he would take it away when it turned 13. That would be today. "I do not know what I am going to do, but I am pretty sure it won't be used for good. I think he is after my power, wanting to use it for himself. It scares me that I might use it for bad things, making me think that this 13-year-old girl is still a 6-year-old girl waiting for her Prince Charming to take her away inside. I'm starting to doubt that now. "I am afraid I must leave, now. Goodbye, my love.
"With love,
"Rose"
I feel sorry for her. The fact she had to put up with bad people.
Anyway, I think it's time someone other than me heard this story.
When 20-year-old Tino Väinämöinen ends up far, far away from his home in the forests of Finland, the young man seeks his comfort zone in the snowy Birchwood Forest. But what he found there was nothing like he expected...
... I cannot see it clearly, I've fought, I've trained, and I did the best I could... The one man who found me, after I was abandoned from my biological parents... The one man who cared for me... he left a long while ago, and it has been three days… I walked and walked the streets of Ninjago City, wondering where he was. All the people who looked at me, were silent, they refused to answer any of my questions… they were all too scared to answer me, I’ve asked... "Have you've seen this man?" "I'm looking for my care taker... can you please point out where he was last seen?" "I want to find my care taker... he's gone missing from me..." “..Help me please; I need to find my father… I really miss him…!”
… But All I was ever responded to was this insult about 85% of the time: "Go slither back to the hole where you were once buried from!!!" I hated most people who discriminated me. The people who shunned The Serpentine - my kind - for a long time; many centuries ago in fact. And now they've accepted us as a legend. like nothing ever happened between the Human and the Serpentine Races; like no wars ever happened between us. Humans, sometimes... I don't understand their customs, their ideas and their logic. The day was soon ending relatively fast... I kept on searching for him, I remember his voice quite well, I remember his face of greasy black hair, bushy eyebrows, illustrious yellow skin that was dry due to being in dirt and stones for many an hour, and black eyes that sparkled when the sun hits them just right… and he was still as handsome as ever...
I've wanted to give up searching in the back of my head, but nay... I wanted to find him, the shadows of the tall buildings loomed over me, being black monoliths in the orange skies of the sunset. I felt hopeless, I felt weak, but I still felt determined to find him. I kept running, i felt his presence, being that I can feel the earth in my scaly feet, and I could feel his bio-rhythm (Another reason why my biological parents abandoned me in the first place, plus the earthen powers because I had such “ungodly powers of the Serpentine.” Well… at least to the generals...) I ran faster and faster, until it led me to a dark alleyway... I walked cautiously; I walked with my mind set to tighten my defenses. I wondered if he was here... I felt his biorhythms deeply, and strongly. I walked into the darkness, and my four glowing reddish-yellow hypnotic Eyes went into their night-vision mode, but against the blue and green vision I see, I saw the shine of something golden, its glow was nothing compared to beauty, until I realized it was one of the four golden weapons! I picked up the Golden Scythe of Quakes, my caretaker’s legendary weapon that can control the earth, even turn into a cool vehicle if you can concentrate just right. I was looking at myself in its blade's reflection, it had a olive green stain of Venomari acid on it, but the blade was undamaged, itself. I stared at myself for a long time within the stain. It’s glow suddenly died out, and I looked over my shoulder, my eyes looking surprised...
...I saw a shadow move back into the darkness… I thought it was my father… my caretaker...
And THATS all you need to know about my story, A Snake's Grief; The Story of Ryen Soto. It used to be a good story on the Ninjago Story boards a while back... and i'm redeeming it with better quality, i keep revising it!
All I remember is that trees were falling and there were explosions, and then this excruciating pain in my neck, some blurry faces, and then I was in a soft bed of snow, something soft and papery surrounding my neck area as I tried to speak, and then I was in a hard cott, looking as if I had just awoken from a nightmare.
When regaining consciousness after a terrible accident in the Birchwood Forest, Hanna Julien couldn't speak, nor could she remember her past. She was in a hospital-like building filled with suspicious individuals who were supposed to do "surgery" on robots, but in reality, they only removed anything that didn't work properly.
They took my memory. They took my voice. They took Jay, and Zane, and everyone I knew...
Hanna wanted more than anything to regain her memory and return home, but after her car crashed when trying to remember how to drive, was it even possible?

Can we advertise non-Ninjago stories here? It's OK if we can't, I'm just wondering.

THE YOUNG WARRIOR A Ninjago Fan-Fiction
For the record, the story isn't written like a film script. Also, although most of the lines reflect events in the story, they didn't actually say most of the stuff there, but the emotions and events to happen. However, the line about the stamp collection and the iguana were straight from the story.
For those who want their previews not in a trailer way, here are some writing samples:
Finally! After two painful hours of science geography, and arithmetic, Wu had taken Andrew to train. “Remember,” Wu had said, “It will take quite a while before you possess even the minor reflexes and skills of a ninja.” “Yeah, yeah.” Andrew said quickly. He wasn’t really listening. He was going to zip right past all of those training obstacles like nobody had ever seen before. He was going to show that silly old man what he was made of, and then he’d realize his talent and it’d be the end of school. Perhaps he’d be so good he’d be crowned a ninja immediately. Perhaps he’s immediately find his full potential, unlock spinjitzu and airjitzu, and become the most powerful ninja ever. He was going to be like one of those super-athletic experts who zoomed their way past the obstacles of Most Ultimate Extreme Ninja Challenge Ever, but better. Andrew stood in front of the obstacle. It was a bar swinging around, and Andrew’s mission was to get past it. He almost laughed at it. It looked so simple, dull and feeble. Not only would he clear it, but he’d make mincemeat out of the obstacle (not to say that Andrew knew what mincemeat was). He’d prove his amazing worthiness. He’d prove his fantastic greatness. As he stepped up do it, ready to stupendously leap of the clumsy, wooden bar, he thought to himself: I am going to- Andrew’s thought was never finished, as he was immediately whacked in the ribs by a spinning bar.
Andrew still laid in his bed, mushing his face into his pillow in attempt to grab a bit more sleep. A few minutes later, Wu came up to the bedroom telling him to get up. Andrew groggily refused. It was only a few minutes before Wu was pulling Andrew from the torso whilst Andrew firmly held on to the sheets. "Get up!" Wu commanded. "No!" Andrew shouted. In the end, to Andrew's dismay, Wu prevailed. Andrew hopped down the rickety wooden stairs, making loud thumps as he went. He sat down at his chair, where two cold pancakes awaited him. The pancakes weren't very good cold, but that was Andrew's fault for waiting so long, which made him even grumpier. The boys all ate their food slowly like zombies, but Nya seemed bright and cheerful. "Could somebody pass the butter?" She chirped. Kai simply groaned and handed her the dainty butter plate. "Are you guys okay?" She asked. "What happened?" As if on a command, all of the male ninja immediately pointed to Andrew, who sunk lower into his chair. Wu sighed.
“I have my doubts.” Lloyd said suspiciously. “You’re about as trustworthy as Ronin.” “I am not!” Chen argued. “Who’s Ronin anyway? Anyway, if you don’t believe me, just ask Iggy!” Chen then placed a green, spiky object on the counter. Nya cringed. “Is that a . . . lizard?” Nya pondered. “No it’s not!” Chen said, as he began to give the creature a light squeeze. “She’s an iguana! Duh!” Looking at the iguana, he then cooed: “Don’t worry, little Iggy; she’s just a silly ninja who knows nothing about anything. She didn’t mean any harm. He looked up at Nya again. “How dare you call her a lizard?!” He shouted. “You hurt her feelings!”
Story advertising topic, eh? *grin* Well, when in Rome. . . !
It was quite a long time ago, but she recalled vicious battles, heroic warriors, and ancient enemies, all an intricate story in a distant land. She remembered a dark warrior with a heart as cold as ice, a good friend with the power of earth, and a brave boy with eyes like emeralds. She remembered. . .
Her hands balled into fists, and her mouth tightened. That was no ordinary thief that stole the stone. If her worst fears were confirmed, if that creature was what she thought it was, then that meant. . .
The witch said a single word, a name that triggered the memory of a forgotten journey from long ago.
“Cole.”
She gazed at the stars out the door for nearly two full minutes, then whipped around and resolutely snatched a little blue teapot from a dusty shelf. With a determined expression she stared at the teapot in her hands. She then murmured. “Time to return to Ninjago.”
* * * “There was something else about that girl,” Kai recalled thoughtfully. “There were some kind of weird marks under her sunglasses; like tattoos or something.”
“What do you mean?” Lloyd asked.
“They looked like the end of some long claw scratches, like scars going vertically across her eyes. It was weird, and I didn’t get a good look at them.”
Whilst the others shrugged and made feeble suggestions to what it was, Cole froze in his tracks. Nobody saw how his face drained of color, how his fingers gripped the box, or the shocked look of recognition in his eyes. For a few seconds he just stood there, staring into space.

Skylor collected dirty dishes and napkins from the tables in Mister Chen’s Noodle House, the clatter of dishes and her footsteps the only sound in the empty restaurant. She glanced at the clock in the kitchen and noted that it was about nine o’clock. Kai should be here soon.
With a damp cloth she wiped at the greasy tables, then heard the front door open. Turning around, she saw a woman step inside, blinking at the harsh light.
“Sorry ma’am, we’re closed for the night.” Skylor gestured to the ‘CLOSED’ sign hanging at one of the windows. “We open at nine tomorrow morning.”
“I’m not here for noodles.” The stranger murmured.
Skylor cocked an eyebrow and inspected the woman. She was dressed oddly; crudely-sewn animal furs acted as a cloak, shirt, and a long, ragged skirt. She was barefoot, her skin was pale, and her cold eyes were like amber. Her long, scraggly, tawny-colored hair was bound into a messy braid hanging down her back. Skylor was slightly disgusted to realize that the woman was wearing the actual skins of what looked like rabbits, weasels, mink, and probably more. Though she was sure she had never met this character before, she thought there was something familiar about her.
Warily, Skylor put her hands on her hips and asked. “What are you here for, then?”
The woman tilted her head haughtily.
Skylor narrowed her eyes. “Who are you? Do I know you?”
The stranger gave a deep, menacing chuckle. “No. . .” Her gaze locked with Skylor’s. “. . . But I know you.”
She grinned, showing inhuman spiky teeth, and sprang.
* * * Jay suppressed a shiver. Cole’s friend or not, Liana could be rather creepy. It was utterly eery how she walked about silently, seemed to sense where objects were without touching them, and how her movements were swift and smooth at the same time. Her milky-gray eyes and white scars were chilling to look at. Her quiet and secretive nature rather reminded Jay of cats.
Cats. . .
Jay stifled a gasp, and his eyes widened in shock. Hesitantly, he backed away from the door, staring at the spot where Liana was just standing.
How could he have not seen it before??

Just a few sneak peeks at the story I'm writing; "Ninjago: Roots of Earth". If anyone's interested, I've posted the beginning recently here.
Interesting, I do believe I shall advertise my story here! First, however, I must explain something. I've never written from Lloyd's PoV and I'm not sure if I've written him too much like the other ninja and there are probably tons of plot holes and other sloppiness. I've also never written a fanfic in present-day Ninjago so please forgive my rookie mistakes. I hope you all...
"Enjoy!" --waiter/waitresses around the world.

Looking up from the book and throwing it down on the table with a bang, she strode over to the door of her isolated home in the forest, “Night is coming,” She looked up at the near-dawn sky, breathing in the crisp air and gazing at the stunning moonlit peaks of the Jagged Peak mountains in the far distance, “And I think I know who can stop her.”

“Dr. Jones.”
Lloyd glanced over Tori’s shoulder to see a tall woman approaching them. She wore a short black dress and shiny black heels. Shoulder length black hair fell to her shoulders, framing arching eyebrows, dark, narrowed eyes and a confident, smug smile. From her impeccably straight, glossy hair to her sure expression to the very way she held herself, she had an air of confidence and power. One hand was cocked on her hip and one eyebrow arched higher that the other. Queen Confidence was flanked by serious, statues of bodyguards so straight-faced Lloyd wondered if ‘humor’ was even in their vocabularies.
A brief look of worry and almost fear crossed Tori’s face but she quickly composed herself and turned up her own confidence, “Why, Madame Night! What a pleasant surprise!” She said with a winning smile.
“I see a display has been removed from the Hall of the Nekoyama,” Madame Night said, “a very important artifact.”
Then she reached out and grabbed a handle hidden under the back shelf, pulled out the set of shelves like a door, revealing a passage. Lloyd gasped as a cold gust of stale air blasted Lloyd in the face, smelling of dust and mildew. The woman stuffed a wrinkled piece of parchment into his hand and pushed Lloyd in to the passageway.
"What?" Lloyd asked, still confused, "What is going on? Who is coming?" He asked, awkwardly standing there with the paper.
The door rattled again and a snarl was heard.
The old woman scowled, “Be strong, be vigilant, trust you team and stay ALIVE, Lloyd, for something is coming to rule Ninjago, now only the power of two will save us all,” She closed the door, leaving him in the poorly-lit tunnel.

“And yes, I’m fine just a little startled, I—Lloyd?” she breathed, clasping a hand to her heart.
Lloyd gasped. He studied the girl. Silky chestnut-brown hair fell in wavy locks half way down her back with one streak dyed blue in the front and another pink. Her bright blue eyes revealed memories of the past, memories of friendship, betrayal and shattered families. She wore a dark purple jacket over a black and blue shirt and jeans. “It’s been a long time...” he trailed off in an incredulous tone. “Jenna.”

“Ok, I wil—wait, did you say di—AAAUHH! AAAAAAAHHH! JAAAAAAY!! GET ME DOWN FROM HERE! HEEEEELP! I AM THE BROWN NINJA AND I DEMAND THAT YOU PUT ME DOWN! AAAAAUGH!” The Brown Ninja screamed shrilly.
“Do you think we should do something about that?” Nya asked, crossing her arms and glaring at where Jay had been.
“Its—its fine, I mean, what’s the worst Jay could do? Probably fly in tight circles upside down but who would d—” Lloyd’s reply was stopped by more frantic shrieking.
“STOP FLYING IN TIGHT CIRCLES UPSIDE DOWN, JAY! WHO DOES THAT?!?!!” Dareth screeched at the top of his lungs.
“You were saying?” Nya asked, cocking a hand on her hip.

So I'll be posting the prologue of my fan-fiction, Claws of Night, in the next few days and post chapters regularly.
