"That is a most likely a hyperbole. You only remember a minimal fraction of your past." Essa stated calmly. "Oh yeah? What if this is the rest of our lives? What if there's nothing else? If we're all willing to run ourselves into the ground, then let's get on with it." "There are many options other then 'running into the ground'." "Not if there is literally nothing other then what we have already seen. More tunnel, more concrete, more people trying to shoot us because we left our homes." "Does it seem a bit late to start thinking of Steelgate as home to anyone else?" "Not if this is all there is." "Try to keep your courage up. There must be more out here." "Who talks like that anyway?" "You're in shock, I can understand..."No, I'm not in-" At this point Boomer caused an explosion between ESAanimals, who was almost in tears, and Darkclaw, who was obviously in shock, knocking them both back down. "SHUTUP! Everyone stop now! We're probably all in shock, but we can't crash yet, we have to keep moving. We can't turn on each other now. We must rely on each other now more than ever." Boomer looked at the faces of his friends. "Nexo is gone, but we can't just give up. We've gone through door to the outside, we can't stop now and give up right outside the door." No one spoke long enough for silence to settle again. Then wordlessly Darkclaw stood up, reached down and pulled Essa to her feet. Dumbledore placed a hand on Darkclaw's shoulder. After another moment's delay they started walking...

Epilogue: Warden Kingwja considered himself lucky to have escaped intact. The last thing he wanted was to be called in, probably, to discus what the LEGO City Council employees were now calling "the Steelgate Disaster." He pulled up, and sat in his car for 5 minutes before getting out and going into the building. He had been kept waiting for almost 2 hours, when he was finally collected and ushered into the council chamber. CONT...

If the epilogue doesn't say anything more about what happened to the main characters, then i'll go with yes.

Thank you for the feed back. Any opinions or constructive criticism on the story?
The LEGO Message Boards Eternal City Council ruling chamber was a grand, sweeping room. Or at least it was fifty years ago. Before the dust had settled inches thick, and the paint had peeled and faded. The lack of windows made the room look dingy and imposing. Kingwja was guided by the Aide de Civitas, Caroline Dominicae, to stand in front of the bench and wait for the council men and women to return from their private chambers, just as he had done on his other visits to the council. He looked at all the carvings in the walls and columns and wondered for the first time what all the carvings meant. He turned back when he heard the door behind the bench open. IceFire took the central seat, Z-whales took the seat to his right, Phantom of the LMBEs took the seat to IceFire's left, Benboy took the seat to her left, JayPIE took the final seat to the right of Z-whales. IceFire looked down over the bench to the archivist, Marcus Brock, and requested he be absent during this appointment. "Warden Kingwja, the recent occurrences at your facility have come to the attention of this council." began IceFire. "Wait, I did everything by the book. What more did you expect? You can't-""IT has also come to the attention of this council, through countless hours of interviews and much deliberation, that you are not the individual to blame." Phantom of the LMBEs spoke into her microphone "The council has decided that it is time for you to retire as a public servant of the LMBEs. Further more the council has decided you and your family are eligible to be awarded a fatretirement package, in the tropics." It took a full minute for Kingwja to register that the Council was not trying to burn him for the disaster. IceFire leaned back while removing his glasses and rubbing the bridge of his nose. "Look, King, there was nothing you could have done. Frankly, I think you've been working hard, and you've earned this as much as any of us. Think about it. Call us. Let us know." Miss Dominicae had reentered unobtrusively and was now beckoning for Kingwja to follow her back out. After the door closed, and a moment of silence, IceFire said, "I think he bought it." with a sneer.
