Hello all. This is a story I first wrote as a mini series on the LEGO Star Wars Gallery, then began to rewrite as a traditional story for the LMBs. I've now decided to reupload what I had started and continue writing it. It follows my Clone Wars RP character, CC-1163, as he experiences the Clone Wars. Many of the named characters in the story are the roleplay characters of other users, and all of these scenarios are based on events that happened in the roleplay. I hope you enjoy.
It was a calm night. The sky was empty, except for the faint light of the planet’s three moons, and the millions of stars twinkling in the sky. The only sounds came from tiny insects, chirping harmoniously with one another. However, not all was as innocent as it seemed. There was a large compound on the surface, secretly constructed by the Confederacy of Independent Systems. For several weeks now this base, and the factories within, had been producing thousands of battle droids each day, which had been crippling the Republic’s ability to keep control of the sector.
To the occupants of the factory, it was a night like any other: peaceful and uneventful. The base commander was preparing to retreat to his quarters, after having enjoyed a dinner with a Separatist General who was inspecting the base. The commander had no idea that over two thousand Clone Troopers were preparing to march on his facility within the hour.
It was decided by Republic High Command that an initial direct assault on the compound would be far too hazardous, so a special ops insertion directly into the base to neutralize its defences was decided on being the most advantageous option. The 2nd Shadow Company, under the command of Commander Kellar, was to be tasked with the operation. Three squads were to be dropped by gunship into the factory separately, then each proceed to their individual objectives. Once complete, they would rendezvous and exit the factory unnoticed. A standard operation for the troopers of Shadow Company. But, as these soldiers of the Republic have come to learn many times, nothing ever goes according to plan.
And sometimes, that is the way it is intended to be.
The gunship flew silently over the rolling hills and forests that comprised the majority of the planet’s landscape. Unlike most gunship rides, this one did not comprise of the constant jerking around and dodging of lasers that many clones had come to familiarity with. No, this flight was smooth. Almost peaceful. Almost.
Thanks to an experimental cloaking device, the gunship was completely undetectable by the factory’s sensors, which would allow Razor Squad to enter the factory unnoticed. The other two squads- Ion and Nightraider, would make their entrance once Razor had completed their objective, which was neutralizing the base’s defenses. Nightraider’s objective was to sabotage the assembly lines of the factory in order to minimize enemy reinforcements once the assault began. Nobody in Razor Squad knew Ion Squad’s objective. This was standard procedure for Shadow Company, due to the nature of their operations: each soldier or team operated on a need-to-know basis for each mission.
Razor’s gunship neared the factory. Inside, the clones whispered quietly to one another, making sure weapons and gear were set. One clone, a shiny, looked out one of the viewports at the menacing anti-air turrets that were unknowingly pointing directly at the gunship. As the gunship slowed to a hover over the command center, the shiny turned to the clone next to him. “Sergeant, are you sure this device is working? What if this is just a trap, and they’re letting us in?” The sergeant turned to the clone who spoke to him and replied in a reassuring tone, “Relax, the Seppies aren’t that smart. If they knew we were here, this gunship would be a pile of scrap metal a mile away. No, everything is working fine.” The shiny returned to looking out the viewport, at least somewhat reassured.

A clone who was standing in the front of the gunship made his way over to where the sergeant was standing and asked him, “Ben, is your team ready?” The sergeant turned to face him. “We’re ready to go, Dust. On your word” Dust turned to face the majority of the squad. He began to speak: calmly, but with great confidence, “Men, there isn’t much to say now. Every clone knows his part. It’s a standard op, something we’ve gone through on the simulators dozens of times on Kamino. The rest of Shadow Company ready, and we’re right on schedule; we jump in 90 seconds. Remember, this is a covert operation. Silenced weapons only. It is crucial that we remain undetected. Have I made myself clear?” Every clone responded automatically, “Yes sir, Lieutenant!” At this point each clone went through their final mission preparations. Some rechecked their blaster power cells, others packed in a few extra ration pouches. Ben, after double checking the power readings on his dual DC-17 blaster pistols, turned to one of his closest friends in Razor Squad, nicknamed Long, who was in the same batch as Ben. “You ready for this one Ben?” Long asked. “I was born ready for this mission,” Ben replied. “So was I,” Long replied. Both were serious; they, like all clones, had been trained since birth to fight for, and if necessary, give their lives for the Republic. Ben and Long’s batch in particular had been chosen to receive additional training to prepare them for roles in special operations.
Ben and Long continued to whisper until the cabin of the gunship grew quiet as the time to enter the factory approached. Suddenly, the lights went out and were replaced with a red indicator light- it was time. The doors opened and a rush of cool air swept in, though the clones could barely feel it through their armor. Ben, who was closest to the door, looked down. It was roughly a thousand meter drop down to the roof of the command center. As he did this each clone simultaneously checked the repulsor harness of the clone in front of him. Since Ben was in the front he instead waited for the signal from Dust that they were clear to jump. Dust nodded to him. Ben nodded back, then turned back to face the open air. He hit a switch, changing the red light to a green one: clear to disembark. Ben looked down once more, then calmly took two steps forwards, and began his plunge to the planet’s surface.
The members of Razor Squad plummeted towards the enemy base. Ben’s heads-up-display displayed his altitude as he came closer to the surface. 700. 600. 500. 400. At 300 meters Ben pulled a tag attached to his armor, activating his repulsor harness. He felt a jerk upwards as it kicked in, and looked up to see the rest of Razor Squad doing the same. After a minute of slowly descending through the night, the clones touched down on the roof of the command center. They silently met on the north corner of the roof, where there was a hatch leading into the building. Dust spoke up, “Alright men, it’s showtime. Just like we rehearsed it. Ben and Team One will enter first, and take control of the command room. Once that is accomplished, myself and Team Two will move in and prepare to cover Ion Squad as they complete their objective. I want a full scan of the building before we move; we need to know what we’re up against.” Ben activated a thermal scanner on his helmet, and looked down into the building below him. Five droids were patrolling the other side of the building, and there were another ten a few floors down. Ben then turned towards the center of the building towards the command center, and recoiled a little. “Ben, what is it?” Dust asked. Ben turned towards the rest of the group, “We’ve got a problem. The area around the command center is heavily guarded. And while there aren’t very many cameras on these top floors, there are security cameras in nearly every hallway around the command center. We won’t be able to get close without taking out those cameras.” “Affirmative. In that case, we’re scratching the original plan. Ben, take your team and commandeer the security room. Once you’re there, send me word, and my team will take the control room.” “You got it, boss”
A clone slowly opened the hatch. Long nodded to Ben, then dropped down. Two more clones followed suit, then finally Ben. The four clones creeped down the hallway, eventually reaching the hallway that the security room was in. Ben peeked around the corner at the door. It was a long corridor, with the door at the very end. There was a camera directly outside the door, and to make matters worse, there weren’t any alternate paths. Ben turned back to his team. “Alright, there isn’t any easy way to do this. We’re going to have to rush the security room. Remember, this has to be quiet, otherwise the whole base will know we’re here. Long, take point. I’ll be right behind you. On your count.” Long stood up, and drew his blaster. “3, 2, 1, Go!” The four clones turned the corner and ran in a dead sprint down the hallway. When they were just over halfway there the door opened and a single battle droid stepped out. “What, clones? What are you doing here?” In one swift motion Long unsheathed his combat knife and threw it at the droid, piercing it directly between its photoreceptors. The other droids in the room stood upon hearing the destroyed droid hit the floor, but it was too late. Ben and his team charged into the room and took down the droids before they had a chance to react.

Thank you very much! I actually saw your post because I'm the one who moderated it. [] It was very well written!
Aw, thank you! I wanted to make it a bit fancier, but I was in a rush. []
Sometimes I wonder about if it'd be worth it to try and fancy-ize my posts, but like you I'm usually in too much of a rush to change my font color or anything. []
