Recently I've been playing a neat little game called Snake Pass on the Xbox One. Here is my mini-review.
Story: Snake Pass keeps this simple. The world of Haven Tor has been attacked and robbed of its guardians. The snake Noodle and his hummingbird companion must travel to restore these guardians.
Gameplay: This is where things get interesting. Snake Pass has an unusual control scheme that is meant to simulate moving like a snake. Shockingly, this works. You move forward by pressing RT. You control the direction you move in by moving the left control stick back and forth. You have to combine these to move side to side while slithering to gain speed. You can also lift your head by pressing A, lift your tail by pressing Y, and grip around poles with LT. in each stage you must find 3 gems to restore the stage's guardian. You can also find 20 blue orbs and 5 gold coins in each stage. The fun in this comes from figuring out how maneuver around the stages with this unusual control scheme.
Difficulty:
Snake Pass starts off very easy, but becomes increasingly more difficult with each world. The game does a very good job of easing you in to its strange style of gameplay. There are 4 worlds, but the third was actually the hardest to me.
Sound: I'm not going to lie, I play games with my TV on very low volume, so I don't pay much attention to the music. The music I did hear was fairly solid, though. The music can get repetitive sometimes as each level takes a fairly long time to complete. The sound effects are well done and definitely fit what is happening in the game.
The issue: The collectibles are meaningless. The 20 orbs and 5 coins per stage unlock nothing extra. I had no motivation to collect these items. They only give you achievements, nothing in-game
Price:
I think $15 is reasonable for the game. There are 15 quality levels here with a strong concept backing them.

Please only talk about games that are suitable for LMBE. I'm not sure of the rules on here but I'm guessing it's the same as LMBE rules (E10+ or 12A unless it's an official LEGO game).
