But that's not Briatin. Britain is the island... You could make a case for Northern Ireland, since it's part of the U.K., even if technically not on Britain, but not Ireland. And never, ever tell a native born Irish person they're British, they'll probably get very mad.
On Rome, it was getting really old, and all great empires must come to an end. While there are a multitude of factors, I'd say some of the main ones are it's vast territory, that was extremely overstretched and thus hard to properly administrate and defend, corruption, of course, both moral and economic. But I can't think of a main factor. As for the Gracchi brothers, I happen to watch the history session of an youtube channel, and they made a small season about them. Really interesting.
Back to Britain, I love their comedy, and culture. They have great authors, an interesting history, rain, tea, and influenced and still influence many, many countries. They made history.
Interesting. Sort of like Reformed (Calvinistic) Baptists? We are sort of like old-fashioned Protestants.
That's part of my reason. I don't think Rome ever worked to be ruled by one person, it was too large and powerful. That's why Rome switched from the kingdom to republic. But when Diocletian split the Empire, that didn't work, because he really made 4 new empires. And it eventually became 2, but it never had it's glory again. The Gracchi brothers are one of my favorite parts of Roman history. I wrote a 5 page paper on them for school (I'm homeschooled). I love reading Plutarch, he tells in the stories in such an interesting and eloquent way.
Yes, Britain is great. I want to go there someday, London, Edinburgh, Belfast, Dublin, ah, what a great country! I have to go to York too, that's where Constantine was crowned.
I'm sorry if I haven't posted in a while, I've had lots of work to do, and I had to go through several traffic jams, as there have been riots in the city centre…
Yes, Calvinistic Baptists, of course. But I'm at a Presbyterian church at the time.
*Mutters something about Istanbul being Constantinople.* What I find to be interesting is that the Eastern Empire started to change so much that at a certain point, that it became extremely different from what we generally think when somebody says "Roman Empire".
Britain is in a much better state. Just now, there are protests and riots because the government is having budget cuts, which makes no sense...
Poor example, then. But you understand what I mean.
Idk... I mean, I think he'll turn good, but I still hope not. I like tragic.
Eh, it's got history in Lucas' development of SW, so I like it. Did you know in one of the early drafts of ANH, there was a character named 'Mace Windy'.
You say tomato, I saw tomato. That doesn't really work when you type it.
lol, Okay. I understand what you're saying too.
True. Tragic is good, and he is a tragic character already.
lol Windy. I guess they later used that character with a different name.
I know what you mean. Still technically wrong.
...
To a degree, yes.
Yep. I love it when they retool some of Lucas' work from his early draft into new stuff. The Whills. Anthologies. Etc.
