Alright, guys, I'm going temporarily inactive here... The other boards haven't been closed yet, and I want to spend all my forum-time on them until they do. You can find me there if you want to chat. I'll be here the second posting closes, though, probably.
Watched a few episodes of a certain detective show you like. I found out they were doing one based on the short story The Dying Detective, which is the first Holmes story I read, and my favorite so I had to check it out. It's cool! They changed it drastically from the short story (which is A LOT simpler) but I liked it. Then I watched few others and got into some of the overall arc over the entire series.
Anyway, I was reading a few articles on it, and I was wondering why everyone is like "Sherrinford doesn't exist! They have a sister instead!"... I mean, they do have a sister, and Sherrinford might not be their brother, (unless they have a secret brother AND sister, which may be a bit excessive) but HE'S SOMEONE. Mycroft is in contact with him in some way or another. They even teased the name at ComicCon in relation to the last episode. My guess (or, well, more like an unlikely possibility that is just fun to speculate) is that perhaps it's a code name for Moriarty, who the Government is utilizing in someway while keeping it a secret that he's still alive. Maybe? Okay, that's probably ridiculous, but Sherrinford still exists in some way.
ALSO, speaking of Moriarty, how have they not used Sebastian Moran yet? He's probably the second best known Holmes villain, and Moriarty's second in command. They could use him in a bunch of ways... Moriarty's right hand man, a totally unrelated guy, or even a Moriarty copycat. I wouldn't be terribly surprised if he's in the next one in some way, which takes its name from a story featuring Moriarty.
Lastly, also something to think about in regards to the next episode. In the books they mention that Moriarty has a brother... But it's never twins, is it?
Nice!! It's an awesome show. And if you like Season 4 so far it's no where NEAR as good as the other three!
Ooohh that's true. I think they may raise some inconsistencies if she's Sherlock's brother. But I like the Sherrinford/Moriarty theory! They've gone absolutely nowhere with it so far in Season 4 and I'm just WAITINGGG. XD
I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS ALL ALONG. They even used the name Moran for someone in the first episode of Season 3, but they didn't go anywhere with it, and I don't think he was Seb. THe only answer I've thought of is that they're saving him for something down the line, which I guess is better than treating him as one of the more boring, expendible antaognists we've gotten.
But still. Colonel Sebastian Moran. Naow.
LOL I was literally about to say, what if she's Moriarty's sister? It might be a bit convoluted but I can totally see it. Moriarty's game is getting inside Sherlock and Watson's heads, and this would definitely be one way to do it.

Well, TBH, the S4E1 was a bit mediocre, but S4E2 was GREAT. Toby Jones was majorly creepy. I had no idea he was that good of an actor. And I watched some more... Found some online. S2E3 is one of the greatest episodes of television I've ever seen. Absolutely brilliant.
It'd certainly be interesting, if nothing else. XD I'm honestly on board with whatever they do. It's been terrific so far.
Really? Wow, I didn't even notice. That's cool, but if that's the only mention we ever get, I'll be REALLY disappointed. It'd be a genuine waste. If they're planning on using him, next episode is the time to do it... Could be the last one, and it'll almost certainly at least be the last one with Moriarty.
Ditto.
THAT COOOOOULD WORK. I'm fairly certain Euros is actually they're sister, since Mycroft mentions her as shaping Sherlock in the trailer for TFP, but perhaps this isn't the REAL Euros? Maybe Sherrinford IS the obvious answer and common theory of being the place where they keep her, and Moriarty just brought out this imposter?
"There must be something satisfying about the number three. People always stop looking after three."
Euros = 3 Sherrinford = 4
Dang. Hiding in plain sight.
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH SNAP
ant you're smart this is exactly what moffat would do XD
Can't take full credit on this one... I didn't notice the line at first, then read some article which said that maybe it meant they were making a secret fourth episode, which is ludicrous because you don't use the title 'The Final Problem' if you're planning another episode in at least the season, if not the series. HOWEVER, a brother made sense. I hope it's correct, because I kind of want another brother, too. XD
