EE, I hear you and Mace are trying to create a separate board for the LOTR RP. I would be very interested in helping you out, and returning to my post in Dol Amroth. Have you done any work on it yet?
Old sci-fi is the best sci-fi! v this is not old sci-fi Maxim 3: An ordnance technician at a dead run outranks everybody. Maxim 24: Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from a big gun.
"“Even by the twenty-second century, no way had yet been discovered of keeping elderly and conservative scientists from occupying crucial administrative positions. Indeed, it was doubted if the problem ever would be solved.” ^That, on the other hand, is old sci-fi.
That is how I found out about this place too. If we have the same goal in mind by all means I suggest we should work together rather than apart.
The only consern I have with this current site at the moment is the inclusion of the word "LEGO" in the site's domain name. Main reason being the copyright use and that perhaps we might have to use an alternative? Like "BrickMessenger' or something....
Subtle differences in domain names can't really be used to press charges with. Just look at all the scam sites that are typos of famous websites.
Problem is, this isn't a subtle difference. It's literally saying "legomessageboards" and uses the word "lego" in its name.... And regardless it's still technically copyright infringement and such.

In any event, I understand your concern. However, having read extensively on copyright laws, I assure you that we're not technically infringing anything. They can still ask us to change our name, but until that event, we're good.

Alrighty then! I just wanted to make sure there was a backup plan on the off chance there was an issue there. XP
And yes I'm aware of the LMB Wiki. Though I feel it's a bit different as its a Wikipedia devoted to... being an encyclopedia of the orginal site? Not just its own site.... But yeah, as long as the domain can be easily altered if there an offense taken.
This place did not come up when I searched "Lego Message Boards". Perhaps it needs that in the name and not just URL?
This site is less than 48 hours old. If it did come up, I would be surprised. Nonetheless, we should probably include it in the name, too.

Concerning the whole copyright-name-thing, I think that it is usually only a problem if the 2nd-level domain contains "Lego" or a trademarked Lego term like "Bionicle". Since this site's 2nd-level domain is "boards", I don't think it will be a problem.
Fun fact: BZPower.com used to be 2 separate sister sites: BZCommunity.com (forums) and KanohiPower.com (news), which were merged because the owners knew each other very well and wanted to save money on hosting. BZCommunity.com was initially BionicleZoneCommunity.com, until Lego made them change the name of the website because of the "Bionicle" in the name.
