Do they deactivate in mass amounts of heat? (Such as Plasma or super heated fire) Is getting them to hit something the only way they will work?

1) I was using Star Wars laser blast stuff just surrounding the disk. That is kinda the way I base most of my plasma attacks 2) The outer layer of disk would most likely be completely ruined due to the level of heat.

There would also be a considerable amount of radiation that might harm anyone within sight, but Nikan IS insane, so...?

Kakama does not effect reaction time, as evidenced by pretty much every canon user of the Mask of Speed. Also, you never explained what the outer shell really was.

Uh, the outer shell of the desk that got damaged by the super hot plasma ....I mean a kanoka could fly through fire without damage yes, but plasma? I think some amount of damage would occur. Also when was this other disk thrown?
