"You may leave fellow worker.” Another voice called out. This one was different. It sounded very robotic and disguised.
A person appeared from the shadows. They were dressed in a burgundy suit of armor and their face was covered with a metal helmet. Skylor had to admit, the armor was impressive. With its intricate number of sculpted designs and details and the cape of this person looked as if it was made from pure silk.
“I’m going to get right to my point. You seem to be a girl who would do the same.”
The man began to pace around the room. Even though he wasn’t looking directly at her, Skylor could still feel eyes glaring down her back.
“The truth is my dear…I need you.”
Skylor chuckled. “And you just expect me to hand myself over to you?” she said, sarcasm in her tone.
“Of course not. That would be unwise to expect from you.” He replied.
He then walked over to where she was standing and leaned down to her height.
“I want to make a deal with you.” He whispered.
Skylor cringed. “Why would you think I would ever make a deal with you or your people? I know who you are…I know what you did to...t-to-” she couldn’t even say it without getting choked up.
“You’re talking about your mother, Shiera, aren’t you…” he began.
Skylor flinched.
She hadn’t heard that name in years. She refused to use it.
“You took her away from me.” Skylor muttered under her breath.
He began to laugh. “No, I didn’t.”
Skylor clenched her fist in frustration. Her heart blazed with anger at how...joking his tone was. How dare him.
“That's one of the reasons why I brought you here child…” he began.
"Alive...alive...alive. She's alive?" She repeated the words in her mind several times.
Her brain just couldn't comprehend the possibility.
No...he was lying. This was a trap. Her mother wasn't alive. She couldn't be.
She saw them attack her. She was gone.
Wasn't she?
"No she's n-not," Skylor's voice cracked as she forced out the words."She can't be."
She closed her eyes and bit down on her tongue to distract her mind from the wave of emotions that came over her.
"Yes, she is." The man pulled out a diamond shapped jewel from his pocket along with a red colored head scarf and showed it to Skylor.
"These belong to her don't they?"
Skylor refused to look up.
"Look at it child!" he yelled.
Skylor slowly lifted up her head.
He was right. It was her mother's. The name "Shiera" was embroidered with gold thread within the scarf and the jewel looked exactly like the ruby stone her mother wore on her forehead.
“Where did you get these from?!” she questioned. Perhaps it was forged…or stolen.
“You still don’t believe me do you?” he said.
“You kidnap me, hurt my friends and then come tell me my mother is alive? Yeah, I’m having a hard time believing that.” She yelled. Honestly, Skylor didn’t know if she should be happy…or extremely furious right now.
“Show me her. Show her right now!” Skylor yelled.
“Now, now. You’re getting ahead of yourself,” he started,” remember …I said I wanted to make a deal with you.”
“What kind of deal?” Skylor questioned.
“Like I said…I need your help to accomplish some goals. If you help me I’ll bring you too your mother.”
The armored man sighed. “Really Skylor? I’d thought this would be easy and I wouldn’t have to resort to other measures, but if seeing your beloved mother isn’t enough…I have other ways.”
“What ways…”
“Oh just a little something we did to you when we caught you. Did you notice how weak you felt when you tried to stand? Well honey, that’s not to only side effect.”
"You see ...we injected you with something different then we did that other girl. This virus effects the neural networks of your mind. Giving me power to enforce pain and control of you without even touching you."
Skylor watched with cautious eyes as he pulled what looked like a remote out of his pocket.
“See this. This is your worst nightmare because when I press this nice shiny red button this happens.”
As soon as his finger tapped it Skylor felt immediate pain up her spine.
She dropped to her knees.
“GAH!” she cried.
Then is spread throughout her.
Her legs, arms, and sides all felt as if they were set on fire. As if she were being burning from the inside out.
“Does it hurt yet? Because that’s just the beginning level. I can turn it up if you need more convincing.” He pressed it another three times.
Skylor screamed and fell over to her side. Her arms were still chained to her back and they were blocking the use of her powers.
She was virtually helpless.
“Stop…please.” She whispered through the tears that now fell from her face.
“What’s that? I couldn’t quite here it…did you say turn it up?” he pushed to button again.
Skylor’s body jerked as the pain increased. “UGH-Stop. Stop please!” she cried. “I-I’ll…help you.”
She probably just made the worst decision of her life, but right now she would do anything to relive herself from that pain.Plus, if this man was right and her mother really was alive she owed it to her to at least try to find her.
It did seem far fetched though. After all these years...all of a sudden she just shows up one day.
This very well could be a trap. A trap she was going to play right into.
She really didn't care. If there was even a one percent chance that her mother was alive she was going to take it.
"What do you want me to do?" she questioned.
"You two to do.." he corrected her.
"This is of my many assistants, K'lynn, who will be helping you."
"Pleasure to be of service." K'lynn bowed in front of Skylor. He wore on out similar to his master, but without the cape.
His voice was male Skylor guessed, but it was hard to tell because it was even more robotically altered than "Torture Man".
What did these people have to hide?
"What do you want us to do?" she questioned again. This time more harshly.
*Alright, alright. I know this part is extremely short, but at least its something right? =P Honestly right now i'm still working on something with this story so chapters may be slow for a couple of days. Just hang in there.*
Skylor twisted her lip. "I said I would help you. What else do you want?" she muttered under her breath.
'' Probably not much, ok then. I'l tell you. There's something I want. It's in Ninjago, or rather under Ninjago. We've been searching for it for years, but now...I've finally found the locations. What I need you to do...is make it possible for me to extract this...item."
"How am I supposed to do that? Where is this place?" Skylor questioned.
"Several villages in Ninjago. I want you to burn them."
Skylor's eyes widened as she stepped back.
"You want me to burn villages?! I'm not doing that!"
The armored man sighed. "You won't be the one setting the fire sweetie. I just need you the stop your little ninja friends from getting in the way."
"What about the people! They're going to be burned?"
"No. Or course not. I'm not that evil.Well, heh. I am, but I'm not going to do that."
"The people won't be hurt...I promise. My army will do its thing. You just have to...supervise. In a way."
"Why do you need me for this? I'm sure your army is well equipped to do this themselves! Why me!" Skylor yelled.
"Because, I like you Skylor. I really do, I like your mother as well. You're quite like her in some ways. I'd figure this would help you. Do a little favor for me...get mommy in return ...its all quite simple really. I'm not asking for much."
"What's under those villages?"
"Ah, now. I can't tell you everything. You'll find out in time, but I need to hear you say it again. Do we have a deal?"
Skylor paused for a moment. One side of her wanted to jump in and say yes. She wouldn't be hurting anyone. Just trying to save her mother. That's all she wanted.
Then the other side of her remembered the ninja...and her new "not following my evil father" life. She was trying to leave that behind.
"Don't hesitate now. I told you, I have other ways of convincing you to participate. Oh! Did I mention something else about those injections we gave you?"
Skylor sighed. She was frustrated, tired, and really ticked off.
"What now!" she yelled.
"Temper temper...hmm. Must be your fire boyfriend wearing off on you."
Skylor's face flushed red, both with anger and embarrassment, "He's not my boyfriend!" she snapped.
"You sure wish he was though...don't you."
Skylor just continued to glare at him.
"How do you even know about him?"
"Because, I have people everywhere. How did you think we were able to track you?"
"I have eyes everywhere. Keep that in mind."
"I'm surprised you haven't brought up the fact that the ninja aren't here trying to rescue you. I'd thought you'd check those back pockets of yours by now."
Skylor ran her hand against the back of her pants...her phone. It was gone.
"Why did you take my phone?"
"Because spiky hair decide he was going to text you constantly until you answered. It was getting on my nerves so, we sent a little response saying you went home."
Skylor rolled her eyes. "Can we just finish this... you were saying something about the injection?"
"I was getting to it." he snapped back.
"Anyway, we also injected you with a slow acting virus. You don't feel it now, but slowly it will crawl up on you. It may be an ache one day, cramps the next, sharp stings in your side. It could be any of these, but...it will come slowly. In a way you could describe it as destroying you from the inside out. There is a cure and I will give it to you, but only after we are done."
Skylor couldn't believe this. He was kidding right? Slow poison?
"Don't you think you have enough grip on me! Why this too?"
He just responded with a shrug, which ticked her off more.
It was time to wrap this up.
"When are we supposed to start and more importantly what is your name? Can you at least tell me that?"
"Tolin, call me Master Tolin."
"Your not my master." Skylor hissed.
He smiled. "Our deal says otherwise."
She narrowed her eyes. "Had enough? Can I leave now? "
Tolin sighed. "I guess so." he said in a sad teasing tone.
K'lynn and Skylor walked out the door and back into the hall.
K'lynn hadn't said anything since Tolin introduced him, but something was odd...about him.
Skylor couldn't tell what it was, but it was something. He didn't come off as confident as the other men. In a way he almost looked nervous.
Maybe he was new...or brought in like she was. If she could break him, then maybe...just maybe she'd have a chance to get out of this. Or at least a partner to help her stay one step ahead of Tolin.
She decided to break the silence with some conversation.
"How do you even put up with this? Does he always do this to you?" Skylor question K'lynn as they walked some more.
He remained silent, but still glanced back at her briefly. Skylor had no idea that in that moment K'lynn was receiving new orders on now to take her home in a ear piece that was hidden by his helmet.
She placed her hands on her hips and sighed. "Oh, so you can't talk now? It's going to very hard to work with you if don't use your words."
K'lynn stopped walking and turned to face Skylor. He stared at her for a while.
Even though Skylor couldn't see his face she could feel him looking at her. Almost if he felt guilty...
"I really don't want to do this to you, but..."
"Do w-"
Before Skylor could even finish her sentence a black leather clothed fist came and hit her right in the face.
K'lynn sighed as he lifted Skylor's body over his shoulder. He had to drop her back home before she woke up. He knew she would be angry and he didn't want to be the receiver of that anger. Not today.
When Skylor woke up she found herself laying on her bed in her apartment.
"At least I'm finally out of there."she thought.
Skylor then noticed a small note next to her."Sorry, I'll explain later.~K'lynn"
"Okay?" she questioned, confused.
Her phone began to buzz again. K'lynn must have grabbed it before he knocked her out.
She still didn't know what to think of him. She didn't know whether she felt sorry for him or just didn't trust him.
He gave off mixed signals. He knocked her out, but apologizes for it before hand. One thing she did know was that he was hiding something...something from her. Maybe that little bit of doubt he had would be enough to convince him to come to her side. It would have to be.
Then she looked back at her phone.
"30 new messages from Kai" it read.
She opened up the newest one.
"Hey, I hope you made it home ok." it began.
Sure, if you think getting hit upside the head is fun.
"Are you alright? Do you want to talk? I'm here if you need me Sky."
Skylor went to hit the respond button, but then something stopped her.
She couldn't tell him about this...not yet. This was her problem and the ninja didn't need to get involved.
She would just have to distract them a little.
She sighed again for what had the be the millionth time today.
This didn't feel right. How could she hide this from them?
Maybe she should tell them...then they can work together. That would be good right?
No. Wait. That wouldn't be good. Tolin would fine someway to hurt them if she did...or worse.
Tolin. Her eyes narrowed as she said his name. That Jerk stole her mother and now she was going to do him a favor?
Something about him disturbed her. He didn't only seem just "mean", but crazy as well. Plain crazy. The way he would stroke objects and laugh at things. He tried to get into your head with intimate private details. The way you could just feel him laughing and enjoying himself inside as he inflicted pain on you.
Skylor questioned if the man was even mentally stable.
He hated life right now. In fact he hated everything. This fake show he had to put on to please Tolin, hurting people for no good reason. Not being able to tell Skylor what he knew about her mother. The real truth of where she was.
No, he just stood there. Stood there and watched as she was questioned and tortured. ...He just stood there like a fool..
He hated all of this, but it wasn't time yet. If K'lynn told Skylor now Tolin would be sure to find out that Shiera had escaped his "prison" and had taken an identity within his army to find out what he was up too.
He just couldn't tell her yet, but the truth would be found out soon enough.
Hey oh! Well, I'm all caught up and ready for more. That is if your still doing this one. I didn't expect her mother to be free already but with K'lynn I was kind of guessing at a change of heart. I didn't know he would already be on the good side so quickly though. So all in all good plot line I'm not seeing totally through it. Very good job.
Wow, this really bring backs old memories of being on the forum for me. I can't believe it's been so long... (And yes I am the old Leia1020 from the original messageboards. If you remember me, hi!)
Aw, I absolutely love this story. . . Will this archive ever be continued?
It was is a great story! I, unfortunately, do not have any screenshots of it, and I'm not sure if egorsmirnov will.
Well. . . *glances over shoulder* . . . I happen to have the entire story copied down on the computer, so if I wanted I could post the rest of it here. The thing is, I promised Brickgirl I wouldn't copy or basically mess around with her story, and I don't know if posting it in an archive would count.
