We've seen Portal and Sonic in LEGO Dimensions, so it only makes sense that Year 3 will bring a new videogame franchise. So why not Legend of Zelda? It's extremely recognizable and very popular right now with the release of Breath of the Wild.
One problem with this is that other non-Nintendo consoles might not agree with including a Nintendo franchise on their console and will stop allowing updates on their system.
Any Nintendo franchise in Lego Dimensions would be cool, but usually Nintendo wants their characters on their consoles only, so it probably won't happen.

My thoughts exactly. Those games/characters are Nintendo exclusive and probably the only reason people buy Nintendo. Maybe it'll come out on the Wii U version.

Yeah, but then people could just use the figure on their Xbox/PlayStations (even if it was in the WiiU starter pack)

Oh yeah, forgot about that. Then I doubt they'd do it.
Lots of companies license their characters to Nintendo, but not vice versa. Might be because last time they did that we got the Zelda CD-i games and Hotel Mario.

Ah, the Hotel Mario incident. Did you know that that little bugger caused the birth of the PlayStation? Terrible.

Yeah, those games... Nintendo fans don't talk about them.
