No they're not. We had a pet python, she was cool, but other snakes are not. Some of them (brown snakes and taipans) are very aggressive. They're not placid like pythons and red bellies, they'll charge you down if you accidentally disturb them. There is an abundance of snakes where I live. Hence the school logo.
It is, but I'm sure they're only poking fun at me.
How's your Australian one? Most people struggle and end up going full country/Dundee style.
Ah. I guess it makes sense that someone from Australia would like snakes less than others. But I still think snakes are very cool. Not when they bite someone, of course.
There's a limit to poking fun. Like saying someone looks like Hitler. That's too far.
Not bad. At least I don't think so. I haven't heard many real Australians, however, I assume that Bruce the shark and P. Sherman the dentist from Finding Nemo are good examples, as their voice actors are native Australians. And they're who I go off of.
Like water off a duck's back. Words. Better than taking it to heart I guess, but you're probably right.
Hmm... I'd probably call them Dundee/country accents. They over do it and people love that. It's like Steve Irwin. His accent is strictly native to the Beerwahrians (AKA people of Beerwah ie his children and fans). Allegedly, there is a women in Beerwah who taught the Irwins to speak that way.
Geoffrey Rush in interviews is, I think, a good example of an older Australian accent. Toni Collette is a good example of a common Australian women's accent. I feel like the "blockbuster" actors tend to exaggerate their accents or lose it over time. Our athletes have the most untarnished accents.
But yeah, P. Sherman and Bruce, like the Irwins have very forced accents. I don't think I've ever actually said g'day to a non-foreigner. We all put on our special accent for foreigners, especially in film.

Interesting. So I should listen to an Australian athlete if I want to make my accent more realistic?
