You're welcome. Ah, yes, staying up until 11. That bedtime will probably get even later when you get to college.
I would have probably stayed up until 3 if it wasn't due at 11:59 But yeah, last semester when I was taking way more credits, I stayed up pretty late each night with homework... so not really looking forward to that I guess lol. xD
Same here tbh, as it helps in my hobby of video editing, which I wanna do again someday. Hmm, I have two different ways of lauding movies as I can enjoy movies based on them being personal favorites, but since I assume we're talking about including technical achievement and stuff, probably Inception, La La Land, Jojo Rabbit, Lord of the Rings, The Lego Movie, Coco, Toy Story 3, and like three R-rated films.
Okay, maybe I complicated things a bit too much. xD Let's just say I can appreciate a movie for the artistic direction it went, or for what it is and how it made me feel and enjoy it, or maybe a bit of both.
Gotcha. I think out of all of those, Lord of the Rings and The LEGO Movie pretty much just shocked me by how well-done and brilliant they were. OvO It's encouraging to see a few good movies coming out today, although the number seems to be dwindling. What got you interested in observing films like this, would you say?
They really are. Indeed, they're dwindling. I miss going to the movie theater already tbh.
I'm not exactly sure, honestly. Maybe a few posts on the internet explaining a few certain scenes got me interested in observing deeper in these films.
Or maybe it was Age of Ultron that made me realize those things. In this case, there's nothing significant about Age of Ultron.
Honestly, I'm not sure if switching stands is possible but if it is, it's gonna be hard to adjust.
It is a lot but honestly, me choosing film right after is placed that way so that if I wanna kill that dream of mine in case stuff gets worse in the future (which it will), at least I'll have some career-related background that's more common than "big" (idk the right words to describe that, sry).
Why do you think you'd be bad at it tho?
I see. I'M SO GLAD I'M NOT THE ONLY ONE WHO NOTICED THAT! 2012 was bad for me as a kid, 2016 was worse, and then 2020 is objectively disastrous. I do too but with the possibility of the coronavirus lasting until 2021 or 2022, it won't, especially for me who has already suffered too much here at home.
Ah, I see. So that must be much more difficult than switching majors, but I'm sure there are different "concentrations" you could call them inside each strand.
I understand that. If film falls through or something you have another option that you've already studied for that should be easy to get a job in.
Well . . . actually I haven't thought about that much. I'm just not super creative or good at film-related things, I don't think. What exactly do you want to do? Maybe then I could think through more deeply.
Oh wow! It's a four-year cycle for you too. (This is kind of crazy. ) I don't want to know what 2024 will hold. I know that the virus will probably stick around until at least 2021, but viruses normally mutate into less harmful ones, so the hope is more people have immunity and the virus is not as bad. However . . . there's a possibility people don't get immunity and the virus stays just as bad.
I guess. Well, recently, I was forced to choose a strand for those who have no idea what they want to take in college (otherwise known as the GA Strand, or General Academics Strand) as my current school doesn't offer a certain strand I was pursuing. I mean, I was about to transfer schools to take that strand but I realized I'm not ready to live on my own yet (cause that school's far from home; it's not like I can swing going there or something) as I'm still young and I want to experience my high school life first as that school is pretty much college-y. I had plans to take a science-related one so that I can utilize my math skills but my parents didn't like that idea.
Except that I literally have no idea anymore what to pursure if film fails, given the new circumstances I'm under (what I mentioned earlier).
Oh, I understand. Even I have a hard time in those stuff.
(It really is. ) I'm predicting another bad year in 2024. If it doesn't happen, it's either 2023 is our early Christmas gift or 2025 takes 2024's place as another bad year. That's actually true. In my place, 75% of the country began opening up again last year, though we're technically still in quarantine, just a little less strict now. The problem is, the groceries here and some other places here are already crowded since quarantine was slowly "lifted" and then everyone's blaming it on the government. While I do agree that quarantine still should've been extended, the people here still chose to go outside and allow risking more people to suffer. Most of them forgot about observing social distancing too. People here are just stupid imo.
That makes sense, unless you bring your LEGO to university.
That was probably the same with me as well, but I was 12 at the time.
Good idea. I hope it works out for you.
Ah, I see. I guess you would have to sort it even further by individual piece, which might take up a lot of space. That's understandable, back when you didn't have as much money to spend as a kid and could only get Bionicles for birthdays or Christmas.
There is too much LEGO to bring to university, unless I don't bring anything else
I guess you're 2 years older than I. Makes sense What even is your nationality/continent/whatever, by the way you post at cryptic hours
I'm also conflicted if I want to have my sorted bags of LEGO out in the open or if I want to hide them in drawers Anyway this will presumably be a project for after I move out of my parents' house. I think as a kid I would use my own money on bionicles and for birthday and Christmas I would get like $80 themed sets like Star Wars and Indiana Jones and whatnot

Right. I didn't bring any LEGO to college either since I don't have that much space, especially to share with a roommate.
Yep. Sounds about right. I'm currently 22. I live in the Pacific Standard Timezone, and it's currently 1AM as of the time I write this post. What about you?
Hmm, if you have them out in the open, they'll get dusty pretty quickly. Sounds like a good plan. Ah, very cool. I guess the majority of your LEGO collection is Bionicle, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and other licensed themes?
Very relatable. I can do a lot of things, but never enough time to do them. Ooh, nice. What kind of Technic pieces did you find? Wow, that's a pretty busy schedule. Is it possible to just sit in with the class and just not receive credits for it? That way you won't have to worry about the workload or exams and still be able to go to the class. Ah, yes, the red blood cell modeling, I remember you telling me about that. Oh, the GREs. I remember doing the GRE. I think I did well on the math and decent on the Reading and Writing portions. Agreed, a paint to study for. Very cool, I'm sure you'll really enjoy that. Maybe you'll be the one to help advance the cure for the virus.
I literally have a list of things I need/want to do and it's basically a whole sheet of paper
I'd say it was a good mix of early 2000s stuff, a few of those weird lavender and aquamarine pieces from then - honestly no clue what theme they even were - maybe something with robotics. My favorite is alternate colors to common pieces.
It's not really a class - so unfortunately not an option. I'll see what I can figure out, I've also got some stuff with coronavirus modeling potentially on the table. I keep busy
I'll study a bit for the general GRE then take it in like June I guess while the online option exists due to the pandemic. I did well on the ACT in high school and I'm assuming I haven't become THAT much dumber since then so hopefully the skills transfer. I just need to make sure I understand the rubric for the writing portions, as I recall not doing so hot on the writing part of the ACT - though I got a high score on the English. Baffling I'm hoping schools waive the GRE math subject test requirement, as most applicants in my year probably haven't taken it yet, as we lost the opportunity to do so in April, meaning there would only be one opportunity in the fall - unless ETS comes up with some contingency plan. Can't say I want to sit in a room with a bunch of other people for 3 hours to take a test during a pandemic though... hopefully they can do it online - they literally have a webcam proctor so it's not like you can really cheat any more easily than in person.

Wow. That is quite a list. I've haven't compiled mine into a list at all.
Ooh, very interesting. I'm not sure what set those pieces could be from, but they sound pretty nice. They do remind me of the RCX system for some reason. It's nice to have alternate colors of common pieces, especially the ones that you don't find often.
Oh, I see. I guess another time then unless you can fit it into your schedule somehow. That sounds great. I'm sure you'd be helpful in seeing where the virus may go next or how it will grow or shrink.
Sounds like a good idea. Hopefully your experience on the ACT will be helpful. I think one of the toughest things for me was the GRE vocabulary words. My mom got me a 500 card deck of GRE flashcards to learn a lot of words that they might use. Interesting how there's quite a difference between your English class and the ACT test. Perhaps they're just tough graders on the ACT. My mom also borrowed plenty of GRE books from the library with tons of practice tests, and I remember doing a practice test a day or something like that.
That would be really helpful. I'm kind of familiar with the webcam proctor system and hopefully they find a way to either let you take the test safely or just waive it completely. I'm sure you're not the only one wondering.

Oh yeah, that would've been quite annoying. I totally understand that. Enjoy your early bedtimes while you still can.
