Update: I can CONfirm Ireland is definitely worth visiting. I enCONrage (that doesn't really work does it ) to go there.
Oof. Sorry to hear it didn't go quite to plan. I guess that happens with a lot of weddings/big events tho. Hopefully in a few years you'll be able to sit and laugh about it. Sounds you like have a keeper.
(xDD) Ooooh, very good to know! Any locations in particular you'd suggest?
That's all right, it definitely will feel more like a funny story to laugh about in a few months. And my roommate was happy, which is all that really matters. Frrr, after all the crap I've put him through, I'm lowkey shocked he hasn't dumped me yet.
(warning: text wall incoming )
King John's Castle in Limerick is definitely worth visiting. It has a good mix of the original structure with indoor interpreation signs and videos explaining the history, and some costumed musicians.
If you're in that part of Ireland you may also see signs for Bunratty Castle and Folk Park. The castle is a bit overrated - it's alright but there wasn't much information about the history etc, and it was very crowded. Most of the time in the castle was spent queing to go up and down spiral staircases (which was kinda fun tho ) There are better castles to see I think. The folk park was brilliant though - they have cottages set up as old homes, schools, the post office, etc., some cafés and loads of little shops selling everything from pottery, woollen jumpers, sweets, other souvenirs, etc. It's worth going, but the folk park is better than the castle.
Adare Castle is also rlly good but slightly unconventional to find. You have to go to Adare Heritage Centre and reserve tickets on a guided tour - they take you to the castle in a minibus and then a guide shows a group of you around the castle. The guide was extremely knowledgeable and knew just about everything there was to know about the castle. As the guide was telling you everything there weren't information boards or anything, so it felt very authentic but you still learnt its history.
I would also recommend St Patrick's Rock of Cashel in County Tippereary, which is a huge ruined church. They tell all about it's history and about some of the conservation of a sandstone chapel there, which was really interesting.
For more modern history, the Flying Boat Museum at Foynes was worth a visit.
The coastline is absolutely magnificent there - we didn't manage to make it to the Cliffs of Moher, but we did go to Loop Head Lighthouse and the Bridges of Ross a bit further south, which were both good to see.
Oh, and if you want a complete adventure, go to Holy Isle on Lough Derg - an old man takes a handful of people to a little island in his motorboat, then leaves and abandons you there for an hour. You spend most of the hour wondering if he'll remember to come back
Also, if you're going through Dublin, go and see the state apartments in Dublin Castle.
...I think I just told you 90% of the things I see, so imma stop now. tl;dr: the west of Ireland is a wonderful place to go.
Oh, but if you manage to go in August, look up Heritage Week. The Office of Public Works, which looks after all the castles etc., lets people in for free that week. We didn't know it existed until we got there so were only there for the first day of it.
Time heals all wounds. Yep. I'm always pleased to hear about MB diaspora relationships thriving.
I feel like Ninjago could adapt, the LEGO Movie not so much. I honestly forgot that show even existed, is it any good?
Recreating my old avvie felt good. Finding Friendships
Oh yeah, Ninjago definitely, maybe in a kind of ancient or medieval Japanese art style.
It was pretty short-lived. No idea, I have never watched a full episode TBH.
It's iconic. Henny and I were working on bringing back the avatar builder ( I think I can tell you this now as since Henny left, that project has pretty much ground to a halt. ) Finding Friendships
That sounds pretty dope, too bad it's unlikely to happen at this point. That could've worked really well for at least flashbacks or something.
Based on how long (or rather how not long) it was around, maybe it's safe to assume it wasn't a hit.
I wish I had the skills to help, because I'd love to see that come back! Finding Friendships
Glad to hear it! What are your interests, by the way? I don't think I've ever talked to you before
Just so you know, I totally jinxed it by saying I was better. I got Covid. It's funny, I don't think we have talked. I really like playing tabletop games like D&D, though I never seem to be able to find a group without major conflicts, and recently I've been trying to make my way through a list of movies everyone's supposed to have seen. I'm tired of being hit with "You've never seen [insert movie here]?!?!" How about you, what are you interested in?
Oof that sucks I'm fighting a sore throat rn, so I guess we're in flu season Cool stuff! I like to play tabletop video games as well, although I haven't tried a lot of them Solid goal, that can be pretty annoying Which movie are you working on rn? I love to read, write, and role play and I love to dance! I'm actually starting up dance lessons again tonight (we paused for summer). I also like to make videos, and roller skate (not at the same time)
Right down to the peanut roots, where the young peanuts play Most interesting! "By golly I think she's got it!" (Also sorry your wife can't drink most milk. )
I wonder if they play Peanut Panic, it seems like a game designed by peanuts. (Oh trust me, that doesn't stop her ) Finding Friendships
I don't know that game, but it sure sounds like something peanuts would make and play (Oh, more power to her, then )
It's iconic because it's relatable. He was actually the keynote speaker at a huge college theater festival that my troupe went to! All in all a pretty cool guy. He told the story of how he completely butchered Route 66 on the first season of American Idol and still got runner-up (to Kelly Clarkson)
I've never had an original experience That sounds so cool! lol I love hearing stories from people like that, it always kinda throws you off as you remember "oh yeah, these are real people who have stupid and weird experiences, too"
Nobody has. It was honestly awesome, I got to perform at it the next year (this last January) and it was definitely one of the coolest things I've ever done. It's so nice to know that massive successes are also weirdos who like to do goofy Pete Townsend jumps and don't know the words to their favorite songs.
In high school yeah. In my college experience nobody cares enough to try and claim that, they just leave (or don't show up in the first place.) The TA did start that class because the professor was late though
Ahh, must be a small college thing for me, then. My college really just feels like highschool 2.0 sometimes.
I probably just didn't take enough classes where people treated it like high school 2.0. Now that I think about it there definitely were a few classes like that, the professor was just never late.
Yeah, that's the aforementioned health violations one, so I guess you're exactly right. Of course there's an equal chance! Your superpower is just also E. Coli.
*gasps* A new pun! You must be the chosen con.
They got what they deserved. So, like, giving other people E. Coli? Finding Friendships
You're the one with the advantage, having concieved a child. Dad joke upgrades and all.
Con, did you have something to do with it?? Yes, but such mighty powers are sometimes unpredictable (you give yourself E. Coli too)
I was about to agree with you, until I realized that 8 am class professors are obviously their necrotic overlords. (Unless they too are slaves to the evil dean )
So the professors got annoyed nobody was attending their classes so they created undead students so they'd have someone to teach?
Now you're getting it! Now to explain how the flat Earth factors in

It's spreading like wildfire through my hometown, so I'm lowkey glad I'm not there. Dance is awesome! I wish I was better at it to be honest, I feel like me dancing is a hazard to anyone nearby. Hope your lessons go good! Make videos like animating, commentary, or what? It sounds interesting! And thankfully not at the same time as you roller skating, which is also awesome
