Chapter 73
The next few weeks passed quickly as Skrag and Zargan became accustomed to their new situation. They trained a lot, but it was never boring or repetitious. Skrag discovered that he could, in fact, survive complex aerial maneuvers on his dragon’s back and both of them learned to work as a team, moving in synchronization. They soon began to regard the other dragons and riders as friends, even a sort of family. Korin and Cloventail trained with them sometimes, as did Hithrol and Olifin, though the two of them often seemed to be busy with other business. At one point, Skrag had Korin examine his weapons to assess their strange abilities. Apparently, they had been enchanted in some manner, and if Skrag learned to use them he could unleash their powers on a whim.
He was training with the weapons when Hithrol joined them in the training field one day along with a new dragon and rider. Skrag thought there was something peculiar about them, but he couldn’t quite tell what until the two of them got closer. The rider was a golden-haired elf, but his face was slightly longer and his eyes were yellow and reptilian. He smiled, showing pointed teeth, and his fingernails were sharp and hooked. The dragon, for her part, had a slightly shortened face, softer eyes, and opposable thumbs. They introduced themselves as Calin and Glenda Firestrike. Skrag, thinking about what he had been told earlier, realized that their odd physical forms must have been a result of the bond that existed between them.
When they had finished meeting each of the riders and dragons, Hithrol spoke, “I have decided the time is upon us to reveal our presence. In three weeks’ time, we shall fly forth and meet with three different races. Korin, Cloventail, Skrag, and Zargan are tasked with meeting the dwarves at their stronghold in the east. Conria, Knoxin, Terra, and Raini shall go to the three human kingdoms- Lion, Dragon, and Falcon. Jon, Potestas, Calin, and Glenda will fly to the elves in their forest home. Olifin and I will stay here and maintain our headquarters.”

Chapter 74
Three weeks passed just as quickly as two, and it felt like no time at all had passed when they all gathered once again. Skrag had all but mastered his unique weapons, and Zargan had developed his natural ability to spit acid. Most dragons had some sort of breath-based weapon, and, while fire was the most common, many other existed. Every one of the dragons and riders had grown more skilled in their time together- Terra and Conria no longer relied so much on defense, Jon became even quicker, Calin learned to use his draconian features to his advantage, and all the dragons became better overall. Even Raini, who couldn’t fly, managed to hold her own against any one of them. When Hithrol and Olifin gathered the dragon and riders before them, they were all faster, stronger, and more confident than ever before.
Everyone knew his or her job. They would spread the word that they were there, and engage in peaceful meetings with leaders of each group. If all went well, they would be welcomed easily and sent back with good tidings. There shouldn’t be any was for things to go too badly wrong, but Skrag had a bad feeling in the pit of his stomach. Before they left, he approached Terra, “I feel like something’s going to go wrong, like things are going to change somehow.”
She smiled, “We’ll be fine. It’s a simple, peaceful mission.”
“I know. I just have a bad feeling,” he sighed.
“It’s okay. Don’t worry too much.”
Skrag nodded, “I won’t. Just… be careful, okay?”
“Of course,” Terra smiled again, “You do the same.”
“I will,” Without another word, he climbed onto Zargan’s back and the two of them took off, following Cloventail.
Zargan turned his head to look at his rider, “I heard you talking. I have the same sort of feeling, but whatever comes we’ll face it together.”
“Yes, we will. Nothing can separate us,” Skrag replied, but he wasn’t entirely sure he believed it.

Chapter 75
Beziov whistled as he wandered through the forest. It was a beautiful day, and he was quite content. Suddenly, he felt a burst of heat on his chest, “So, it is time.” He reached into his shirt and pulled out an amulet. It was made of simple stone, with a rune carved into the middle, which was glowing with a sky blue light. Grasping the amulet, he closed his eyes and disappeared in a flash of light, the same color as that shining from the amulet.
Beziov reappeared in a plain, white room, in the center of which was a round wooden table surrounded by eleven identical chairs. He chose one and sat, looking around at the other people in the room. On his right sat a man in a black cloak and a red tunic, holding an ornate metal staff topped by a red crystal. Also in the room was a brown-haired elf woman in a green dress, a gray-haired female dwarf wearing thick armor and toting a large hammer, an elderly ork with a pair of nunchaku, and a laughing woman with a knapsack slung over her shoulder. A dark blue flash of light brought a woman in a blue dress, two flashes of green revealed elven twins- identical in almost every aspect besides gender, and a gray light precluded a dwarven miner. The final chair was already occupied by an old man with a walking stick and a floppy hat. He spoke, “Welcome all. As you probably know, one of our members passed on recently, and we have inducted Lief to take his place.” He gestured at the black-cloaked man, who waved one hand. “Now, our first order of business,” said the man, “Beziov, did you succeed in your mission?”
Beziov nodded, “I did. The half-breed has the weapons and the armor.”
“Why, exactly, did we grant this person these gifts, if I may ask?” asked the dwarven miner.
“We have done such things before, Petrion. I have seen what is to come, and if things are to go according to the Plan, this person must have these items,” the man replied, “Now, onto our next item...”

Chapter 76
Deep in a shadowy cave, a dragon watched Hithrol Jiwovz through a clear globe of glass, “Shadow, I think I have a mission for you.”
“Yes, my master. What do you require?” A humanoid shadow floated over to the dragon.
“You see this man?” the dragon pointed one claw at Hithrol.
“Yes, my master.”
“I have some… unfinished business with him. I think it would be amusing if you were to, shall we say, take him under your wing.” The dragon chuckled slightly.
“Yes, my master.”
“Good,” the dragon smiled, “Now go. The time is coming.”
As the shadow left, another person entered the room. “Father, I’ve been having those dreams again.”
“You have, my child? I thought we got rid of those years ago.”
“Yes, but they’re back, and worse than ever. I’m being taken away into the sky, I cry out for help, but no help comes.”
“Well, we’ll have to deal with them, won’t we? Come here, Alis, and let me search your mind. Those dreams will be gone again in no time.”
Alis Jiwovz walked to Marrzak, “Of course, father.”
Meanwhile, far away from the cave, a man sat in his throne, thinking. His long, black hair ran past his shoulders, rubbing against the black and red throne. Everything in the room was dark gray except for the throne and the tiles leading up to it. Massive, ornate columns held up the ceiling and a few torches provided the only light. A small, wiry man scuttled into the room, walking up the tiles to stand in front of the throne, “It is time, my lord. The armies are ready, everything is in place.”
“Good,” smiled the black-haired man, raising his white-bladed sword, “Give the order, Henphril. It is time for the invasion to begin.”

Dragons (Author's Note)
Dragons are among the most powerful races in the known world. They are giant reptilian creatures, and have inspired both fear and awe in humanoid races. Dragons live for hundreds of years and continue to grow for most of their lives. The main things that separate them from giant reptiles are intelligence and magic. Other giant reptilians have lizard-like intelligence, but most dragons are as smart as or smarter than humans. Dragons also have magical properties and abilities, which allow certain breeds to fly or breathe fire, among other things. There are many breeds of dragons.
Land Dragons- These dragons are scaly and winged, with horned heads and spiny ridges on their backs. They are seen in a rainbow of colors, and usually have two or more in their scales. Land dragons almost all have breath weapons as well as the ability to fly. Breath weapons range from fire, to ice, to acid, and so on. They live either in large groups of many families or as a mother with her children. If any are to betray their group in any one, they are never welcomed back. For centuries, land dragons were hunted by humans, dwarves, elves, goblins, orks, and a myriad of other races, though they too did their fair share of hunting. More recently, however, as the world seems to enter an age of relative peace, dragons and humanoids stay apart and on decent terms.
Water Dragons- Water dragons inhabit large bodies of water, usually living in small groups. Their scales do not have such a wide variety of color as land dragons, but they always come in intricate and unique patterns. Water dragons, of course, can breathe underwater and are more snake-like than land dragons. Additionally, water dragons have webbed paws to improve swimming. Though they cannot fly, water dragons are still very fast on land.
Rock Wyrms- Rock wyrms are the least intelligent breed of dragon, though they are still relatively smart. They live alone, except in cases of mothers caring for their young children, and are highly territorial. They cannot fly, but are very strong. Rock wyrms have dull-colored scales, ranging from brown to gray to sandy colors. Though the hunting of land dragons is essentially over, rock wyrms are still hunted sometimes by ambitious adventurers eager for the money and fame that a success will bring, though most fail.
Drakes- Drakes are found far to the west of where land dragons usually live. Unlike their eastern cousins, drakes have never been hunted. Their intelligence almost always exceeds that of humans, and their wisdom is renowned in their home countries. Drakes are not scaly. Instead, their bodies are coated in soft, colorful feathers. Some have bird-like wings, allowing them to fly, but not all do. Their bodies are long and sinuous, similar to water dragons.
Wyverns- While they are as intelligent as any other dragon, drakons are much smaller, have only one pair of legs, and live much shorter lives. They come in vibrant colors, often several on each individual, and have both scales and feathers. Wyverns have always been uncommon in this part of the world, and they were nearly hunted to local extinction just a few decades ago. Currently, they are only bred as messengers or pets and are still very rare.
Drakons- Because of their lower intelligence and more lizard-like appearance, drakons are not technically considered dragons. Similar in appearance to rock wyrms, drakons look like giant lizards. Their claws and fangs are highly poisonous, and drakons are considered highly dangerous.

Part One Summary Skrag, a young half-goblin, is taken in by a goblin tribe, but shunned and friendless. When the chief who brought him in passes, the new chief takes this opportunity to exile him. Before he leaves, though, his power-hungry adopted father smashes the chief and frames Skrag, forcing him to flee.
Part Two Summary Far to the north, a dragon named Marrzak begins hearing a voice in his head, which convinces him to smash another dragon. He flies away, along with his brother, Zargan. Skrag sees the two and follows them to a house, where Marrzak smashes a man and continues flying away. Zargan is pursued by a group led by the man’s son, but Skrag saves him and the two become friends. The boy, Hithrol Jiwovz, finds a dragon egg in the mountains.
Part Three Summary Skrag joins an arena, fighting as a gladiator, but discovers he’s trapped in the city. Meanwhile, a young giant named Baj is captured as a slave and sent to the arena. Skrag finds a secret passage out of the city and begins planning to free the slaves and the city from the cruel leader, Gormund Crux, who is really just a puppet for his brother Edmond. Zelfern, one of the strongest gladiators in the arena, is put up against Skrag, who removes his hand. At the same time, many of the gladiators question their motives for fighting. Skrag and his allies, including Edmond’s daughter, Isabel, who calls herself Ishappa, approach Baj, asking for his help in freeing the slaves. He agrees, and convinces everyone except Garfell, an incredibly strong and skilled fighter. The slaves leave, while some of the gladiators lead a rebellion against the Cruxes. Garfell makes his return, sent by Edmond, but Burgs and Re’zar sacrifice themselves for the others. Almost everyone leaves, including Skrag, while Isabel takes control of the city. Zelfern swears to get his revenge on Skrag.
Part Four Summary Skrag and Zargan meet a mysterious old man, who enchants Skrag’s weapons and gives him armor, before disappearing. From there, they find the Dragon Riders, led by Hithrol Jiwovz and his dragon Olifin. The other Dragon Riders are Korin and Cloventail, Jon and Potestas, Calin and Glenda, Conria (a former gladiator in the arena) and Knoxin (a relative of Zargan’s), and finally Terra and Raini. The dragon riders all leave to announce their existence to the world, but Skrag has a bad feeling and asks Terra to be careful. The mysterious old man is revealed to be part of a mysterious group. Marrzak sends the voice, named Morath, after Hithrol and reveals he has Alis, his sister. Finally, a mysterious man initiates an invasion.

Thanks. Actually, a lot of my characters are stolen. I'll list the ones from this list that aren't: Skrag, Skorj, Gorle, Trok, Skirj, Kalkuzar, Darkaraz, Marrzak, Zargan, Lyzara, Kurukin, Gormund, Edmond, Arik, Baj, Elisa, Andrasa, Beziov, Petrion, and Morath. I don't remember if Ormuk is or not. I just went back to the full list (current through all but the last Part on the old LMBs) and just over 40% are mine. And about 1/3 to 1/2 of those 40% are very minor characters, some never having been named in the story itself.

Chapter 77
Skrag sighed, looking out over the grasslands far below his balcony. Maybe I had been wrong, he thought, Maybe nothing bad could happen after all. But try as he might, Skrag could not shake the uneasy feeling in the pit of his stomach. Zargan, Korin, and Cloventail had all tried to reassure him, but their efforts had been in vain.
Not much had happened in the couple of weeks since they had arrived at the dwarven citadel. In fact, just about nothing at all had happened. Korin and Cloventail were welcomed with open arms, and a feast was immediately held to honor their presence. It had lasted three days and only afterwards did the dwarves actually ask why they had come. Of course, the dwarves were happy to send their well-wishes to the Dragon Riders, but they urged the visitors to stay as long as possible. Skrag supposed it was a product of the long period of peace everyone had been enjoying recently. In contrast to their companions, he and Zargan were almost ignored- apparently, the dwarves’ hospitality did not extend to goblins. They were invited to eat with everyone else and given freedom to roam the citadel, but for the most part they were ignored. They didn’t mind, though. Skrag and Zargan were used to being alone. Korin said he would ask the dwarves to invite them to join in, but they denied. They didn’t want to cause trouble. The Dragon Riders were given massive, well-furnished rooms, and the dragons had perches just outside. In contrast to the grand architecture and massive scale, the tables, beds, and other pieces of furniture were quite short to accommodate the dwarves’ size. Fortunately, Skrag was not the size of a human, or he would have been quite uncomfortable.
As he turned away from the balcony to enter his room, Skrag heard shouting from below. A messenger had arrived at the gates, shouting and waving his arms. The half-breed rushed inside and began moving towards the gates. Maybe he had been right after all.
When I first started on the LMBs, I was mainly interested in Hero Factory. Then, a new theme came out called HEROICA and I got interested in it, even though I didn’t get Waldurk Forest (the one set I have) until after it was discontinued. On the HEROICA forum I joined a roleplay topic called The Elite Hero Monster Questing Arena, made by Dragonfj5. In it, people could join the heroes or monsters; choose two classes from a list of 15, and battle. I joined the monsters with my character Skirj and his red dragon named Marrzak. Many people came and went, but the only person who really participated long term was sydney817, whose character fought for the heroes and also had a dragon. Eventually, since it was so empty, I gave up on the topic as dead. I decided to make my own roleplay as a sort of revival of it, albeit with a very different format and rule set. It is called the Elite Heroica Questing Arena and can still be found on the Classics forum today. From that point, Skirj split off in two different directions. One version of him kept the name and became 2ic of the Moria Orcs on the Lord of the Rings roleplay. I have since left that roleplay. At roughly the same time, on the Kingdoms roleplay, my new character, Skrag, and his dragon Zargan joined the inactive Dragon Riders HQ. Soon, I was joined by another user, who took control of the HQ, while I became, once again, 2ic. My brother, f91zm, was the third member to join. The Kingdoms roleplay soon became my favorite roleplay, and it remained so until it closed. Sometime before it closed, I began contemplating the idea of writing a story about my character, who already had a very in-depth backstory thanks to various events throughout the Kingdoms roleplay and others. It took me a while to finally begin writing the story, but when I did I posted the prologue in the "Medieval lovers chat room" before continuing the story into the LMB topic. After the LMBs closed and I moved here, I began reposting old chapters so that this topic contains all chapters when I finish.
Cool! I didn't know you were once a part of Moria. I have been second in command (or leader) for a long time of Moria myself, though with two different characters (one in the Old LMB's and one in the LMBEternal.)
Tul Generas of the Orcs, Darthraxx of the dragon Knights. I RP, and have lots of fun.

Chapter 78
Terra, Raini, Conria, and Knoxin had begun flying with Skrag, Zargan, Korin, and Cloventail, but when they reached the dwarves’ citadel, the two groups had split up, the former continuing northeast to the Falcon Kingdom. The falcons had long been allies with the dwarves, ever since the War of Divisions. It was only natural, as the two were quite close together, only separated by the river and a section of forest. They arrived that evening. Like their friends, they had been welcomed- mostly because the falcons were the self-proclaimed peace keepers among the human kingdoms and as such made sure to welcome all visitors. At first, they were slightly apprehensive, but they soon opened up and the riders and dragons were on their way after a few days of friendly discussion.
The next stop was the dreaded Dragon Kingdom, said to be cruel to its subjects and swift to punish. Of course, Conria had admitted, he had heard this during his time in the Lion Kingdom, and the two had long been bitter rivals and even enemies. King Dernar had at first wanted nothing to do with them but his advisors had eventually worn him down. After all, these were dragons, the symbol of the kingdom. Once inside the castle gates, the dragons and riders finished talking quickly and left soon after. No matter how untrue the stories might be it was clear the king was not entirely happy with their presence.
Finally, they came to the Lion Kingdom and the castle’s sturdy walls. They were taller than those in the Dragon or Falcon Kingdoms, but didn’t come close to comparing with the citadel of the dwarves they had seen in passing. As in the Dragon Kingdom, the king, a proud man by the name of Leonus, didn’t like the idea of letting them enter. Eventually, as a final desperate measure, Conria introduced himself, explaining how he had once been one of the kingdom’s generals. The gates were opened shortly after.

Chapter 79
Jon, Potestas, Calin, and Glenda had a considerably harder time finding their way to their destination than any of the others. Even in times of peace, elves were often secretive and withdrawn, and these were no exception. Neither of them had ever lived with this group, and they had considerable trouble finding them. All they knew was a general area of the vast forest, and flying overhead was no help since the trees masked any buildings that might be below. Eventually, though, after a full week of searching, their destination was before them.
Most of the elven city was built of wood, with some gemstones and a little bit of metal, but no stone. Buildings and plants flowed together to such an extent that sometimes it was impossible to tell the two apart. Many of the buildings were built in or around trees, though a few smaller ones stood alone. Animals, including wolves and bears, roamed the forest floor, and a few were even in the buildings. The elves never disturbed them and they never showed any sign of hostility or territoriality, even letting the elves pet them if they wished. Like the animals, elves wandered freely, most seemingly without any particular task. They stopped to talk to each other briefly before continuing on.
In Calin’s eyes, everything seemed perfect here. It reminded him a lot of his old home. He hadn’t been there in a long time, and he inched closer to Glenda, almost imperceptibly. At a second look though, not all was as perfect as it had first appeared. He heard two elves in a heated argument somewhere among the buildings, and looking up saw archers and warriors hidden in the trees. When he glanced over at Jon, the elf’s face was scowling, but that went away immediately, like it had never even been there. Looking forward again, Calin was surprised by a grey-cloaked elf holding a swordstaff pointed at his throat. “Name and business,” said the elf, succinctly.

Yeah. That was a long time ago, at least in terms of my time on the LMBs. Something I forgot to mention is that proctmi10 was the 1ic in both the Dragon Riders HQ and the Moria Orcs HQ. We were also in a lot of GM-Style Roleplays together. He's gone now, but he lives on in Hithrol, Olifin, and a few other characters in this story.
@mods: A couple posts appear to be stuck in moderation. A reply to LegoBuilder0925, which I posted two days ago, is missing, and so is Chapter 79, which I posted yesterday. Posts that I posted after those have been approved.
