One Hundred Knights appear on the horizon. Several banners are unfurled in the wind to reveal the sign of a black unicorn upon a white field as if snow. They examine the field to see what the situation is.
They see a large army, about 2000 strong, in red, fighting against three groups of enemies. The first is a group of warriors in black, fighting from the middle of the red army. Attacking the flank of the red army is a mixed group of soldiers in green and minotaurs. Dragons attack the red army from above.
Lord Ulrich turns to his counselors.
"Lord Cyrill, take my wife and return to the Lion's Castle to bring them this news. I doubt the petty lords will keep their gates barred. 20 of you others, head across the plains bearing the Lion banners we picked up in the villages as well as our own banners. Offer any man you meet 100 golden horns or the equivalent currency to come hither with all speed and arms. Tell them that the battle is likely to be over quickly if it happens at all. Sir Alistar and I will take a company to the Dragon camp. If they will admit us, we will have another chance to plead our case. If not, we will ravage their leaders. Onward!"
Sir Alistar, Lord Ulrich and 20 Knights ride down towards the Green army's camp. 20 others along with Lord Cyrill and Lady Rietta depart westward.
Several horsemen ride through the forests and fields of the Dragon Kingdom searching for men-at-arms, highwaymen, peasants, rangers, and any other man who does not march with the Dragon banners. Each man is promised 100 pieces of gold for their service in war, and are told to arm themselves in the greatest fashion they can and march to the hill overlooking the fields of battle where the Zweihand Knights are bivouacking.
They are led to Eudoxa, who is waiting not too far away. She is accompanied by two other Kriatoma and a human in dark armor. Upon seeing them, Eudoxa extends a greeting. "I understand your mission went well. Thank you for your services. Zotikos will take care of Alpida." One of the Kriatoma steps forward and carries Alpida a short distance away. "Would you like to say anything before I deliver my verdict?"
"Very well. I will proceed. Kestrel Creerden and Karthon, I sentence you to one year in the service of the closest living relative of your victim, that being Dareos. Your sentence will begin at the end of this battle and last for one full year from that date."
{JAMMERS! RuleJJ ONLY!} I have my men scattering through both kingdoms trying to recruit men to come and join the Zweihand ranks, offering them a large sum of gold in return. What numbers could I reasonably expect to muster? I imagine somewhere about 300-500, though I don't know the exact political situation.

They find few men and fewer takers, but a handful take the deal.

They find only two men at the camp, three if you count the pale figure that they are guarding. There are many makeshift tents in the camp but it is strangely vacant "I am Alexander Icecrest, of the Forest Band. If you are freinds, be welcome, if you are foes, beware. Which are you? I don't recognize the symbol" The speaker was young, in his late teens, and had frost-white hair and peircing blue eyes. His partner had ruffled brown hair and a scar on his left cheek.
