Demiu's hands whiten as he grips his sword hilt in an attempt to calm himself, swaying on his feet. Despite the weakness in his appearance, his voice is going up rather than down. "You think the Xain will care if we send back Corellus? They get back one of their top generals, and we get back a couple of warriors for a few hours, possibly a few days and at most a few weeks, before we are destroyed by their forces! They are coming, and handing over Corellus will not change that!"
"That's why we need to do it. We need to care, or we are no better than they are. And we are not just getting back a couple of warriors. We are getting back the leader of the Shadow Warriors and a man who commands a dragon, dragons being the one reason we have not lost yet. Just . . . just ask Darthraxx what was in the letter."
"Dror, the general in charge of the Negotiations, said that they would take Corellus for the both of them, and Xavic's Dragon. However, if we send more than a score of men to retrieve them, or if the war ends before the exchange, they will be smashed. No Xain would attack the party either."
Tul Generas of the Orcs, Darthraxx of the dragon Knights. I RP, and have lots of fun.

"You see? If we're not careful, we will doom them."
"Ah yes, right incorrect word to use." Lexos rubs his temples irritably and wipes the sweat off his brow. "I know what I must do, but you may have heard me say before that I am no leader. And on top of that, you said it yourself. And I know, I didn't see any of that happen. I know, I don't truly know what is going on. In fact, I know nothing." Lexos pauses and watches Albeis grow weaker. "Albeis, you must rest. We will finish this later."
"Fine. Let someone else do that. But none of us can afford to just stand here and do nothing. You heard what I said. All of those things are happening right now. Go find a way to stop one of them. I will rest when you do that."
Lexos drops his previous conversation and listens to what Albeis is saying to Demiu. When there was a pause in speaking, Lexos said "I would've sent general Corellus back, but Demiu disagreed with the idea."
Harfor approaches again. "Lexos, I have heard what has been said. Should I gather the men?"
Lexos sighed. After a moment of silence, Lexos looked at Harfor. "Yes. Gather the men and tell them to prepare to move out. They may be exhausted, but I don't believe we can afford to rest."
Lexos approached Demiu. "We need to do the prisoner exchange. Albeis says that we should do it, and even general Corellus believes that would be the best option for us. I believe Xavic is more valuable than general Corellus."

Harfor leaves to gather the men. Amion replaces blades and sharpens swords that have been dulled on Xain armor.
Lexos sharpens his rented and slightly rusty blade and checks how many arrow he has left. Three arrows left. Lexos thought, shaking his head. That won't last long. Lexos sheathed his sword, checked to make sure his knife was securely sheathed and walked up to Albeis. "What do you think we should do next? You probably know the situation better than any of us."

"Very well, listen to the raving old man and the enemy general. I trust you realize that Corellus will be advising us to do that which will inflict the least damage upon his army?"
Demiu turns, grabbing a spear for support.
"We will do this exchange, but I will go and handle it."

"I would suggest we start by helping the minotaurs. Their end of the battle should be easier than the Kriatoma."
Gidie steps forward. "If I could interject, I think it is time that I cast my spell. I warn you, though, there is no guarantee that it will work. If it does, the Xains at the castle will be destroyed. If not, it might backfire on us. If we go forward, I would appreciate the help of any Old Magic users."

Lexos nods. "I will go help the minotaurs then." Then with a hint of worry in his voice he adds "if, of course, the spell doesn't backfire and smash us."
