Well, for me that is what the twenty minutes into the future is about. We already have primitive forms of Science Fiction technologies, so you can expect railguns, robotics, advanced computer programs (no AI though). Hey, I even heard there's even a chap in the University of Missouri working on a plasma-throwing device, so we could have basic plasma guns.
