Hey all, Tad here. This is where I'll post about the mysteries on the LEGO Message boards, or where you guys can post your own mysteries. Currently I won't be posting anything, but once I've finished up with exams (in around a fortnight) I'll try to post as regularly as possible

Ooh, what kind of mysteries? --Like, real ones or fiction?

Real mysteries, stuff that happened that we don't quite understand.

Here's a mystery: why did Lego close LMB and the Galleries.
I actually might know part of the answer to that, but I don't know how confidential it is. For now I'll say I heard of a dangerous incident that may or may not have scared the LMB staff into shutting down the site.
Here's a mystery: why did Lego close LMB and the Galleries.
Here's the answer: The LEGO Message Boards cost money, as well as the Galleries. The Moderators, designers, etc were full time on the Galleries and the LEGO Message Boards. LEGO had to pay the Mods in yearly wages, obviously, and whilst I don't think they were getting paid heaps they were still getting paid.
But how much money did LEGO get from the boards and the galleries? Nothing. They were putting in money to a forum where 90% of the conversations didn't revolve around LEGO. From an economic standpoint the boards were pointless, they weren't getting anything out of it.
Therefore, it only made sense they would shut down. They couldn't have robotic moderation that filtered out key words, and they couldn't just have no moderation for a kids forum.
I expect the first mystery I will write will be about the other side of the minutes online glitch, one I believe I experienced but no one else did. My last exam is a week from now, so I believe I'll start writing it sometime after then.

Right. Yes, that makes sense, thank you.
All good. It's just a theory that I reckon makes sense, but of course there could be other reasons.
