I've never read a comic book in my life, with the exception of the Bionicle comics, so I'd be judging by movies alone. By that, Marvel has much more developed stories.
Yeah, I don't really read comics either. But the movies by Marvel are STUPENDOUS!! The only DC movie I like is the Dark Knight Trilogy. That was a good line.
I only have one dc comic and two marveel ones.
I can't believe I had the same awful signature for nearly 8 years. Sorry for disappearing for 2 months, life happened for a bit.

I'll forever be DC. Why? Well, DC Comics did the BIONICLE comics so...yeah. Also, Rebirth.

I apologise if the following crashes anyone's party... When it comes to films, DC actually have better reviews than most Marvel films. Which films, you ask? DC Comics do better animated films than live action films, some of their top-scoring films (top as in 100% on Rotten-T) include Batman: Under the Red Hood (absolutely beautiful); The Flashpoint Paradox (an essential); The Dark Knight Returns (part 1 and 2) as well as some others. Though, if we are exclusively discussing live-action than...yeah, Marvel probably does better than DC's more recent films (though Wonder Woman has done well). Dark Knight trilogy remains the best though (with the exception of Batman and Robin ).
Also, if we're talking about American superhero comics (that's the style, they don't have to come from America) than Superman was the first 'superhero' (created in 1932, Batman and Namor were 1939 and Phantom was 1936 - according to internet source).
I think that's all that I wanted to clear up...except...

I've never seen any of the animated movies, but I'm totally addicted to Batman movies, which are quite plentiful. Observe:

And he's getting another new movie soon, so yeah, DC's been doing movies much longer.
Going on the films is a really bad idea because all the DCMV films were critically panned(although everyone i've met has said SS was good and the DC fans liked BvS for...some reason ). Read the comics, because that will give you much better grounds for opinion.
I think critics are less familiar with the characters in Suicide Squad, so it was a pretty average good movie but critically panned.
To be honest, I didn't like Suicide Squad. I prefer DC over Marvel, and I don't feel like the characters were represented very well, especially Joker. Fair enough, I don't know enough about people like Deadshot to compare all of them, but the big ones weren't what I thought they should be. It wasn't only the characters I didn't like though, I just didn't find it enjoyable at all. I did, however enjoy Dawn of Justice. Can't wait for Justice League!
I like Marvel more. They have Iron Man, Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Black Widow, Wolverin and Spiderman. And has Batman, Superman and Wonder woman. So marvel has more cool Charakteres.
Actually, Batman Superman and Wonder Woman are DC. The rest ARE Marvel though.
