i'd say a few hundred. i have a dream that one day i'll rebuild all my sets and have a giant lego village, but that has a .00001 percent chance of realistically happening

Some of mine are, but I do have 1 old space figure.
I have one old space police minifigure and some old Lego System minifigures too
That's cool.
I'm not sure which set this figure came from. Something around the late nineties. It was my first figure, given to me by one of my brothers. Funnily enough, it was a female to which he called Timmy. Her legs are a bit floppy nowadays.

I know which set my space police minifigure came from. It is quite a small one.

Hundreds. From Star Wars alone I must have at least 50 with all of the Clone Troopers and Battle Droids. The Trade Federation MMT (From 2008 or 2006, I think) had 24 droids all by itself. Making a Star War is quite easy for me. I have at least 5 Indiana Jones figures, and 15 from the theme itself. Plenty of Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Bionicle Minis (The 2006 ones) as well.
However, the majority of my minifigures come from the Minifigures Theme. I was, and still kind of am, obsessed with that theme. So many different characters to collect that you don't even have to buy a full set for! I'm an expert at feeling through the packages and getting exactly who I want. I started at Series 2, where I got every fig (Skier was my first, got him at Disney World) but the Mime is my favorite. My major obsession with this theme came from Series 3, though, where the first costumed figure was released: The Gorilla Suit Guy. I traded a Beyblade for him at school, and he still sits on my shelf along with the Lizard Guy, The Bunny Guy, The Chicken Guy (My favorite), The Pig Guy, The Firework Guy, the Cactus Girl, and now the Watermelon guy. I know there are quite a few I'm missing (Bee Girl from Series 10 as well as a ton from the 40th Anniversary Series and the Crayon and Giraffe Guy from TLM2 Series) but I plan on getting them all eventually.
The oldest one I have is one of the Vintage Space astronauts (With the taller helmets that modern visors don't fit on), though his helmet doesn't match the rest of him (White helmet, red suit). I also have quite a few Space Police 2 and Blacktron 1 figures. which are apparently worth a few bucks. If I wasn't lazy, I'd dig them up and display them, but I am in fact lazy. I also have 1 of 10,000 Chrome Stormtroopers. He is displayed, though he's not in great condition from a lot of play. But hey, playing with the figure is the point!
My estimate for total number of figs? 600, maybe 700. I've been collecting for 15 years, and they add up quickly.
