Yes, yes. I read in a book that it is very important to practice true forgiveness. True forgiveness is not the fake forgiveness which we usually have: "I forgive him even though he did something bad". No, no. True forgiveness is believing that there was nothing to forgive in the first place. "I forgive him for what I once was upset about, and now realizes wasn't so bad", or something like that. You should truly forgive others, and you should truly forgive yourself.
I might have butchered that explanation.
So like Biblical forgiveness sorta thing ya? I agree that fake forgiveness is not good, I think it can actually be harmful to fake forgive people idk if that's just my opinion or if other people think that too. .... Yeah I have a heap of trouble forgiving myself, forgiving others is real easy for me tho. XD
Nah I think you did fine!
Yeah, I suppose it's sorta like that.
Well, you should forgive yourself. There's only one you, and you're no more human than everyone else. You make mistakes because you are imperfect (as all humans are), and those mistakes teach you and make you into a better person. You are you, and you are special, and you should unconditionally love and respect yourself. The opinion that you have of yourself is far more important than the opinion of others, because your self image defines how high you can fly. If you believe you are a failure, it will become a self fulfilling prophecy, and you will end up proving to yourself that you are a failure, simply because you had no faith in yourself. Failure is the stepping stone of success. No one has ever succeeded without failing many times, because that's just how life works. Try, fail, correct the failure, and rinse and repeat until you succeed. And never let failure define you. You may have failed, but you are not a failure. But just forgive yourself for everything, because you are human and you are special, and you differ from animals because you have intellect and you are in control and powerful.

Sorry. Maybe that was too much for this forum.
I teared up reading this. You may never know how meaning full this was for me. I've always believed I should love people. That all other people, even the ones who mess up are trying there best, but at the same time I was convinced that I don't deserve the same love or care that I give to others. It's a huge struggle for me to think of myself as anywhere near lovable or acceptable to people around me, but this was extremely helpful and it meant more than you know. So thank you Henny. You are a great person with a good kind heart, and the world would be better off if it had more folk like you. Thank you!
Don't worry. I don't think kindness will ever be rejected on the LMBEs. : )
