Wow... wow! The first conception of LMBE was that it would be a place for a small group of people to continue an epic roleplay we had going for Clone Wars RP. When I suggested that we remake the boards entirely, it took a bit for everyone (myself included) to get over the shock of such a crazy idea. But I think we were all sure that was it. The boards would be recreated and we'd just go on as normally as possible.
Now, you guys just keep innovating and improving and expanding. It's so cool to see! It'll be hard to see the name go, but you're right that it's a necessary change to make the expansion.
I have a couple questions. Will the old URL be usable to redirect people to the new one? Likewise, will a Google search of "LMBE", "Lego Message Boards", etc. still return this site? There are a lot of old users, myself included, who just don't check in here much and it would be sad if they weren't able to find this place again or thought it shut down. If the old URL won't work anymore by default, I would definitely recommend asking Proboards for some help with that. Maybe they can offer a solution.
Keep up the great work!
Hey, haven't seen you around these parts lately. Not that anyone's seen me around these parts either, this just happened to be a well-timed check-in.
Personally I think that LMB.boards would be sufficient enough of a change to avoid a cease and desist or whatever, but I think that it being few years after the end of the LMBs means that it's time to move on from the name, even though it does hurt my heart just a little.

We're all gonna be sad to see it go, but I think it's gotten to the point where it's worth moving on. We'll still be the LMB graphics and stuff, it's just our URL.

Also it's nice to see you around.
Nice to see you too.
Like Astro said, this project grew way beyond what its original purpose was, and that so many people are/were able to contribute to archive and recreate the boards still amazes me to this day. And even though I can see that the spirit of the LMBs lives on in these boards, I think a little bit of rebranding is a step in a right direction in order to continue this great community.

Absolutely. Hopefully from here we'll be able to expand our user base, and continue as an even bigger community.
