Species: Inkling Gender: Male Rank: 2ic Appearance: Surprisingly, not a coyote mask. =P Brown Coat, Brown Outfit, Brown Cape, Tall Brown Top Hat, and lastly- Brown Eyes. =P Weapons/gear: Not seen with any weapons, but it would not be a surprise if he had weapons in his coat. Backstory: I guess that the rulers of the inkling tribe would probably need at least a story on how they became the rulers. Name: Mariya Mada Species: Octoling Gender: Female Rank: Founder and one of the Adventure Gurus at the Saltwater Subnautical Institute in the Inkling tribe Appearance: A tall, curvy Octoling with wavy, mid-length hair and two "eyelash" markings on each of her blue-violet eyes. She has floppy ears, a long nose, and a slender face, and usually wears her snazzy institution uniform. Gear/Weapons: A submarine designed to be completely and utterly waterproof; the just-in-case waterproof gear packed in the storage units. Personality: Caring and helpful, often considered a big sister type. She truly believes Inklings should be able to see the beauty of the ocean, so she values safety and a fun, rewarding experience. Backstory: Mariya emigrated from Octo Valley after realizing what DJ Octavio was really like, and stepped into Inkopolis hoping to turn her life around and make people the opposite of miserable. She was gazing out at the ocean one day when she had the idea- "Inklings and Octolings can't swim, but what if they could see the ocean nonetheless?" So she used the engineering skills she acquired from Octo Valley to build a water-tight submarine, testing and testing it until she got it right. She founded the institute with help from some friends, and they have taken Inklings on never-before-seen field trips since.

Weapons: The Tri-Slosher, Inkbrush, and Dapple Dualies. He likes light weapons. Personality: Cheery as a baby bird on a Saturday, but with a shy side. A kind soul, but coming from an oppressive society, he is spooked easily and falls for tricks. A good friend of Natalie's; would often try to protect her but get punched in the face in return. Admires the New Squidbeak Splatoon despite them having constantly done him in. Similar to Natalie, his Common is pretty broken. Backstory: As an engineer for the Octarian army, he was often put to work with Natalie, although they were separated when the authorities noticed their quote-unquote "distracting" friendship. He was often picked on by elite soldiers, but he stood his ground until he could make his escape; he began learning Inkling as soon as he got to the surface, and was surprised his "broken" speech didn't make him the butt of jokes. Since then he has been an active Turf War player, and curious to see if Natalie got to the surface too.

xD They're inklings. They just have masks and king and queen names based off of those masks. xP The masks conceal their identities, and that way they can be in public when they want without inklings/octolings recognizing them.
