We're in the year 2018 at the moment, but we seem to be encountering some turbulence in the time portal.
Interesting. What seems to be causing these turbulences?
It could be the future's timeline colliding with the past's timeline, thus creating a field of pressure, which is what we seem to be caught in at the moment.

Yes, hopefully, if I give this time machine more power, we will override the time vacuum.
