MINAS TIRITH: GONDOR HQ
Minas Tirith is situated on the Hill of Guard – the "out-thrust knee" of Mount Mindolluin, connected to the main mass of the mountain by a narrow 'shoulder'. It faces eastward towards Osgiliath, over the Pelennor Fields surrounding the city, fertile townlands stretching from the walls of the city proper to the Rammas Echor.
The city is built on the hill with seven concentric tiers cut on the hill culminating in the Citadel at the summit. The outer wall is called the City Wall and is black, of the same material used in Orthanc. The City Wall is vulnerable only to earthquakes capable of rending the ground where it stands.
Each of the seven levels stands 100 feet higher than the one below it and is surrounded by a white wall. Each wall holds a gate, and each gate faces a different direction: only the great gate and that of the seventh level face the east; the gate to the second level faces southeast, and that to the third faces northeast; so altering between the two such that the path up through the levels winds to and fro rather than following a straight line. An outcropping of rock as high as the seventh level bisects all the lower levels except the lowest on the line of the Great Gate. The winding path through the city therefore passes through tunnels in this 'keel' five times.
This is edited from Tolkien Gateway and is all canon, based off of the books.
In this RP, this HQ provides 35,000 MWE, as well as the standard # of SWE and NWE. It borders Anorien, Osgiliath, and Lebennin.
@mods: I've edited the (rather incomplete) starting post, replacing it mostly with content from LegoBuilder's Gondor HQ in the 3rd Age RP (The last two lines are my own additions). Both Legoaquilino and Legobuilder are fine with this.
During the forth age, Gondor was a vast land. They owned large amounts of land, and had a huge army.
Legoaquilino, seriously. If you're going to post an HQ you will need more information in the description. Just ask EE at the RPDT for more information on what to include

To the west is Rohan, to the northeast is mordor, and to the east is harad. (I think.)

OK....well...generally speaking, in a very vague sort of way, this is technically partially correct. But that's being awfully generous.
Rohan lies a ways to the northwest of Gondor, while Mordor lies to the east. Harad lies far to the south. But none of those actually directly border this HQ.
Here's a more accurate description: To the north/northwest of this HQ lies Anorien. To the east lies the great river Anduin, as well as the ruined city of Osgiliath*. To the south/southwest is Lebennin. Directly to the west lies the end of the White Mts. So this HQ borders the regions of Anorien, Osgiliath, and Lebennin.
*Note: For RP purposes, Osgiliath has been partially rebuilt, including the bridge. Thus, it is a viable crossing point for the Anduin.

I think we should delete this topic and restart it with a better starting post. Thoughts?
TBH, it's not that big of a deal. Most people know what they need to know about it anyways. The only really important thing that should have been on there was the regions, which people will find anyways, if they scroll a few posts down.
However, something like this can also reflect poorly on the person who posted it. So I'll leave it up to LA. If he wants to keep it, that's fine, we'll just make sure people are informed. But if he wants a redo, that's fine too.
Speaking of which, the Woodelves topic is still up...Better go get someone on that.

you can have it deleted it if you want to. I'd be fine either way.

Eh, it's not a huge deal, so I think we can leave it. Just try to put in a little more effort when you post new topics, like Pelargir (*coughcough*).

Gondor Infantry. Worth 1 Plate armor, shield, sword, side arm. As seen in the movies. Good troops meant to hold the line. Do well in formations, but fall quickly if formation is broken up. Come in spear and Pike variations too.
Axemen of Llossarnach. Worth 2 Chain-mail armor with plate breastplate, two-handed axe, sidearm. Shock-troops recruited from the hills of Lossarnach. Meant to break a line not to hold one. Does well against heavy armored opponents due to their heavy axes.
Tower Guard. Worth 4 Heavy Plate Armor, Spear, Sword, shield. Elite troops given the honor of guarding the Tower of Ecthelion. Excellent at holding a line, and can hold their own one on one.
Fountain Guard. Worth 6 Very heavy plate armor, pike, sword, side arm. The best of the Gondorion Infantry, picked to guard the fountain and the White tree of Gondor. Armed with long pikes and swords, they can hold a gateway or a pass almost infinity if the enemy doesn't have archers. Cavalry will end poorly if they charge them head on while the Guard are in a pike wall. But their heavy armor and long pikes make them slow on the battlefield and week to flanking.
Archers:
Gondor Archers. Worth 1 Plate armor (though much lighter than the infantry). Bow, sword. Though heavly armored, they lack the range, firepower, and maneuverability of some archers. Yet they can hold their own in melee against lightly armed foes.
Blackroot Vail Archers. Worth 2 Light Chain mail armor, Longbow, sword. Good archers able to pour arrows at an enemy from long range. Though lightly armored they are skilled swordsmen and can hold out against lightly armed troops.
Ithilien Rangers. Worth 6 Chain Mail armor, stealth cloak, sword, Longbow, Sidearm. Stealthy troops that are used to fighting in the woods of Ithilien. Expert archers, and swordsmen, they excel at ambushes but will fall quickly if cought in melee against heavily armed troops or cavalry.
Cavalery. Scouts. Worth 1 Leather armor, buckler shield, lance, sidearm. Used as scouts and messengers for Gondor, they can be used for running down lightly armed troops such as archers, but will fall against more armored opponents and will not last against spear or pike-men.
Knights of Gondor. Worth 3 Plate armor, Lance, sword, sidearm. The best Cavalry of Gondor, they are skilled knights. They have a powerful charge, but are week if caught by heavy infantry.
