*Paradox and the Chupacabra are on the beach.* "Hurry it up, I don't want to be seen out here. Relax Eight, we're almost there." *Paradox presses in a rock, which opens into a steel-walled passageway. Once they're both in, Paradox hits a button which shuts the door behind them. They go forward to a door, and Paradox rings a buzzer.* "Paradox here, just on some business." *The steel door opens into a lit-up, metal-walled passageway. Paradox starts off, leaving Eight having to run to catch up. After walking down quite a few hallways and past some moles on the way, they arrive in a room with a giant window overlooking a training room. Inside the overview room are three black moles and a uniquely-colored fennec fox.* "Ei-YOU!" *Eight leaps at one of the scientist moles, who uses one of his gadgets to make an energy shield around himself.* "What are you insane? Why would you him back here? Eight! Do you remember our contract? It does not include killing an asset." *Eight growls and slides off the mole's shield.* "Now." *Paradox gestures to the black fennec fox with two sets of triple, jagged, grey slashes on his face.* "Eight, this is Fracture, my right hand man. Fracture, this is Eight, my new general."
OOC: I will be calling the Chupacabra 'Eight' from now on, because it's shorter to type.

(Continued from last post) "Now. Down to business. I want full armor for Eight, so if you could have your scientists get on that. Eight, go with the armormaker so he can design armor to fit you." *One of the moles leaves, and Eight follows him out. Paradox turns toward the window, from which many cyborg chimian animals are seen fighting robots.* "How is their training going? Good, we've slowly increasing the expertise and difficulty of the robots and challenges. I notice that a few of them are using different fighting styles. Yes, we had some of the experiments trained in the use of different weapons. Hmm. Turn them against each other. I want to see which fighter is best." *The mole is silent for a moment.* "Very well."
*The robots in the room power off. Tsarlok looks up at the black glass of the one-way window.* "Attention, you are now to fight each other. Pick an opponent and fight them, when they are down, repeat." *Tsarlok looks down at his cybernetic arm sword, then looks around the room. He sees Rage, the Parrot dual-wielder charging him. Tsarlok jumps to the side and blocks a few slashes before he entangles Rage in a net.* "Wait! I yield!" *Tsarlok looks around again and picks the white Mink sharpshoot, Melanie. After taking her down using a strobe light to throw off her aim, the only one still standing is Charcoal, the ninja Rabbit. After an intense duel, Tsarlok emerges victorious.*

Tsarlok stood over his comatose opponent, crossing his arms. "Hardly even a challenge." He declared. He heard the sound of one person clapping above. Looking up, Tsarlok saw a fennec fox watching him. "Very good, very good." Said the fox, slowing his clapping. "You are definitely fit to be my warrior, Tsarlok." "Let me guess: you're the one these mole things are working for?" Tsarlok asked, pointing his arm blade at the man above. "Indeed. I am Paradox, leader of the Fennec Army. We're the ones who'll finally bring peace to Chima, when we bring the warring tribes to their knees." "An ambitious goal." Tsarlok said. "And what's in it for me? What reason would I have to help you?" "You don't have much else to do now, do you? And you'll have multiple chances to get revenge against any and all of your enemies." "Alright, I get the picture. Sure, I'll work for you, Paradox, as long as such an arrangement remains mutually beneficial..."

A cat sat alone in an alleyway. Completely alone... at least until two other cats stopped while walking by her. One of them, hearing her crying, asks her what's wrong. "There's nothing left." The crying cat mumbled in response with her head bowed. "My brother is dead. Tsarlok was evil, but he was the only family I had left. Now I have nothing, and no--" "Myora? Is that you?" She looked up to see two cats standing over her... both of whom she recognized immediately. "Shift! Kyle!" Myora exclaimed, jumping up. "I thought one or both of you would be dead by now!" "Heh, it would be hard to take me out!" Kyle proclaimed. "I... just managed to make it out alive." Shift replied quietly. "So what's this all about, Myora?" Kyle asked. "You're just giving up on life now?" "Well... well, what else can I do?!" Myora shot back. "My brother's reign was put to an end, and so was his life. He was an enemy, yet he gave me a purpose. Now I have nothing." "On the contrary," Shift replied, "you simply need a new purpose. Before I met up with Kyle, I was found by a flygon named Wingman..." The conversation between the three cats continued for a long while...
Tsarlok and his new "employer" raced through Chima's vast sea of sand on their speedorz, two more speedorz following a generous distance behind. "There." Said Paradox, suddenly slowing down. "The sand dune at two o'clock." Tsarlok looked sidelong at his companion. Paradox had been extremely vague about their destination, and during the preparation for this trip, had only told the cat that they'd be recruiting soldiers. True to his name, the fox really was an enigma. Tsarlok wearily parked his speedor and followed Paradox into sliding stone doors hidden in the sand dune, which had opened themselves after the fox had gotten close. After walking down a short stairway (lit up simply by the glow from the chi in Tsarlok and Paradox's harnesses), they entered a tomb. "So that's how it is..." Tsarlok muttered. "Indeed." Paradox replied. "These will be our reinforcements. Use the power I gave you, and awaken the Old Fennec Army." Tsarlok's whole body began glowing purple, until he managed to focus the glow into his chi harness. The purple glow briefly enveloped the chi, before slithering into the air like a serpent. The purple "snake" flew through the room, and through each of the many coffins. Fennec foxes, their bodies covered in bandages and golden armor, stepped out of the coffins. "Now, wait here a moment and get used to controlling these soldiers." Paradox ordered. "I'll be back soon." "As you wish." Tsarlok said as the one living fox in the room left.
Outside the tomb, Paradox met with the cloaked Fracture and the Chupacabra, Eight, who'd now caught up with their speedorz. "Generals." Paradox greeted them. "Did it work?" Eight asked bluntly. "It did." Their leader confirmed. "It's time for Phase Two." Fracture took off his cloak to reveal that he'd had his fur painted to have the same patterns and colors as Paradox, and was wearing his leader's armor. The real Paradox nodded, donned the cloak Fracture had been wearing, and departed on Fracture's speedor.
"Paradox" (Fracture) and Eight awaited as Tsarlok came out of the tomb, his lifeless army marching behind him. "Ready to move out." Tsarlok said, looking at the disguised Fracture. "Wait, where's Fracture? I thought he was following us with Eight." "Something came up." The chupacabra said evenly. "That's right." Fracture said, perfectly mimicking Paradox's voice. "I sent Fracture elsewhere. We three will go to Cavora." "...All right." Tsarlok said slowly, getting on his speedor and driving west with his two companions. He turned to see his army following behind, running at top speed.
They'd not yet reached Mount Cavora when something bizarre occurred. The three generals stopped their speedorz, and Tsarlok halted his army's charge. Tsarlok, Paradox, and Eight looked to the sky, their eyes following thousands of orange beams of light being pulled up from somewhere in the east, behind them (although one beam came from the north). The beams all streaked south like jets, converging one one location that was out of the group's field of view. "Do you... have any idea what those things are?" Tsarlok asked Paradox. "I... don't know." The fox said, dumbfounded. "Hah!" Tsarlok scoffed. "I thought you knew everything, Paradox!" "No one knows everything." Paradox replied flatly, ignore the jibe. "In any case, be ready for... something to come from the south." "Right." Eight growled. "Let's stay on guard."

Quest: Book 2 - Chapter 8
Location: Mount Cavora Date: 15th of July
It had been three days since the Fennec Army and their commanders arrived at Cavora. There'd been no resistance from any tribes, probably because they'd arrived at nighttime, and their occupation of the mountain was yet unknown. "I'm surprised that self-proclaimed guardian of Cavora didn't haul herself over here to stop us." Tsarlok had commented the following day. "I guess she's either preoccupied with something else, or too lazy to come lumbering out of her castle!" "Almost definitely the former." Paradox had replied. "We should prepare ourselves for the inevitable battles with her and the other tribes, now that Cavora has lost its neutrality for the first time in Chima's history."
Now, with both the grounded and floating halves of Cavora (the latter having been obtained using helicopters the Moles had smuggled into the neutral region via tunnels) occupied, and the chi rivers sprouting from the holes the Turtles had dug around the natural basin now clogged up with dams, Tsarlok stood above it all. Paradox was far below, overseeing the construction of the last dam, despite the workers being controlled by Tsarlok. "Quite the view, eh?" Eight said, walking up beside the cat. "Didn't think I'd ever be this high up, after being locked down below by the Moles. Now we're at the top of the world." "Well, I don't feel like I'm 'at the top' right now." Tsarlok growled. "Paradox is using us, and for what? Why'd he need me to control his army of freaks? He could've come and conquered Mount Cavora without us, right? ...Hey, you know something, don't you?" "Well..." Eight said, crossing his arms. "I've been thinking that the Moles can't get to me when I'm up here without revealing their existence to the rest of Chima, so if I did tell you what I know in exchange for protection, all I'd have to worry about is our 'boss' down there, and we'd outnumber him an army to one." "You have my word." Tsarlok said, nodding. "You'll be a valuable ally and general. Together, we'll easily crush Parado--!"

"Let's skip the inspirational speech." Eight said bluntly. "What if I were to tell you that you turning on Paradox was part of his plan?" "What??" Tsarlok exclaimed. "How?! Surely he knows that I'll see him as a threat, and ki-- Wait..." "That's right." Eight said. "He knows you won't kill him. You can't; after all, you need him alive if you want to get your answers about everything." "Clever man..." Tsarlok growled. "But why would he want me to have full control over the army and betray him?" "Because you'd be the public figure." The chupacabra answered. "You'd either be Tsarlok the Redeemed, the evil king turned hero who slayed the mysterious villain Paradox and freed Cavora from his control, or Tsarlok the Tyrant, the conqueror of the life-giving mountain. If you don't turn on Paradox, he'll fake his death, making it still appear as if you seized control of his army and took him out. So the idea is that, no matter what happens, it'll inevitably result in one of the two outcomes I've mentioned, depending on whether or not you choose to keep Cavora under your foot. To be honest, I don't think Paradox cares about this rock one way or another; he's just using the conquering of Cavora, the most mainstream event possible that'll gain attention from all the tribes, to broadcast his 'death', and to make you appear to the public as the leader of the Fennec Army henceforth. Paradox wants everyone to think he no longer exists; to go into the shadows completely. I think that's because people here and there have noticed him and his actions as of late, and rumors spread quickly. He wants to stamp out his own presence." "Well... How do you fit into all of this, then?" Tsarlok asked. "I'm not completely sure." Eight answered. "Paradox told me this plan, and ordered me to rescue him after you'd captured him; in exchange, he'd supposedly help me get my revenge on the Moles for what they... did to me." "But that's a moot point." Tsarlok said. "Unlike Paradox, I've got a whole army to fight the Moles, so if anything I'd be more effective than Paradox in helping you to destroy them."

"I know, that's what I realized," Eight explained, "which is exactly why I'm telling you all this." Tsarlok grinned toothily and viciously. "So, Paradox's plan isn't foolproof!" The cat exclaimed triumphantly. "Heh-heh-heh-heh... The look on his face as you stand with me after the interrogation, when I'm about to truly rid Chima of him--!" "Won't be a look of surprise." Eight finished the sentence for him. "Paradox clearly did consider the possibility of me turning on him instead of rescuing him, because the fox down there is willing to give his life for his master's cause." "What??" Tsarlok asked. "The only other thing I know" the chupacabra said, "is that the 'Paradox' you've been around since walking out of that tomb isn't the real--" A deafening, mechanical-sounding 'roar' interrupted Eight as a massive airship burst through the cloud layer from the south, surrounded by a red cloud swarming around as if sentient. "What in the--?!" Eight started. "Look!" Tsarlok said, having already pulled out his binoculars. "There's a cannon aiming this way from the east! That ship... Is it the Flygons? The FLA?" "Well this ship is getting too close for comfort!" Eight replied, as the enormous yet elegant airship swerved to the west of the floating Cavora. "Whoever's piloting that ship is using Cavora as a cover." Tsarlok realized, looking back at the Flygon rocket, which short-chi-ed as it abruptly stopped its blast, beginning to spiral down toward whatever region it was above. "In any case, we've got visitors!" Eight said, drawing his blades. "The first contenders to our occupation of Cavora; these... dragons?" Tsarlok drew his soldiers to him as the red cloud bore down on Cavora without pause, and without a single offer of negotiation.
batonmaster500, TheFirstDecade Sorry this has had the same awful schedule (or lack thereof) as The Last Reincarnations. This time it's because I got addicted to the outline of another story I want to write, but now I'll finally get to writing this frequently. Quest Book 2 - Chapter 9
Location: Mount Cavora Date: 15th of July
"So there are some living beings here." The apparent leader of the Dragons observed, speaking casually even as Tsarlok, Eight, and their army were locked in battle with his. "Surely you must understand how such a repulsive transgression, that being the 'revival' of these husks, cannot be allowed?" "Sure pal," Tsarlok said as he commanded his Fennecs in vain to try and block the Dragons' fire breath, "I'm disgusted by these walking corpses too, but we need 'em. Congratulations on not being six feet under yourselves anymore, Dragons, but did you have to butt in here?" "Yes." Drakonus answered, looking down at his soldiers burning away the zombies, leaving nothing but ash and sparks peacefully floating away into the air. "And we were never slain. You don't even know what I am, do you? Hmm, Krellix..." "This... isn't going to bode well for... you Dragons!" Eight snarled as he slid beneath an oncoming wave of fire and slashed at his opponent's leg, before fluidly turning around and bringing his other curved blade down on the dragon. "I know your species, cat," Drakonus observed, looking at Tsarlok before turning to Eight, "but I don't know yours. I can tell you're a Chima native, not one of those aliens, but I don't recall any beings looking like... that." "Yeah well, it wasn't my choice to look like this!" Eight snarled again, throwing a zombie in front of him to act as a fire shield, before running around it and slashing sidelong at his reptilian adversary. "That's what I suspected." Drakonus said with a not-so-small hint of remorse, drawing his own illustrious sword. "Another prime example of a victim... a victim of this wretched, pointless, unnatural abomination known as CIVILIZATION! Be not afraid, you poor soul, because I'll take it upon myself to put you out of your misery." "I'm not miserable, and I don't need you for anything!" Eight roared, blocking a fiery downward swing from Drakonus.
Tsarlok looked sidelong at the fierce duel between the chupacabra and the Dragon King, wishing he could aid the former. He had no particular love for Eight, but he needed all the allies he could get for the coming conflicts with Paradox, the Moles, and other enemies. The former Cat King was preoccupied at the moment, however, by Dragons surrounding his small group of zombie Fennecs on all sides; they'd been cut off from the other zombies, and, while Tsarlok controlled them to try and claw their way into the wall of Dragons surrounding him, they just kept getting burned to the ground. "We're on this God darn floating mountain..." Tsarlok thought aloud, finally feeling dread. "There's nowhere to run..."
Luckily for Tsarlok, he started hearing the whir of helicopter blades as "Paradox" came flying up from beneath Cavora. "This is a disaster!" The fox yelled over the helicopter. "Eight! We need to go!" "What am I, chum for the Piranhas?!" Tsarlok snarled under his breath, before remembering. "Right, my purpose in this plan of his is null and void now, without this army. Don't think I'm just going to stay here and be incinerated, Paradox!" "This transport can withstand heavy fire!" Paradox yelled to Eight again as he fired at the Dragons. The chupacabra's plugged chi fizzled out as he inched closer to the helicopter, giving Drakonus an opening to quickly slash Eight's torso. Eight stumbled backward, but with his remaining energy, blasted the Dragon King seven feet away with a screech --perhaps an ability that came from whatever creature he'd been originally-- and ran toward the helicopter as it landed, clutching his side. In seeing this interaction, Tsarlok was reminded of the remaining chi he had in his bag, and swallowed it whilst already having an orb plugged. With the added power boost, the cat leapt far, narrowly escaping the circle of Dragons that closed in around his group of Fennecs. Landing on the nose of the helicopter as he'd intended, Tsarlok wrenched open the cockpit windshield with chi enhanced strength. "What th--?!" Paradox said, looking toward Tsarlok as the cat grabbed him by the neck. With a vicious grin, Tsarlok threw his "ally" out of the cockpit, and took his place, pulling the windshield closed. "Good, <cough>" Eight sputtered, still clutching his wound as he got fully into the helicopter's hold. "Let's <cough> get out of <cough> here!" "Don't let them escape!" Drakonus roared, directing many of the Dragons to fire at the fleeing helicopter, while the rest of them finished off the Fennecs. The helicopter withstood an impressive amount of firepower from the Dragons as it flew away from Cavora at top speed... but nothing is invincible. "Blast!" Tsarlok yelled, pulling on the control yoke as explosions racked the aircraft. "We're going dow--!!"
The helicopter disappeared from view, as did the traitors within. "A disaster indeed." Thought Fracture as he watched the remaining zombies being disintegrated nearly to the last atom by their opponents. "Even my master couldn't have foreseen this. I only hope Eight survives the crash; he still hasn't fulfilled his part of the plan." The one living fennec fox here pulled two chi orbs from his satchel in one hand, and a compact camera drone in the other. "Perhaps I can still salvage the situation, somewhat." Fracture thought as he plugged one of the orbs into the small device. The drone "unfolded" to its full size, and began its broadcast. Though these live-recording cameras were an expensive rarity, almost every tribe leader had one in their headquarters.
"Begin broadcasting." Fracture ordered the drone, and it did. "My name is Paradox. Many have been hearing my name, and about my actions recently. My aspirations end here, though." He plugged his other chi orb and drew his weapons, firing and striking at the Dragons rushing toward him, as the drone recorded this. "As you can see," the fox continued, as he dodged a slash from a dragon and countered. "My faction, the Fennec Army, has fallen to the Dragons. They now wrench Cavora from my control. I don't need anyone's sympathy... I'm just recording my final will. I've no allies left, and my dream dies with me." "Paradox" rolled away from fire breath and shot the attacking dragon from below. "However," he said, panting as he continued to dodge and strike down as many enemies as he could, "I do advise that the other tribes act on this, and join your armies against the Dragons; while this is perhaps my punishment for conquering Cavora for myself, the Dragons now do the same. I realize now that the Great Mountain's neutrality must remain." With a chi enhanced jump, "Paradox" leapt to where Drakonus stood, and the drone quickly followed him. The Dragon King stood motionless as he watched his opponent land. "It is for that reason," the fox concluded, "that I, Paradox, have taken it upon myself... to at least end the Dragon King, the one who orchestrates this new threat, here and now." "An honorable way to frame this," Drakonus commented, blocking a shot from "Paradox" before knocking the chi blaster out of his opponent's left hand with a wing slap, "but, ultimately misguided. Recording this? Good. People of Chima, I swear to you that I, Drakonus, your creator, will free you from this delusion, and from the horrifying curse that is sentience." "Wha--?" The Dragon King's opponent started, caught off-guard by what Drakonus said. "Paradox" quickly regained himself, though, and blocked a sword swing, continuing to furiously duel. "You are..." Drakonus said carefully, concentrating immensely on keeping up with his opponent's pace, "a worthy adversary, Paradox, but this needs to end. Looks like you expended your chi on my troops as well." As the "last" fennec's chi orb fizzled out, Drakonus, his speed and power heightened by his own fire chi, knocked Fracture's sword out of his hand, but then had his own sword knocked away by a desperate high kick from the fox. Drakonus blasted the now unarmed Fracture with fire breath, simultaneously singing the fox's fur and throwing him several feet back. In a few quick motions, the Dragon King drew a dagger from his back, flew forward, and brought his blade down on the fallen fox; once, twice, thrice, four times. "It was, in fact, I," Drakonus said, and he stood and looked to the hovering camera, "who saved Mount Cavora from this conqueror, Paradox. I wish only to use it as a temporary base for my war on the treacherous Snow Leopards. I ask that you heed my words, tribes of Chima."
Tsarlok reached for the chi orb that'd landed near him, stretching his arm to its limit. He remembered the helicopter's crash after it had been shot down by the Dragons, and how he and Eight had been separated. The cat looked up, seeing a red cloud swarming around Cavora, and the Dragon's airship sticking out from behind it. "They'll be coming down here to see if we survived soon..." Tsarlok thought worriedly, "and they'll end us. Need to... get out of here!" Focusing back on the task at hand, Tsarlok finally managed to scoop up the chi orb, plug it in his harness, and throw off the helicopter blade on his leg with ease. Tsarlok stumbled to his feet, and looked around the wreckage for Eight. He soon found the chupacabra, sitting up against the helicopter's side, the light in his bizarre eyes fading. Eight had long since let go of the injury at his side. "Ahh, so you... survived, Tsarlok." Eight mumbled. "That is good. It's... too late... for me, but you can attain my revenge. They'll think you're dead after this... all of them; the Moles, the real Paradox..." "The real Paradox?!" Tsarlok asked. "You'll be my... secret weapon." Eight ground out. "Get the other... experiments on your side. Tell them... Eight sent you. Wipe out all the Moles. Then... do whatever you want to Paradox. I've him to thank for employing me, but I have no love for him." Eight beckoned Tsarlok closer, and managed to get to his feet, leaning on the cat's shoulder. "Bring me over... to Cavora." Eight requested. Tsarlok complied, guiding the chupacabra a few feet away from the helicopter, and putting him down to rest against the lower half of the life-giving mountain. "Much... better." Eight said as he sat back. "I feel a... kinship here, with the source of the chi. Now go, Tsarlok. Get... revenge for the both of us." Eight smiled as he turned his head and slouched further against the earth. "At least..." he whispered, "I know that my vengeance... will be achieved..." Tsarlok stood up from the creature's side as the last of the light in Eight's eyes faded away. The cat looked up at the Red Cloud, starting to break up as Dragons were sent down to scout the area. "The last of my army must've fallen too." Tsarlok thought, swiftly stepping back, then jogging, then running away into the nearest forest as fast as his legs could take him. "A triumph, I will have... Too bad none of the beings I'd come here with will be there to see it."
