Yeah, it got its full three years and its whole story that'd been planned out. Bionicle G2 is basically what Chima would've been if it hadn't worked.
Although set-wise, Chima's final wave was definitely disappointing; only three sets, one of which wasn't canon, and another of which was terribly inaccurate to the awesome depiction of it in the show. In addition to this, both waves in 2015 also sold poorly (because they should've wrapped up the Fire vs Ice sets in 2014, and based the 2015 sets on a new season, to keep kids interested), so I understand if people say Chima didn't work in terms of sets, at least in the last 1/3rd of its run.
Although it's funny to me that people tend to say a TV show "failed" because they personally didn't like it, even though the show got its full story told, and didn't get cancelled, thus making it objectively a success. *Laughs in Bionicle.*
Note: I do like Bionicle as well, but it's just funny to me that people say Chima and its show "failed" or was "cancelled", when Bionicle: The Journey to One exists.

I will say, the Blazing Bastion was pretty cool. For those who couldn't acquire such a set, Flinx's Phoenix is certainly a perfect "diet" version.

Oh yeah, Flinx' Ultimate Phoenix is awesome. I still need to get that set. It's based on that "aura" he had during the Great Illumination at the end.

I figured. Though, I usually fold it to look like a throne, then imagine that it is like the Blazing Bastion, but on a smaller scale as a throne that converts into a Phoenix themed air vehicle.
