Mr. Makuro isn't tall enough to be a Glatorian, which, the Great beings were Glatorian.
Ah, but sizes in the Hero Factory/Bionicle universe change. For example, by the end of G1, matoran were the same height the toa were at the beginning. It's just the building system though, in-universe Makuro could be the same height as a glatorian.
That's true. For all we know, Makuro and the 1.0 heroes could've been as tall in universe as the glatorian despite being small sets, just like the Stars figures.
Hero Factory and BIONICLE theories takes me back to a strange crossover I tried writing once. It was bascially just the BIONICLE story with Hero Factory characters - I'm so creative.
Of course, Gen 2 was out by then so Makuhero was my Ekimu and Mr. Makuro was/would be - didn't get that far - my Matau.

I did a Hero Factory crossover once --
The Hero Factory ended up secretly being a scam made by Mr. Makuro to gain political influence over the robot-governed-universe.
And so naturally, the Toa Mata wrecked the Hero Factory whilst several references to movies I had recently seen over the course of writing were made-

I'm assuming this was back when hating HF was hip.

Sounds cool. I hope you didn't write the Heroes themselves as villains, as they'd just be victims of Makuro's plot as well.

Everyone thought that Von Nebula released the brains. In reality, that shadowy figure at the end of Breakout has nothing to do with it.
Makuta schemes within his schemes, he not only predicted but often controlled his opponents' moves. He saw it coming. He saw everything coming. And he was always prepared.
Just after his defeat at the hands of Mata Nui, the contingency plan rolled into action. He had prepared. Throughout the universe he had sent hundreds of thousands of Kraata. They are, indeed, made from his very essence, so they are completely controlled by him. He wasn't dead. He couldn't die. And through these millions of Kraata, dubbed "Brains" by those who knew no better, he began his overthrow of the entire universe.

Oh yeah. It's all coming together.
-The contingency plan
One thing though: the shadowy figure is shown to be in a physical form. I don't know how Makuta could've inhabited another robot body if his antidermis was all destroyed when the meteor went through Mata Nui's "brain". I guess the shadowy robot could've been a souped-up Rakshi, or someone working for Makuta?
It's ironic though, that Hero Factory makes more sense taking place in the same universe as Bionicle G1, then G2 does.

Actually though, according to my theory not all of Makuta's Antidermis was there when he was killed. He had prepared by sending out the kraata... which are literally made from his antidermis. And the kraata can possess not only Rahkshi, but other things as well, so the shadowy robot could simply have been anyone or anything that a kraata was using as a host at that moment. Of course, like you say, it could also have been someone else working for makuta... he had a lot of servants.
And yeah, it's weird that it's easier to connect Bionicle G1 with Hero Factory than with Bionicle G2!
