i haven't checked out the Kid's side of the website yet, as I'm still trying to find my way around the Grown-Ups portion. I swear, every hyperlink you click there opens a new window and it's really frustrating. I did manage to get to the VIP section where I discover that the whole system had been reworked from the ground up. My shiny red LEGO minifigure friend was gone only to be replaced by these creepy blue ones. The rewards aren't great either. You used to be able to just cash it points to get money off of your order or even exclusive sets like the mini modular buildings. Now it's just coloring sheets and tickets to Legoland that cost like a bajillion points.
Honestly, LEGO.com has been going downhill for a very long time since LEGO Universe shut down. The only real things still holding it together and keeping people on the site were the Message Boards and Galleries. Now that both of those are gone, there's really no point in visiting the site anymore other than the shop, and even then, you're better off shopping elsewhere for LEGOs. The only thing keeping the site still standing is that LEGO probably wants to reserve the domain.
