No, he's not, he's a slimy abomination with razor sharp teeth that you might not even be able to recognize as the symbiote from Marvel comics that he's supposed to be based on. It's not hard to believe that the movie he comes from was originally going to be for adults.

The co-creator (Todd McFarland) of Venom designed him to be absolutely positively SCARY, and he himself said he wanted the movie to be a "HARD R RATED MOVIE TO DO JUSTICE TO THE CHARACTER"!
