Yeah, and my mom would invariably respond with "if you were in public school, you wouldn't get away with this!!!" That reasoning never worked in the moment.
Heheh. Yeah, it's a perfect one. Bonus points if you wake up to it at dawn, which I've only had the pleasure of doing twice so far. Huh. Maybe you've trained yourself to detect even the softest alarm. What do you use the phone alarm for, then?
I met somebody at college who said they use that as their alarm...I almost asked them if they were you. I do sleep a bit on edge, I'm constantly checking the time to make sure I shouldn't already be up. On the road, or when I'm just making doubly sure that I remember to set at least one of my two.
Awesomeness. Nah, I'm not in college...yet. *stress intensifies* Yeah, whenever I wake up and it's daylight, I check my phone to make sure I haven't slept through the alarm again. Typically when that happens it'll be like 8:59. Oh, I see. It's like a double-security alarm.

"Of course I wouldn't, Mom, that's why I'm doing it now, while I'm homeschooled!"

I saw in the interview that you're super close, though. Started looking yet? I checked the time like 8 times last night...the first time was like 2 am. I CON't trust myself.

No, my response was normally "JUST SEND MY TO PUBLIC SCHOOL ALREADY!" which I didn't really want, but heat of the moment always took over my head.
