Since her eyes were closed, I pressed a pad of paper and a pen into Hanna's hand, since the stats on her voice read negative. "Open."
Hanna blinked, then tried to speak. She looked at the pad of paper, then wrote, You fixed everything but my voice.
"I couldn't. The computer wasn't that powerful, I'm sorry."
Why are you being so nice to me? Hanna showed me the note and looked away. I thought you were going to do something really bad.
"I really would have," I replied honestly. "I saw you fight, and...and I know you've probably been through, well...a lot."
Where are the Ninja?
"They're downstairs. I sort of didn't do anything to them either," I admitted. "Look, I may bring chaos and discord to all, but...I'm not really who you should watch out for. The thing is, well...when I corrupted Lloyd, I lost control of him. And...well, I sort of lost control of myself too. I mean, I think I might be possessed or something. As much as I enjoy bringing mayhem, I don't enjoy bringing real danger."
Hanna stared at me, possibly in disbelief. You can't really tell with mute girls.
"Well, if you work with me maybe we can find solutions for both of us!" I smiled. "I can get rid of whatever the heck is controlling me and you'll get your voice back."
Hanna nodded, her face showing a sense of pity.
As we walked down the hall again, I talked with her. "It wasn't my fault I inherited the Element of Chaos. It just sort of...came to me. I think there was this...dark force that sort of...was dormant somewhere and it wanted to use me for something? I mean, I don't remember correctly but..."
The Overlord? Hanna looked at me. But we defeated him a long time ago.
"Well, this Overlord isn't going to get away with what he's done to me - augh!" A stabbing pain in my chest, my heart feeling like fire. "That's never happened before."
Hanna touched my face, a look of pure sympathy on hers.
"Oh, I'm fine." I picked myself up and kept walking. "Let's go downstairs, get your friends."
(Looks like Damian is in sort of a Lena situation, if you've seen the latest DuckTales?)
A hand. Nothing but a hand touching mine. I glanced up and blinked. I was alone. Just Nya and I in a lit cellar.
I scooted back, glancing at Nya. Though her hair was frizzy and her face dripping with cold sweat, I didn't think any less of her. "Nya."
She turned to me.
"So...I guess we're trapped here, and, well..." My throat tightened. "Well, w-we're a lone and..." I struggled to speak. "It...it....s...been a while...and..."
"Just talk to me," Nya said.
"I...my..." My face flushed. Why couldn't I say something? "I...my dad played Fritz Donnegan! Remember that date where we went to-"
"I remember," Nya replied. "But you wanted to say something else, didn't you?"
"Oh. Well... it's been a few years since we first met and...ah...I...I've sort of...sort of...a...always wanted to..." I blushed, drumming my fingers on my lap, before fumbling in my pocket. "I mean, now that we're alone together, I...I wanted to ask you if you'd be my Yang."
Nya took a deep breath, and the joy she showed brought me joy as well. "Oh, Jay, of course!"
I handed the medallion to her, completely flustered yet extraordinarily happy. I then pulled her in and kissed her, my face still hot, yet cold with tears.
Since her eyes were closed, I pressed a pad of paper and a pen into Hanna's hand, since the stats on her voice read negative. "Open."

“It must have been a storm,” Zane added to Hanna's thought. “A temporal disturbance is rare but possible, especially at such a high altitude. But it could have also been caused manually by one if they had power enough, either by the element of time or the element of chaos.”
“Hold on,” Jay cut in. “So there's an element of chaos?”
“It's incredibly powerful. Like energy, it combines many different elements in one; time, shadow, creation and destruction, to name a few,” Zane explained. “There is no known master as of now, except for one unknown yet infamous.”
“Who?” Jay asked. “Who is it?”
“I haven't heard his name,” Zane replied, “but he is known as the Mayhembringer."
"Ooh, sounds spooky already," Jay replied with a shudder.
"Are you getting this, Kai?" Nya asked, her tone somewhat annoyed.
"Bits and pieces," Kai replied with a shrug
"You didn't pay attention during Zane's lessons, did you?" Nya asked.
"Eh, sort of," Kai replied.
"Sorry, he has a short attention span," Nya told Hanna with a sympathetic look, shooting a dirty look at Kai before continuing. "Whoever this Mayhembringer is, he sounds really strong .We'll have to take some time to train Hanna so she can fight with us."
"Or we can just fight without her," Kai replied with a shrug.
"As punctual as I'd like to be, that's not the best option," Jay replied ."If we leave her on the Bounty something could go very wrong! For heaven's sake, we could lose her! And...I don't wanna lose anyone else in my life." His tone softened and he averted his gaze. Nya gently placed a hand on his shoulder.
"We're all going to train her," Lloyd said. "Each of us has something in them that Hanna can learn from. You taught me, so it's only fair you all teach her as well."
"Yes, Master Lloyd," the others replied, bowing in their obedience.
Wait. Lloyd is your master? Hanna's brows knit in confusion. But he is so young.
"Our old master- well..." Jay stopped, looking down in sorrow.
"We don't like to talk about it," Lloyd added ."But I'm their leader now and there's nothing I can do about it."
Nothing. I felt nothing. Nothing but an empty feeling in my system. I couldn't move anything but my head; I was bound neck to toe by rope. I attempted to freeze it off, but it was made of vengestone fiber, and I had no voice to cry for help.
Footsteps. That was next. I looked up from my strugglingvoice noticed my captor, a tall, handsome young man with a head of messy black hair, clad in black, red and violet. He chuckled. "So you're the new recruit. Your friend said you were useless, but I wouln't think of such a thing. I could certainly use a strong, silent warrior like you."
I looked up at him, waiting for him to do something to me. He approached me, cutting my bonds.
"You're free as long as you're beside me, Silver Master," he told me.
I tilted my head. Silver Master?
"You're moving your hands in a confusing way. What is that, sign language?" He looked taken aback. "Are you insulting me?"
I shook my head and attempted to indicate that I was confused.
"Oh, something about your head?" He sighed as he watched me shake my head. "You mute people really are confusing. But don't worry. I'll get you a new voice during the reprogramming, and all will be well."
I raised my eyebrows.
"Yup. I'm doing you a favor. Just submit yourself to me and we'll be cool, okay?"
I nodded.
"And since you're here, people do call me the Mayhembringer, but my real name is Damian, so please, refer to me as such while you're in my company," the young man added.
I nodded a bit more vaguely.
"I'll be taking you to my main computer," Damian told me calmly. "You may look around while we walk."
I nodded and followed him, unsure what to expect but feeling brave. Deep down I really hoped the Ninja were alright. I looked down at the floor.
"And we're here. You can look up now," Damian said.
I glanced up at a large holographic screen, staring at it for a while.
Damian chuckled. "I know, right? Advanced technology! I don't even have to plug you in!"
I looked up at him, expecting something.
"No, I'm not going to brainwash you!" He laughed. "That's so cliche! Just sit tight aaaand...presto."
Since her eyes were closed, I pressed a pad of paper and a pen into Hanna's hand, since the stats on her voice read negative. "Open."

I stared at the floor as Hanna looked at me. She seemed to be asking if I was okay.
"I'm fine. Just...stay beside me, alright?"
Hanna looked concerned.
"It's nothing."
Nothing? I control you, you fool! I am the Mayhembringer, the great and powerful, and you haven't obeyed me since that silly girl came around! Don't make me seize you again.
Alright, I thought. But we have to come to a compromise. I can't hurt these people after seeing all they've gone through.
No! No compromises. You will do exactly as I say or I will be more than just a voice in your head!
Okay, but get me out of this ridiculous outfit.
It's stylish and practical, and perfectly dastardly! How could you not like it? You really don't like anything I give you, do you? You would have made the perfect villain, funny, entertaining and strong! But no, you get set up with a love interest and you want more than anything to defeat me! Do you know how long I've prepared to rule Ninjago?
Yes, yes, but why are you even using me as a pawn?
Because I am your father and I can do what I want with you,he snapped. Besides, your dashingly good looks and eloquent voice could certainly serve its purpose with me.
Can't you do it yourself? All these years you've been setting me up and using me for some stupid plan when you could always do it on your own using your own powers! Can't I have free will for once! That would be being a good dad and not a lazy, abusive one!
Very well, my father replied. I will set you free and set out on my own. But you must promise not to stop me.
And with that, the force once possessing me left and I was free.
"I'm free," I muttered. "I'm not the Mayhembringer anymore."
Hanna smiled quietly at me. She pointed me to a cellar, and I guessed I must have captured some of the Ninja in it.
I stared into it. It held a petite, pale-skinned young man with unkempt Auburn hair, freckles and big, blue eyes, a skinny arm around a pretty young lass with scraggly black hair and deep brown eyes. From their body language I guessed they were together.
So the Ninja that protect the city... they're teenage lovebirds?
I stared down into the cellar, and the young lad stared up at me, blinking. He seemed confused. When he finally spoke, his voice was husky, yet high and youthful. "You're...letting us go?"
"Yeah. I've seen you and changed. Get up, take your girlfriend with you."
The girl with him raised an eyebrow. "How did you know?" Her voice was feminine, strong but cute.
"I can just tell," I said with a shrug as I pulled them out. "So... you're the Ninja that protect this place, huh? I thought you'd be taller."
The short boy crossed his arms. "One, there are more of us, and two, I'm not that short."
"Well, you're shorter than the girl next to you so that says something," I replied with a chuckle. "And...did I not get everyone? I thought everyone was in the cellar."
"Nope," the boy replied. "Just us. Wait, wh- where did you put my friends?" He began to get defensive.
"Woah, easy!" I stopped him. "I don't remember. Hey, we'll look for them!" I smiled reassuringly and stood. "Here, I'll search the place and you...oh, come with me, I guess." I began to walk off, but I stopped and looked back. "You coming?"
The boy looked at the girl, as if questioning my trustworthiness (for good reason) and began to follow me.
"What other traps are in here? Man, this is confusing," I muttered to myself.
"Wait, isn't this yours?" the boy asked.
"Actually, no," I replied, then confessed my story. "This was my father's. He's an infamous villain, but he hasn't been around for a while. He...possessed me and I was forced to do his bidding for a time. Thanks to your robot friend, I have my free will back and you can have your freedom."
I glanced at the curly-headed teen and shrugged. "Well, I'm not possessed anymore, so there's that."
"We know someone else whose father is just like yours," the dark-haired girl told me.
"Lloyd Garmadon, of course," I replied with a chuckle. I'd seen him around countless times, both as a Ninja and as a regular (albeit angsty) teen. "But... Mayhembringer is nothing like Garmadon. For one thing, he has a twisted sense of humor, and...well, the Element of Chaos isn't pretty, nor is he wise with it. He sort of...'plays rough' with his 'toys,' if you know what I mean."
The blue-eyed boy shuddered. "I-I don't think I even want to know."
"Keh, you really don't, kid." I turned around. "So...what are your names?"
The boy smiled a bit. Due to his mouth being naturally slightly askew, it looked a bit like a smirk. "Jayson Walker. Everyone calls me Jay."
"And I'm Nya," the girl added.
"So...you two related or something?"
Jay looked incredibly offended. "Do we look like we're related?"
Equally as bothered, Nya added, "He's my boyfriend, not my brother!"
I laughed. "Hey, chill, I was kidding! I mean, obviously, you two look nothing alike."
Jay sighed and shook his head, but said nothing.
"So...how far are you in your relationship?" I asked as we kept walking.
"Heh, um..." Jay blushed. "Well, we just became Yin and Yang."
"Ooh, congrats! When are you guys planning on getting married?"
"We're teenagers, Mayhembringer," Nya replied.
I felt like she had punched me in the stomach with a cute smile on her face, just for calling me that name. Why would she call me the title that belonged to my cruel father? "Please call me Damian," I said gingerly. "That's my real name. Mayhembringer's my dad, sorry."
"Oh. Well, we didn't know," Nya replied. "The one who should be apologizing is me."
"Well, let's keep mov- oww!!!" A sharp pain in my nose. Sudden gushing of a warm, sticky liquid, and a strange feeling in my head. I looked up at what I had hit. "Wait..."
Right in front of me was a giant cage, where the voices that could be heard were those of the very Ninja who protected Ninjago.
To my horror, my friends were chained up, unconscious, and some sort of...rainbow Vermillion... were keeping guard. They had no faces, which sent chills up my spine, considering that they were just as sentient as their orange counterparts.
"Heh," I muttered, grinning nervously. "Guess Mr. Big Bad ran out of ideas, eh?"
One of the snake things turned its "head" towards me, and I knew I'd spoken wrong.
"Ah, ah, I...I didn't mean it, I was joking I swear!" I backed up, grabbing onto Nya's arm and squeaking weakly, "These things are terrifying!"
Nya grabbed her spear as I watched, attempting to take down the monster with its sharp, jagged blade. To my shock, it blocked the hit with the palm of its slimy hand, even grabbing the spear and throwing it out.
"Try using water!" I told her, frantically feeling for my nunchucks. "That helped last time!"
Nya nodded and blasted water at it, but it blocked it with some sort of invisible shield. Ugh, why did it have to be indestructible?
"Come on, really?" I groaned, attempting to hook my nunchucks around one of the snakes it was made up of. Fortunately, it did come out, but unfortunately, it just slipped back in. "Oh, come on! What are we gonna do just gonna pull 'em apart, only for the creature to just come back together again, thus rendering our efforts completely useless with no chance of them giving up whatsoever, are we?"
"It's like every other one we faced, Jay," Nya told me, probably in an effort to calm me down, though my heart was racing faster and louder than a thunderstorm in the spring. " We just...gotta figure out...ooh, that hurt!" She had just been punched in the face by ten angry vipers at once. Great.
I stepped back to look at the beast. The colors matched up to Serpentine tribes; red for Fangpyre, blue for Hypnobrai, black for Constrictai, green for Venomari. "They're made up of different Serpentine vipers from back when we were fighting the snakes! Remember each one's weakness?"
I stared at the floor as Hanna looked at me. She seemed to be asking if I was okay.
"I'm fine. Just...stay beside me, alright?"
Hanna looked concerned.

I watched as Jay attempted to fend off the snakes, and I turned to the cage with my brother and his friends in it. Leaving him behind, I ran in and looked for a lock on the cage. I took a pin out of my hair and quickly moved it around in the keyhole, hoping it would do something. When the door swung open, I fell over onto my rear, but as the snake guards were so busy with Jay, I crawled into the cage and woke everyone up.
"Huh...?" Kai was the first to awaken, shaking his head and blinking in confusion. "Nya?"
Cole woke up and glanced at Kai, then at me. "When did we..."
I unchained them all and sighed. "I'll explain later. Let's just make sure we're not spotted."
Trying my best to stay hidden, I looked for an exit to the room we had been in. I grabbed Jay before the snake creatures had noticed and, as they chased after us, we outran them, but only by a bit. Jay was trailing behind. This couldn't be good.
We escaped the Mayhembringer's lair and landed back in Ninjago City, looking everywhere for the docks that housed the Bounty. Why did this city have to be so big?
Finally, Zane decided to pitch in by acting as a GPS, and we found the ship docked at the harbor, no harm done to it. We climbed on- not exactly one at a time- and sighed in relief, but it was then I realized something.
We forgot Hanna.
"Guys, we left Hanna at the lair," I muttered, looking down with wide eyes. "We can't just leave her."
"She's with the Mayhembringer now," Kai replied. "It's best we don't bother the traitor until we're ready t-"
"Damian," I cut in. "His name is Damian, and Hanna's not a traitor. Damian was possessed by his own father, the real Mayhembringer, and he was forced to create those snakes and capture everyone. He showed kindness to Hanna, so she must have stayed on purpose."
"And I think he likes her," Jay added with a giggle. "He keeps looking at her in a certain way."
"Jay," I muttered.
"What? I really saw him all blushing and stuff," Jay replied. "It was kind of cute!"
"So of course," I remarked, "he wasn't gonna let her go. Sounds kind of...possessive."
