Ackar arrives with a small band of knights, approaching from where a dragon knight typically would. He makes this approach in a discreet manner, however.

The soldier on the walls recognizes him and quickly opens the gates. "Welcome, Lord Ackar." He and his companions are shown to a small sitting room.
After a few minutes, the sorcerer Gidie enters, floating, legs crossed, on a red carpet a couple feet above the floor. Ackar has met him before but does not remember him well. He is quite young, but his face looks aged beyond the normal. His hair and beard are unkempt and his robes are wrinkled and stained in a few places. Clearly, he was not prepared for this meeting and appears quite flustered. "Ah, welcome, Lord Ackar. I was not expecting you. I had been told Lord Amvion would be making the trip himself at a somewhat later date."

"I was informed of no such meeting. Has Amvion made it a habit to be coming here without telling the other lords? How uncouth!"
Ackar takes a moment to compose himself. And realizes his rudeness in not addressing the sorcerer properly.
"Er, my apologies... uh, Gidie, was it? It has been too long. I must thank you for the actual welcome. How has the situation been? No major conflicts, I trust?"

"Oh, a separate visit, then. No matter. Yes, everything is, uh, fine here."

"'Tis good to hear that. Truthfully: all is quiet back in the main territories of the kingdom, so I may stay here a short while to learn more of this place, as Amvion has been somewhat... secretive, about it. I trust it is not an intrusion to do so?"

"Em, no, no, not at all. In that case, you may be here when Amvion arrives, so you can talk about it with him."

"Well, in any case: do please keep me informed on what goes on here. 'Twouldn't do to have a conflict here. From what I hear, there are 'brigands' about. At least according to Amvion."

"Yes, I will make sure to do that, though I haven't heard anything about brigands."
