OOC: I can't stand addressing my character as "a cloaked figure" anymore, so I'm just gonna say his name. Have no idea why I did't do that in the first place.
IC: Ornan looks at the empty streets for a moment, then starts wandering around.
As he moves farther into the town, he begins to hear shouting. It gets louder until he reaches the town square, where he finds a crowd gathered around something he can't properly see over their heads.
Ornan taps someone on the shoulder to get their attention. "What is going on here?" He asks.

The person turns to him. "This stone lady's here, and she's challenging people to touch her with their hands or a weapon. If you succeed, you get the chance to join the Shadow Warriors."
Alpida returns to the town square to find excited crowds. "Let the challenges continue!"
Most of those who were there earlier in the day are still present, and Alpida goes through plenty more challenges as the morning turns into afternoon. Only one succeeds, though, a hulking figure of a man who actually grabs Alpida's blade as it strikes his head and uses it support himself while pulling himself towards her.
OOC: For anyone who wants to go to the Shadow Warriors, this is your last chance.
As the sun begins to set and the line of challengers to dwindle, Alpida tells the crowd that once the people still in line are done she will accept no more challenges. None of those beat her, but just as the last man is about to step forward an arrow flies into Alpida's thigh. She holds up a hand, telling the challenger to stop, and glances around. "Who did that? Bring him to me!" Before long, the remaining crowd drags forth a man holding a bow. Alpida looks at him. "You shot me?"
He nods.
"Then you have won the challenge. An arrow is a weapon. Go stand with the others." Alpida looks back out at the crowd. "I am done now. You all have fought well, but not well enough." She points at the final challenger, a weathered, gray-haired man. "You come with us as well."
The old man stares at her, surprised. "Me? But I didn't win the challenge."
Alpida shakes her head. "You attempted it no less than twenty times. No one else even went twice. You deserve this." She brings him over to the others and they head back to the inn where Alpida and Fawn talked.

*Fawn arrives ready and packed and gives a small wave* Good morn. We are leaving now then?
Alpida nods. To her companions, she says, "This is Fawn. I will be helping return her to the Kriatoma after I take you to Bakar." And to Fawn, "My companions are Kemen, Oier, Hode, Mitel, Ximon, and Alaia. They hope to earn the right to join me in the Shadow Guard."

*Fawn offers another wave* Peace to you all, you all did better than I did for sure. *she gives a small chuckle*

Only Kemen, an older man, smiles and waves back. "Actually, I'm only here because I tried twenty times."
"You can talk more while we walk," says Alpida. "Let's go." They leave the village.
