"My name is Alpida. I think we should talk." She turns to the crowd. "The challenges are over, for now. I will return later to continue, but until then you should all go about your regular business." She turns back to Fawn, but as she does so one of the challengers waiting in line charges at her. She sidesteps his charge and knocks him out with a blow to the back of the head. "Nice try, but I said the challenge was on hold and I meant it." To the crowd, she says, "What are you waiting for? Go!"
*Fawn watches this quietly then speaks to Alpida* I am Fawn. We will talk if you wish it, have I transgressed?
OOC: All the HQs are "good", but the Shadow Warriors plotline is precipitated on the question of why we choose to follow the leaders that we do. As a mercenary with a code, I just think Gartt would have an interesting perspective. Do whatever you want, as long as there's a mercenary at every HQ when the storylines get rolling.
OOC: What is their code.
OOC: Do you mean the Shadow Warriors? I wouldn't say they have any particular code themselves. The Shadow Guard is sworn to serve and protect the Black Knight.

Alpida is silent for a long moment. "You have not made any transgression towards me. Let us go somewhere more quiet." She begins walking.
"Bring your eyes next time you journey to such a dangerous place as this. There are many here that are much more dangerous and easily angered than I. But I am alright and there is no harm done." Gartt returns her bird. "However, I fear I have killed your beautiful bird in halting its flight. Is your arm well enough?"
*she blushes at being chided but sets her jaw* I will. *she sets bird upright on her glove were it gives Gartt the evil eye* No, thankfully, I think only dazed by bating like that. Yes, it seems not badly hurt. Strange we should run into each other, as I was thinking of speaking to you again after our other meeting. I had planned to go to the sea, but rather I am detouring to visit the forest. I thought you might care to journey with me there, since you looked for news of the world?
"I'm quite glad to hear this. You pepose an intriguing idea. I would journey with you, however, I have business at the Tavern. Mayhap I should meet you at the edge of the forest?" Said Gartt.

*Fawn follows her silently after retrieving her weapon and tucking it away*
Alpida finds the nearest tavern and ducks inside, and takes a seat at a table in the back corner. When a serving woman tries to talk to her, she stares her down until she leaves. Then she turns to Fawn. "How did you come to be here, away from . . . your people? They aren't here, are they?" She nervously fingers her scimitar.

*Fawn ducks her head into her scarf* Bad luck, I became confused and got lost. Eventually I joined a traveling caravan and wandered my way to here. I've known no news of my people for a long time save the fearful glances I get in streets. *Fawn peers at Alpida keenly then* Are they not your people as well though?

"I am Orato ki Anikost. When I last saw the Kriatoma, they were sailing away to resettle. You may never be able to find them again."
OOC: Orato ki Anikost means "unseen and unheard". It is equivalent to banishment from the society, and requires that those sentenced to it give up all status and possessions granted to them by the Kriatoma. When someone is declared Orato ki Anikost, they are effectively no longer Kriatoma. Fawn would know all this.

OOC: Oh, okay. : D
I'm sorry. *she bows her head breifly* Did you only wish to ask me of my people today?
Karthon pauses in crouch as he contemplates whether to pursue this trivial activity. He studies the weather all the while. Then, looking about for any other suspicious folks, slips down to the streets and enters the inn. What are you up to..?
He finds the man sitting at a table talking to a potbellied, balding man who must be the innkeeper.
Karthon comes up to the bar, keeping an ear out for interesting conversation while he waits to be served.

"I made my decision. What is, is." Alpida pauses. "I was not expecting to see a Kriatoma again. What is your name?"
