Not exactly a newbie, but since I'm not sure if we're done setting up the FAC I'll ask my question over here: Is a half-Minotaur character allowed? You also mentioned that there were different races of Minotaur, are you re-posting that coming up, that way I can choose? If not, where would I find the old race descriptions?

This is the perfect place for asking questions. I'm not sure if a half-minotaur is feasible, but go for it if you want. There are some different tribes of minotaur, with slight physical differences, but not different races.
Adarcafad (now only found in the Wilderlands) have longer horns. Cruladir have larger feet and legs. Finnasoch have dark fur. Finnasnet have pale fur. Irebagar have shorter tails. Matrifacla sharpen their teeth. Sulegal have pale greenish eyes. Pintalit paint their fur with colorful markings. Alsulor are slightly specialized for climbing Ganamitir are smaller, with thinner hair and wider feet. Smulathan have larger heads and wider snouts. Nertmor are larger in size. Clochbrisir and Co###ha don't have any particular distinguishing physical features.

I'll go with Finnasnet, if I do end up with this character. So you don't think a half-human, half-Minotaur is a likely thing to exist? Any other races it would more likely to mix with? Orc? Goblin? I feel like a straight-out Minotaur would be OP.

Okay. The current chief of Finnasnet is Fionnlagh. I don't think any minotaur mixes are unlikely. Casur was a full minotaur and Alpida is stronger than a minotaur. You're fine.

Okay, now to pick an HQ...I feel traitorous for CONsidering anything besides the Forest HQ.

It's up to you. I'm putting characters in all the HQs for now, just to keep an eye on everything.

So, pardon my newness, but do I just post a bio in the place I want to be associated with? And how does the day to day play function?

Yes. Post your bio in your HQ or the Mercenary Village. Day to day, you'll hopefully be interacting with the other RPers, just being your character. If there aren't any other RPers around, I can step in to play some NPCs and give you something to do. Personally, I want to see some conflict between HQs, but that doesn't mean cooperation between them can't happen. There is also the possibility of small Adventures managed by myself or anyone else who wants to try that.

That sounds very interesting.
I'm glad you think so. I guess I wouldn't really be doing a good job if it wasn't.

I got some questions, being a spanking-new noobie to this RP. Apologies in advance.
*pulls out list* A-hem.
1. Is there a limit to how many characters we can have?
2. If someone wants to claim an open position in an HQ, do they claim it in the HQ, or request in a different topic?
3. Is it mandatory for us to get separate RP avatars for our characters?
4. Do intelligent animals count as RP characters?
5. Are we allowed to claim already-named characters who aren't being used, such as Alinor of the Abandoned Fortress?
6. Do we make up our own fantasy names for our characters?
