Joy had act fast. She shouted at Jerry, "Put him down!"
Another tentacle emerged and reached Joy. She slashed her sword at the tentacle, but it stopped upon contact with the tentacle. "Its skin is impenetrable. I can't use my sword."
Thinking quickly, she thought of another idea. She ran away from the bridge with the tentacle following as close as it can, but it couldn't reach her after a few steps. She ran toward a tall and heavy tree with a thin trunk and slashed at its side multiple times with her sword, chipping some wood off each time. She kept carving into its side as quickly as she could while Temptation was still gasping for breath. With one final swing, she slashed her sword right through the tree, kicked its side, and yelled, "Take that!". The tallest point of the tree came falling very quickly and landed on the bridge, which broke and landed on Jerry.
In just a few seconds, the heavy tree, the now-collapsed bridge, Jerry, and Temptation were sinking underneath the surface of the murky water, with Temptation still being held by the tentacle above the water.
Something began to slowly circle around the splash of where the board fell, and Joy began to feel afraid as she turned around to look at Temptation. She's encountered numerous creatures before, but each new creature she fought seemed to be stronger than the one before. She pulled out her shortsword and held it in a defensive position.
For a few seconds, it was quiet. Temptation and Joy smiled at each other thinking it was over. Then all of a sudden....
A giant tentacle splashes out of the waters and through the hole from the fallen board. It was now in between Temptation and Joy, and it curled around the air.
As Jerry's body sinks below the swamp's surface, his grip loosens a bit around Temptation's waist -- but not quite enough. Temptation is dragged into the water, struggling feebly against the giant tentacle wrapped around him. His movement becomes slow and strained in the swamp, with both the thick, murky water soaking into his robes and the tentacle dragging him down. Temptation's visions becomes blurry, and he wheezes faintly. Dimly, he has enough dry humor to think to himself. What a stupid way to smash. I guess I won't be tempting travelers away with cookies anymore now. "Luke!" Something smacks him in the face, having been thrown from the bridge. Dazed and weary from loss of breath and a dull pain throbbing in his ribcage somewhere, Temptation stares stupidly at on old, sturdy vine floating on the surface of the marsh. He forces himself to raise his head, where he catches sight of Joy gripping the other end of the long vine.

Temptation was able to free one hand from Jerry's grip, which was slowly getting weaker as Jerry sunk into the water. He grabbed onto the rope and held it tightly. Joy pulled the other end of the rope with all of her might. After a strenuous battle of tug-of-war, Temptation was finally free from Jerry's grip and Temptation rose from the surface of the water and onto what's left of the broken bridge.
After Temptation was finally onto land, Joy grabbed Temptation's hand and ran away from Jerry, just enough so Jerry's tentacle's couldn't reach them. At last, Temptation fell from exhaustion and gasped for breath. Suddenly, Joy noticed something.
"Oh no, your arm is bruised. Let me help you." Joy said as she sat near Temptation wrapping his arm with a small cloth.

*chuckles out loud* Temptation and Joy could probably use some dwarves to help them out. XD
Too shaken and winded to protest, Temptation allows Joy to pull back the sleeve of his robe to wrap his wounded arm in the cloth. Dirty water drips down his face and drags his robes to the ground, hanging heavy on his rather thin frame. He wheezes several times before his breath becomes smooth and even. To his embarrassment, he realizes he’s trembling slightly, most likely due to the shock and violent squeezing around his torso. He hopes Joy doesn’t notice the faint quivering. A low breeze blows against his face. With an uncomfortable start, he realizes part of his large hood had edged backwards, exposing part of his face to view. Anxiously, he yanks the hood down, covering his face once more. I hope she didn’t see that. He casts a wary glance at Joy.
Joy quickly glances at Temptation, still unable to see behind the cloak. A few seconds later, she finished bandaging him.
"There you go. That should help your arm for a while. Are you hurt anywhere else? How's your head? Let me help you." She asks as she reaches her arms out ready to pull down Temptation's cloak. Temptation turned his face away from Joy.
