Temptation cast Farthingworth a look of astonishment. Lord Fear's lip curled disdainfully. "Pfft. What a load of--" "Y- you're in a ch- church!" the priest blurted. "I was going to say 'poppycock'." Fear rolled his eyes. "Guards, seize them." Temptation unsheathed his sword as the black-cloaked men surged for him, Farthingworth, and Joy. They staggered to a halt, however, when a noise like thunder shook the air. The candles and torches quivered from the faint vibration. The men shared uneasy looks with one another and glanced around the interior of the building, searching for the source. Temptation felt a slow smile grow on his face. His gaze met Fear's. "You hear that? That's the sound of your home being destroyed, Uncle." He couldn't resist taunting him. "And you won't even get the chance to rebuild it with your money. All your slaves have escaped, and as we speak, they've probably already arrived at the nearest town and spread the word about your cruelty and treachery against the kingdom. I bet the Royal Guard are on their way here right now, to arrest you and everyone else." Fear's face turned white. . . then bright red. His eyes blazed with undisguised rage at his nephew, then at Dr. Farthingworth, and finally at Joy. He sputtered, "H-- how?!" Envy whined, "Why does he always have to be the center of attention? What a loser. Always trying to be the hero." Temptation ignored them. He faced the crowd of startled guardsmen. "Listen. You guys probably don't want to be here when the Royal Guard arrives. My suggestion for you is to run while you can. You don't have much time left." The group hesitated. "Any man who leaves will be hunted down and destroyed!" Fear growled. "I'll take my chances," one of the younger men retorted. He fled to the entrance of the church, as did a dozen others. "How dare you!" Fear's voice roared against the walls. "You get back here! Get back here and capture the traitors, you cowards!" The remaining force of men grabbed Farthingworth and cornered Joy. Meanwhile Greed had finally gotten to his feet, and now blustered, "Don't kill the girl! I want her alive." Temptations' anger flared.

Ooh yes! The action continues and everything is falling into place! Great part, Tigress!

I was just thinking. It's amazing how far the characters have come since the beginning of the story. It starts out them just meeting in the woods. A seemingly simple thing. And now that has all lead up to where the story is now, it's awesome to see how much progress this story and its characters have made.
... And we've just been making it up as we go along. There's been virtually no planning for this. o-o xD Thank you, NFM. That means a lot.

Thanks NFM! Tigress and I have really enjoyed writing this story, and we're so happy that you've really enjoyed it ever since it started!
You're welcome! I think I actually started reading this a little later then a lot of people, but I'm glad I did when I finally did.
A few of Lord Fear's guards took their positions surrounding Temptation with swords at hand, ready to strike Temptation down, but Lord Fear stood from the front row and gave a different command.
"Hold your positions, but don't attack him. Afterall, Temptation is my nephew." Lord Fear said facing Temptation from the front of the wedding aisle.
"Let... Joy... Go!" Temptation shouted.
"Not so fast, your dear Joy has already fallen in love with Greed through that potion that Dr. Farthingworth has prepared for me. Isn't that right, Joy?" Lord Fear replied as he turned and faced her. Greed and Joy stood at the front looking like they were going to say their "I do" lines, and Temptation thought she would put on a cheerful smile and say that she loves Greed, but she gave him the exact opposite.
Joy raised her foot and kicked Greed as hard as she could, making him fall onto his back and roll down the chapel's front stage. She turned around and grabbed a long floor candle stand holding a few candles. She whipped it around and held it in a defensive position with the fire of the candles facing Lord Fear.
"I don't love your son, Lord Fear. I loathe him, for all he's done to me, to my parents, and to Temptation!"
Lord Fear was in shock, "How did you survive the potion?" Lord Fear asked curiously as he signaled some guards to surround Joy.
Just then, from behind Temptation and through the doors, a sweaty and out-of-breath Dr. Mortimer Farthingworth walks in pushing past the guards surrounding Temptation and joins him, panting and breathing heavily, putting his hands on his bent knees. He had been running to follow Temptation to the chapel, but he got tired quicker. "Temptation... I told you to wait up.... I am a slow man." He says as he collapses on the floor in front of Temptation. Another set of guards surround them.
"Well if it isn't Dr. Farthingworth. Why must you betray me, after I promised you anything of your desire? You could have been great. All you had to do was work for me!" Lord Fear asked.
"Well, I didn't desire to become a great at the cost of people's lives. There's no point of being great if there's no one to share it with." Dr. Farthingworth said.
Yay, our buddy Morty is with the good guys for good!

You're welcome! I think I actually started reading this a little later then a lot of people, but I'm glad I did when I finally did.
I think you started reading when Tigress and I still had it on FF.
I checked real quick, looks like I didn't say anything till page 44 which was where I finally got caught up after I started reading. I saw bits and pieces of it on FF, but didn't keep up with it there.

Ah, very nice. No matter how long you've been reading, we're glad you've been reading and that you really enjoy the story!
Joy swung her candlestick weapon across the guards, but they grabbed her weapon and forced it out of her hand.
Temptation watched as the guards eventually grabbed Joy and held her back into her position in the wedding before it was interrupted. Greed took back his place, standing in front of Joy.
"This wedding will take place whether you like it or not, nephew." Lord Fear said "Priest, resume with the wedding. I'll take care of my nephew myself." He said as he stood in front of Joy and Greed as he pulled out a knife from inside his cloak.
The guards that had surrounded Temptation stood back, only surrounding him so he couldn't escape. Temptation's only path was to walk down the aisle and face Lord Fear. Temptation and Lord Fear took slow steps toward the middle of the aisle as the audience of hooded members watched them closely.
Meanwhile, the priest continued, "Ok... um..." He frantically said as he flipped through his notes. "Greed, do you take Joy--"
"Yes, I do." Greed interrupted.
"You haven't even heard the whole vow yet!" The priest exclaimed.
"What? People just accept these things anyways without thinking." Greed said back.
"Fine." The priest said as he turned to Joy "Joy, do you take Greed to be your--"
"No, I don't!" Joy shouted back.
"You haven't even heard the whole vow yet!" The priest exclaimed.
"I've made my decision. No." Joy said back.
"Well, since the wedding can't proceed like this, I think my job here is done." The priest said as he turned to step off the podium, but Envy stopped him, holding a sword to the priest's chin.
"Skip this part and proceed as if she said yes." Envy demanded.
The priest went back up on his podium.
Meanwhile, Temptation and Lord Fear were only a few feet apart from each other, with Lord Fear swinging around his knife to intimidate Temptation. Temptation stood there, trying to figure out how to fight back. He was in the aisle, his evil uncle was in front of him, he's surrounded by organization members in all of the pews, and small candles lit every aisle to light the way. He felt inside his cloak and felt something long and cylindrical. He looked inside his cloak and found a stowaway stick of explosives.
